Any help with my questions below will be greatly appreciated.

I am a single parent and taking this trip to help us resolve issues that happened on our last Disney land/cruise trip in March 2005 that resulted in the breakdown of my marriage and eventual divorce. I want to do this right to help us (me specifically) erase the negative feelings that I associate with our last vacation and that continue to haunt me to this day. I have convinced myself I will be able to move on after this trip. (it's a long story)

I have a land/sea booked for November 8-15th 2007 for myself, 13 yr son and 10 yr old daughter. I am going to add some nights to the end of our trip to take advantage of the 7 day park hoppers. We are booked at the poly (due to an incredible upgrade price/category I got for the cruise- secret verandah room category 7 from a cat 10 for $400 and went from CBR to the poly- it helps to book 18 months out!) for our land portion and want to stay on site for the 3 additional nights 11/16-11/18 at a comparable resort but for a great price. I could not afford to stay at the poly under normal rates and usually use priceline for other hotels so staying on site for me is a real challange but I'm sure will be worth the experience! I am signed up for lot's of disney stuff but never received a code for any of our 2 prior trips.

My first questions is when is the best time to book room only rates? I have AAA but would like to get at least a moderate for about $100 per night. I was thinking of pop century if I cannot find a good deal. I want to stay on site to take advantage of the Mickey's Christmas party- if they have it during our stay.

2nd question is can I add the dining package to a room only reservation since I will have days remaining on our trip. I know I can't add it to the land portion of our cruise but this is something I am adding on by myself. Do you have to purchase park tickets or just the room?

3rd question is it better to use a travel agent for discounts? I am going to transfer my cruise reservation to an agent to take advantage of the shipboard credit. I had emailed allseason travel but they never followed through with the transfer. Is there a TA that does the best at securing the best rates and deals? I have been considering Dreams unlimited, the board sponser. Has anyone had any problems, wonderful experience etc?

Thank you for any help!

Michelle
