A few Magic Bands questions

Hi there,

We are taking our first WDW trip since the magic bands came out and I have two questions I'm hoping someone can answer.

We got the meal plan linked to our tickets. So, if my husband stands in line while my son and I save a table, can he order all of our food? Or do we need to be there for them to scan each band individually?

Also, if I order a fun magic band online, how do I have that linked to my reservation?

Yes, any member of your party linked together can order food.

I'm not sure about #2, but I'm sure it's easy.

There will be instructions that come with the specialty bands but it is super easy. Just go to your MDE act and go to Magic Bands and Cards and you'll have the option to link the bands to individuals on your acct.

I bought a Grumpy magic band through the Disney Parks app and it was a nightmare to get it connected to the MDE. It required getting an IT person involved. The Stormtrooper one I bought through the online Disney Store was easy to get connected to the MDE. I'm not saying this is the norm by any means, but it did happen to me. I felt sorry for the woman at the registration desk who tried to help me as well as the IT guy. They were very nice and very patient, but I would never want to go through all that again.

Just so that you're aware...there are certain places that will not let you "save a table". i know when I was there last year, people atCosmic Rays were being approached by CMs if they did not have food. ...not trying to be 'debbie downer'...just letting you know.

I ordered a Nemo magic band on-line from the Disney store. My experience with linking it to my MDE account ticket was very easy. I logged onto my MDE account. There was a link or something about adding a Magic Band. I clicked on the link and entered the code on the back of the Magic Band. That was it. My tickets showed my "card" ticket and my Magic Band, and my family's tickets.
We were in WDW earlier this month. The Magic Band worked like a charm. Every entrance to the park, I got a green light. I have had problems in the past with the cards and the finger scan thing. No problem with the Magic Band.
I know others have had problems. This is just my experience.
