A few questions/suggestions welcome...

So were going back to Disney World in February, and decided to stay at the Boardwalk Villa's this time. After booking the 5 night trip, we decided to go a day early and NOT do the parks on the first day - we always hit the parks on the first day after a very early flight and are usually pretty exhausted that day - especially towards the end of the night.

So, I booked us at AKL for the night - Never stayed there before, thought it would be great to have the Savannah view and to just give it a try (Boardwalk area is our favorite - so the chances of booking a stay here the entire time would be slim) - I thought this would be the perfect opportunity.

Now, we have our park tickets/Boardwalk reservation together as a package. So we must check in at Boardwalk in order to get our tickets - however, we would rather leave from AKL and head to a park, rather than going to the Boardwalk to check-in (we want to do MK that day) and since it would require us to get BACK on a bus after getting our tickets, it would be nice if we already had them.

I'm considering taking the park tickets off the reservation, buying the tickets at AKL when we arrive, and if possible, have the tickets transferred to our room keys once we arrive at Boardwalk to check-in after a day at MK.

So my question is - can I buy tickets at AKL and have them transferred to our Boardwalk room key(s) once we check in?

or if there are any easier ways to go about this - suggestions welcome! Thanks!:smickey:

I always buy my tickets from aaa, and have them linked to my room key when I get there. I switch them when I do a split stay. The CMs take care of everything at check in.

We have resort hopped before and where able to get our park ticket on our room key at the first resort we stayed at. We would call the front desk and have them pick up our luggage and take it to our new resort. Go to the park and show up afterwards at our new resort check in and they would just transfer our tickets to our new room key/card. I don't think you'll have to check in at Boardwalk to get your park tickets. But I'm not sure that's why I suggested calling.
Have Fun!:yay:

An update:

We realized that if we cancelled the tickets, it would no longer be a package - therefore no 6 months zero % financing with my Disney Visa.

So, we need to keep the package.

We then thought it would be nice to make our ticket a day longer, and use that day on the first day of our stay (changing our "relaxing" day to a park day) - We can't do this. After calling Disney twice, and the Boardwalk themselves, we cannot pick up our tickets a day early/before check in, therefore not allowing us to add an extra day and use that ticket while at AKL.

What I find interesting is that if we did the opposite and stayed at AKL at the end - what would happen to our tickets with the extra day? It seems that this is fine because we've already "checked in" but you cannot get access to your park tickets before your official "check in" on the package.

We decided to forget the whole thing - 5 days in the parks, not 6.

Have you read Cheshire Figment's ticket sticky? He's a ticketing CM and one of the things he addresses is picking up tickets before the start of a package. It can be done, but at Guest Relations at a park or DTD, rather than at the resorts. It seems to be a case of something that isn't done at the resorts so they just say it's not possible.

Here's the link and the relevant section is 15I.

Wow! Thanks for the link - I have not read that. It sounds easy enough, the only thing that would concern me is not having our ticket transferred to our KTTW card upon checking into Boardwalk - the post stated there is strong possibility that they may not be able to transfer the tickets to the card.
