A & E, no FP+ available 60 days out !

NO ONE HERE (including me) is suggesting any characters be visible in duplicate AT THE SAME TIME. Sorry to shout, but HOLY COW.
I wasn't trying to imply you or anyone else were suggesting that - nothing in my post says that. All I'm saying is that maintaining the illusion might include a little more than just not having multiple characters visible simultaneously. ISTR they used to close down the Mickey M&G in Town Square while he was also in the parade, so kids wouldn't wonder how he got from the parade to the M&G. But I agree, different lines into the same building to meet the "same" character should be enough for kids who still believe in the characters.

I agree with them doing this as well, btw. That of course, is different than having two sequestered duplicate pairs in the same building/location. Under a system such as I outlined no kid would ever have to wonder such things as there would be no logic gaps such as the above example presents for kids to detect.

I think we all agree that more A&E meet opportunities would be a good thing. We seem to be disagreeing on the minor point of to what lengths Disney should go to to make everyone happy. There are other considerations to figure into the whole equation, and I'm sure none of us here are privy to all of them.

That said, my opinion means no more or no less than anyone else's here. :goodvibes

My 60 day window opened at 12am this morning, and I immediately went to our last day in the park (Friday May 22) to book my A&E FP for my DD, DH and I. To my surprise there was NOTHING opened! But finally I found an open time slot for Thursday May 21 at 6:40-7:40. I was so relieved when I found this time slot as it was the only one I could find. I did get all my other FP+ wishes though. The one confusing thing about the MDE app, or at least the app on my IPhone is that when I was selecting A&E for Friday the 22nd, under the available time slots instead of marking that A&E was standby only, it just showed times for Cinderella and Rapunzel. It took me a minute to figure out what the heck was going on, my husband who has a droid phone, saw on his app that A&E was standby only, mine did not show that. So after a brief panic attack, I quickly chose another day and found an open time slot for Thursday.

In theory, yes, but in practice, no. Even I, as stubborn as I can be, tend to give extra weight to someone like you who has given so much time and thought to the many different aspects of Disney and its parks.

Wait Anna & Elsa at Magic Kingdom aren't the real Anna & Elsa???

Ooh crap. Well, you see NJlauren, Anna and Elsa are a VERY BUSY Queen and princess, with ruling a kingdom and planning a wedding and all, so sometimes they need... helpers... to make sure they get to meet everyone who wants to meet them. But I know that all the helpers get together with Anna and Elsa every single night, and tell them about all the wonderful people they met that day, and tell them every single thing every one one of those wonderful people said. In fact, that's why they have a person there taking pictures! So the helpers can show Anna and Elsa how beautiful all the people they met were! Now how about some ice cream?

(How'd I do?)

I'd just lead with the ice cream.

Yeah, my 2 year, 350 day old daughter last year actually noticed the difference between the FOF parade Anna and the one we met two days later. I managed to convince her I couldn't see any difference (all the while feeling vaguely guilty for the lie). Sheesh. Some kids.

Personally I always felt that if one of our kids was old enough to question the imaginary belief that the characters were real, they were old enough to be told they weren't.

But even after that we still pretend they are real (even though my 5 kids are 12 through 20 now)...because it's fun! ;)

I tend to agree, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it before she was even three.

Very well now where is my Mickey bar! :flower1:

The idea is fine...but how would that be enforced? How would the CM handlers in the room with the characters know which guests in each group can take pictures (by virtue of having an FP) and which ones can't? Wouldn't checking everyone (again) slow down each meet?

Yeah, I know. I was just thinking about my FP the other day and how I was going to try for 6 (3 adults & 3 kids) and the adults do not care to meet the princesses. I understand wanting to see your kids meet them, but the actual event that takes up time is meeting them. Kind of like using a FP for Splash and then taking the chicken exit. Your not actually riding the ride and taking up a seat.

When I try for our Anna and Elsa FP+s, I will be aiming to get them for 7 people, only 3 of those will be kids. Why? Because it makes the grandparents (and parents) happy to see the kids happy. I don't care if that is selfish and keeping another group of 3 from seeing A&E. I am not making the FP+ just for 4 and going in with the 3 kids by myself.

I never said it was selfish. I was thinking of my own scenario, similar to yours, where the adults are not actually meeting the princesses. I understand wanting to see your kids meet them, but it's not the same as taking the time for an autograph, chat & picture(s).

I read on the one of the blogs that they are building a new M&G area for them in the Norway Pavillion in Epcot. I'm hoping this new area will include not only the girls but Olaf as well since he is who my DD loves. She'll settle for meeting Elsa and Anna but Olaf is her love so I'm really hoping they add him!

I would suspect when this new area opens it will have a frozen themed backdrop and probably take a lot of the heat away from the MK M&G but that's just conjecture on my part. The real question is- WHEN will they finish it! Probably going to take their sweet time and open it with the new Frozen ride which just sucks that it takes them that long

They are apparently trying to get the Frozen ride open by this Christmas season 2015, whether that will happen or not we'll have to wait and see, and I'm assuming they Meet and Greet would open round the same time but there is no official date as of yet, and no word on what the M&G will be like. The original Norway M&G had a Frozen backdrop and Disneyland's M&G had an animatronic Olaf at the entrance, but the building itself is really pretty big and will maybe include some type of little show like Enchanted Tales with Belle
