Hey everyone! We were back down at DCA this weekend and we wanted to get a couple of photos of some of things we mentioned in our last ToT report, mainly the "hallway".

I'm not sure why this bothers me so much. Maybe it's because I'm so used to the Florida version not having it, but for some reason it just makes the the elevator car seem very un-attached to the rest of the ride.

After being in a very well themed hotel lobby, library, and boiler room, you have to walk through this very plain-looking hallway to get into the elevator car.

And I think you'll all appreciate the photo of DCA's version of the "Tower Garden Queue"....or lack thereof! ;)

Anyway, the photos are here:

DCA Photo Update Including Some New Tower Photos!

Enjoy!

Server went down right after I posted the link.

It's back up now! :p

I definately agree with you on this! It is strange to see it set up like that in your picture. TOT is one of my favorite rides and that hallway looks like it does take something away from the feeling of stepping into the elevater. I have never been to DL and never plan on it. I love WDW and will not stray.

^ It would have been 'ok' (not perfect) if it had been done like Star Tours...where the gap from the loading area to the ride vehicle is at least more themed with the ride.

Walking across that hallway seems as though I had to step through a 'backstage' area to get to the ride!

Nice photos! There is a slim possibilty I'll be visiting CA in November, and if I do, I can't wait to try it out!

Perhaps they rely on people being so terrified that they wouldn't have a clue what their surroundings were like?
I went on WDW ToT and I have absolutely no recollection of anything to do with the pre-show apart from a black and white TV somewhere! My memories come back around the time I got off, mainly because I thought we were still at the top waiting to drop again, so I was screaming loudly!

Thanks for posting the pictures. I can't believe that "garden"! The one at the World is awesome! I don't like the hallway either. I guess those people in CA who haven't experienced FL wouldn't have a preconceived idea of what it "should" look like, but for those of us who love TOT it would be disappointing.

robbalvey-

Thanks for all of the great pics. I was especially ROTFLMAO with the Mother's Day fashion review captions. :hyper:
Wait 'til those people see their pics on here!

Very cool pictures and it does look very out of place having to cross a hallway to get to the actual ride part of Tower of Terror from where the service elevator opens. I guess it does make it easier for those who want to exit instead of ride at that point, versus Florida's elevator back out.

I have to wonder though if you had permission to put that big guy's picture up on your website for the sake of ridicule. Some lawyer could have a field day with that if he discovers it. It's happened before. Course if you know him, then that's a different story. :)

There's no cause of action for making fun of someone. What could the guy say, they slandered him by implying he's fat? Truth is a complete defense.

I have to agree with that. Saying the guy is fat is quite an understatement. He should have known he had a problem when he was dipping his funnel cake in mayonaisse.

That hallway could use some work. It does seem very out of place. If they can't paint it and severely age it, they should atleast darken it up. Some deep brown paint and dim lights would give it a complete turn around.

I have never been to California Adventure, and those pictures don't make me want to go. That looks a lot like Six Flags. I am not knocking Six Flags because I live between Six Flags St. Lous and Six Flags Great America (Chicago) and visit them both several times each summer...but if my family is needing some Disney magic...Disney World is the only place that could give us our fix.

Could we get some friggin vegatation around that park for crying out loud? It looks like New Jersey!

^ LOL! That's what I thought too!
