A few points left, what can I do with them?

We originally had planned a trip to Hilton Head and WDW in the second half of October 2013. In November I booked a Lake View Studio at our home resort Bay Lake Tower for 5 nights and then in March a studio at Hilton Head for 3 nights.

During that time I was in the application process for a new job and in April I was informed that I had been approved and the training for that job would start on October 21 which would be right in the middle of the planned vacation.

So I had to re-arrange everything pretty much last minute (as far as DVC booking processes are concerned). As will still be working in my old job until end of september, only the first 2 october weeks would be possible for a vacation now.

I was really lucky to still get a HHI studio for 3 nights and I even could get a lake view studio at BLT for 3 nights, but no luck for the first 2 nights at WDW there so I started to look around at other options and could book a Savannah View Studio at Jambo House. Either because Jambo House is cheaper than BLT or because of the changed stay dates, I needed 13 points less than with my original booking.

If I understand the rules correctly, as those points had been used before for a reservation and then moved back into my account, I can no longer bank them into the next use year or sell them to anyone else.

I then tried to find change my studios to a 1BR or upgrade to Concierge at AKV, but nothing was available that would have allowed me to use the points.

Is there any other possibility that I might have overlooked how I could use the points instead of losing them. I realize it's not a huge amount but still feel it would be a shame.

So any ideas are appreciated.

What is your UY for the points in question?

They have originally been borrowed from 02/14 into the current UY,that's why I can't bank them back. Had to look through the statements.

Were all of the points borrowed?

Can you use the borrowed points for the new reservation and bank some of the current year points?

All other points have already been banked.

I guess my mistake was that when I was looking for a replacement accomodation for the unavailable BLT days, I originally jumped for a 1 BR at OKW and only a bit later also found an availability for a Savannah Studio at Jambo house for 13 points less. So I cancelled OKW and booked AKV, happy to get a more special room (Savannah View) for less points, not realizing that those points saved had actually been borrowed.

the pts cannot be transferred (borrowed or banked pts can never be transferred - you can only move pts like that one time and the move is permanent). they cannot be donated in a general sense.

all you can do is find someone who needs a studio for 1 night for 13 pts or less and make a deal to rent that reservation...
