A few questions about booking through AAA

I am planning a trip for 2 adults and 1 child age 7 for August. It will be either 10 or 14 days. Last year I went in July and booked directly through Disney using the AAA rate for a room only. I purchased 10 day tickets separately. I didn't get a package.

Since August 5th starts value season I plan on going then. If by some slight chance that Disney offers the free dining again, I understand that in order to take advantage of the free dining I have to book a package including the tickets and pay rack rate.

My question is, if I book through AAA do I get the AAA discount on the room rate even if I book a package or does AAA charge the rack rate on the rooms when they book a package?

Thanks for any info you can give.

aaa discounted room only rates can be booked through either Disney or AAA.

AAA dicounted packages MUST be booked with AAA. The discount is the exact same as if you were booking a room only. It is only the straight percent off the room part of the package. If free dining is offered you will lose your aaa discount to take advantage of the free dining discount....1 discount per package.

I was under the impression that there was NO AAA room discount if you booked a package with dining (not free dining, we're paying for it). If I was wrong, please let me know and I will call AAA in the morning to ask for a price quote. We booked week before last through DIsney, but if I can get a better deal I would love to.

You get a discounted room on packages booked through AAA with paid dining.

There MAY be a room discount. As I understand it, there is a limited number of rooms that they apply the AAA discount to. If all those rooms are booked, no more AAA discounts.

I just booked our trip Saturday through AAA and I did get the 20% off value season with the DDP for August at Pop. AAA saved us about $170
