A few questions about joining

My DH and I are considering joining DVC and we'd like to get in on the 15% SSR special. We've seen the DVD, looked online, and listened to the sales pitch last year on our DCL cruise. We requested that more info be sent to us last week but were told that since we had already talked to a certain guide (I guess on our cruise last year) that they would forward the info on to her and she'd send it out when she is back in the office. Anyway, we're getting kindof antsy for information, so I knew this would be the best place to get some answers...

For those who've recently bought into SSR, when do you get your first points? If we closed in Dec 2005, would we get 2005 points and 2006 points and would our use year be in each Dec? We are thinking of buying just the minimum 150 points, so how does this all work out and when do we have to pay our first dues? If we finance for just one year, what is the interest rate?

Any other things someone considering joining should know?

My DW and I just signed on at SSR. We received the 15% referral discount and we got this years points (160). Our use date is June. So, we got the first 160 pts. and in June we will get another set of 160 pts. Hope it all works out for you, We could not find a better deal for what we were looking for.

Thanks Disney Dawg. How are they charging you for the dues? Do you have to pay for 2005 and 2006 or do you just pay in Jan 2006?

If you close in December you would pay 1/12 the annual dues for 2005. I understand that you will likely get a June UY and you should be able to bank all of those 2005 points if you want (just be sure to request if that's what you want).
