A dumb question about entrance to park from Disneyland Hotel

I have never stayed at the Disneyland Hotel before and the layout is confusing me.

Do you have to come out of the side of the hotel (main entrance) and walk around and through the front entrance to the park or is there a short cut.

No doubt I will have more questions later.

Hi, we came out of the DLH entrance and then entered the Park through the 'side' gates to the right of the main central entrance. It was only a short distance.
