A few pictures from yesterday's Chicago area DIS meet

A few pictures from the second half of this weekend's Chicago DIS meet. On
Friday, <a href="http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=355983">we had a nice time at Gino's East</a>, for Chicago pizza. Seems like it
is getting to be tradition here
in Chicago to precede the main meet with a
'pre-meet' at Gino's. Always fun and tasty.

On Saturday, we again met, this time up at the Cracker Barrel restaurant in
Gurnee, IL. Always time for a little shopping and talk ahead of lunch.
Here, from the left, are DIS meet newcomers, BriarRosie (Lori), with red tag
on coat, cgcw (Cindy), white shirt, MarkRG (Mark), in white hat, Mark's DW,
WDWLVR (Mary), hand on chin and not a DIS meet newcomer, helenabear (Elaine),
back to camera. Lots of new DIS meet folks here at this one, that's
great!!!

And here is my DW, Lady M (Marie), in stripes, Big V (Scott), his DW, Pam, in
yellow and one half of We4mickey, Lynn. Her son, Matt, is in the very
right of the picture.

Here I am peeking over some boxes at Lori, Cindy and Mark. I think Lori
was teaching them how to do a parade wave.

Now, finally in the dining room for a really good Cracker Barrel lunch.
Here are the Fulcer's, little Abby, Jeff, Gael, and brisully's friend,
Brittany. Great smiles. Abby is learning (she will show you by the
end that she learns well).

It was great to see Jaimee and her son, Isaiah again. More great
smiles.

And We4mickey, Matt, George and Lynn. It has been about two years since
I saw this nice DIS family, great to see you guys again. And again, those
smiles.

Here we have Scott and Pam, always great to see you guys, and those
smiles. Good to hear you are feeling better after your surgery, Scott.

Mark and Mary brought a couple great scrap books of their DVC members' DCL
cruise. It was great to see those books, very well done. Hope to see
you guys at future Chicago meets, now that you did your first non-cruise one
here. Great lime green shirt, Mary.

Brian learned the parade wave well from Lori, while Dopeygirl (Tricia)
practices her eyes closed/big smile routine. She does it well.

And Cindy and Lori, again, two new DIS meeters who said they will be back.

And Marie and NancyIL, our champion Priceline DIS'er. Sure is nice to
see Marie at the meets of late.

And I had to slip in while I could for a picture of the photo man, LOL, with
Marie and Nancy. Isaiah keeps busy in the background.

And now it is lunch time. Great food at the Cracker Barrel. If
you have never visited one, try it, great. And again, Jaimee and Isaiah.

On our way out, getting ready to head over to Gurnee Mills Mall for the
second leg of the meet, I saw this cute 'baby/bunny' in the Cracker Barrel gift
shop. Lots of stuff to buy there for sure.

The Fulcer's again, both Brittany and Abby were so good ALL day, and it was a
long day.

After the afternoon at the mall food court, we headed over to the Branding
Iron BBQ for dinner. Here Jeff shows how limber he is by crawling under a
railing to get over to the table. At this point he is on the floor.

And so concludes another Chicago DIS meet, an evening at Gino's Pizza and
a full day odyssey in Gurnee. Lot of first-timer DIS meeters, always nice
to meet. Looking forward to the next one. I did hear hints of a June
one that Tricia may be heading up. Would love it.

And I'm not heading up the June one!! You know I hate that and since I'm officially on the countdown to leaving Chicago, I've decided that I don't have to plan any others!! :teeth:

I will, though, put up a post in a week or two to start the ball rolling for a June meet!

I'm getting red X's too, but did want to drop to note to say how much fun we had at our first Chicago area DIS meet! We were able to stay for the first two parts and left about 5 pm. Sorry we missed dinner, but work at home was calling us.

We will definately be at future meets and hope there is one in June as we have to miss Patrick Con

(we have tickets for the Nascar races at Joliet that weekend).

Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome. Glad you liked the pictures - we have lots of fun putting the books together.

WOW...looks like we missed a great time. Hope we can make the next one but I hate to say this - I think I need a double....I looked at the calendar for something else this weekend and I don't have an open weekend until, and this is a HUGE maybe, May 24 and then after that not one open until June 21 (if that!!!). YIKES!!!!

Sorry I missed all the oldies and the newbies....glad to meet you all through the pics though! Sorry to have missed George and Lynn - what great people....and I did go by the sign to their little town about a month ago - I waved as I went by

For those of you who don't yet know, Jim and I are leaving Chicago at the end of the year. He joined the military a couple months ago. We don't know where we'll be moving or when exactly we'll be moving (November or December).
