A few last minute questions before booking

We are booking a last minute 3 day trip on the Dream. Had a few questions:

On the Dream, would you choose a room with a connecting door or one right near the elevator (our only cruise did not have a connecting door so don't know if noise between the rooms is an issue)?

Can I use two disney gift cards when booking online, then the balance on a credit card?

Can I pay for parking at the port and prepay tips at the same time as the online booking?

Thanks!

I would go with the connecting door room. We have had them and do not hear any extra noise.

To use multiple cards you may have to call but I'm not positive about that.

Paying for parking does not go through DCL. Not positive about paying for tips at time of booking. I think you have to call for this. Which can be done at anytime before cruising.

We had a connecting door and it was awful. I really think the man next door was abusing his children. We could hear all sorts of screaming. Being near the elevator is convenient, but you will get more noise as everyone comes by your door.

We generally end up with rooms with connecting doors and most times it is okay. There have been a few occasions when it was not all that great, but after you get used to it, you just don't hear it anymore. Much like the parents in the cabin next to us recently, who either did not hear their screaming kids or heard but ignored it. :)

Since you want to prepay gratuities and pay with a couple of gift cards, you would be better off calling Disney to book as opposed to doing that online. You can prepay gratuities upon booking if you call it in.

As for prepaying for parking..that is separate from Disney and goes thru Port Canaveral. There is plenty of room to park and I have never pre paid for that.

Just got off the phone and we are booked!
Based on the above two posts, we went with the room close to elevators without connecting door.
Could not figure out the gift cards online, the person I talked to was very helpful.
The price was actually $80 cheaper than online?? Maybe they just changed the prices and were not reflected online (about 60 days out)?
I was able to prepay gratuities with booking.
Thanks for all the input!! Appreciate it!

Congratulations!
They location of your cabin that you chose might have something to do with the price difference as well. Sometimes that happens. :)

On our last cruise we had a room with a connecting door near the elevator. I occasionally heard the man next door through the connecting door (no words, he just had a very low deep voice and I could hear it kind of rumbling) but it wasn't loud or disruptive or anything and wasn't frequent. We've often stayed near an elevator and rarely hear much from it.

If you have a person staying next to you who is loud or shouting, it won't matter if you have a connecting door or not - you will hear it. Generally it's not an issue.
