This will be our first visit to Universal. We are taking Mears (I think) from ASSp to Universal. Does anyone know if a cab will be cheaper. Mears is $12 pp and we have to leave at 7:45am. Which leads me to my second question: Is that early enough. We only have one day each for IOA and US. My last question (at least for now) is Has anyone pre purchased tickets at the Universal store at the airport. A few guidebooks have suggested getting the tickets ahead of time to avoid a wait.

I guess I lied, one more question. What is FOTL all about. I am very confused.

Thanks we can't wait to go!

Definitely buy your passes ahead of time. There are usually long lines to buy them at the parks. With a two day pass I THINK (not sure-it seems to always change), you can get one express pass per ticket at a time. They work kind of like fastpass at Disney.

Depending on where ASSp is located 7:45 should be early enough. The gates do not usually open until 8:45 and the rides do not start until 9:00. I just heard today that the water rides, RIPSAW FALLS AND BILGE RAT RIDE do not open until 10:00. It is to cold and unfashionable to get that wet before 10 anyway. By all means get your tickets ahead of time. The 2 day and 3 day pass let you park hop. the one day pass confines you to either IOA or USF. Hope you have as much fun there as i do!!

How many are in your party? If there are 5 of you $60.00 seems like a lot.

Call Mears (they own Yellow cab in Fl. also) and ask them (407-699-9999) what the fare would be. It is not that far of a journey.

I'm sure they will try to push you towards the shuttle.

P.S. ASSp is All-Star Sports

We just got back on June 30, and took a cab when we transferred from POFQ to HRH. The fare was $25.50 for 4 of us. It looks like if there are 3 or more in your party @ $12 each, you're better off taking a cab.

We have six in our party so it does sound like we are better off to take a cab. I'm going to call the yellow cab number and see what I can do. Thanks for all of your help.

I just called an got a rate quote of approximately $30, which would be for one way. So I guess it would be cheaper than $72 for the shuttle.
