A Dream of a Dream

5 POUNDS of choco!!?? How could you restrain yourselves??

Now that I think back on it I wish I had bought it. It would have made an awesome Christmas present for one of my brothers. They would never see it coming.

Ah nutz! Your restaurant was closed! I'm sorry!

We were a bit annoyed. First, what kind of restaurant is not open for dinner at 7pm? Second, they had the open sign on!

I know you all have been dying to know where we went for dinner since Planet Hollywood was so inconsiderate in not being open. ;)

Well we didn't want to venture far as we were starving and right next door was our hotel complex and part of that complex was the Hard Rock Cafe!

We crossed our fingers that it would be open and made our way in.

We were in luck! It was indeed open, not busy though, I think there were maybe 4 other tables occupied.

First thing we did was order some drinks. ;)

What a lush!

We ran into our elevator buddy from earlier. When we first arrived at the hotel earlier that afternoon we had to make our way from the parking garage to the hotel which involved taking two elevators and walking through two hotels. Well the entire way we had a stalker in the form or a very nice older gentleman. Well he just so happened to be eating with his wife at the table right next to us.

Our waitress saw us with our flat friends and she thought it was the funniest thing ever. She offered to take a group picture.

Well it was a stroke of luck that Planet Hollywood was closed because our meal at the Hard Rock was awesome! Pricey but awesome!

Brittany and Kyah both loved their food.

I decided to get the Twisted Mac and Cheese with chicken. I also really wanted to try the White Cheddar smashed potatoes so I decided to splurge and order it as a side.

It was all so good and very filling. My stomach hurt it was so full, I couldn't finish the potatoes even though they were so yummy.

After dinner we made our way back up to the room to get changed into some warm and comfy clothes.

Naughty Erin, trying to cop a feel. ;)

I wanted to go back down to the falls to get some nighttime pictures. I told the girls to stay in the room if they were tired but they decided to come with me. Don't they look pleased?

It was freezing out there but very pretty.

They turned the lights to white before I got any shots of the Horseshoe Falls. It was too chilly to wait around and wait for the colours to come back so I resolved to just come back the next night.

Your Falls updates are bringing back so many memories. That food from the Hard Rock looks fantastic. We have one in Nashville and I don't know if it's been affected by the flooding or not...shoot...now I have to go look because I'm curious. :lmao: Great updates Lessa!:goodvibes

Hopefully it hasn't!

I went to Niagara Falls as part of my Gr.8 graduation trip and ate at the Hard Rock.

All I really remember was the high price....but they had AMAZING desserts

I haven't been back since. If I have extra cash, I should visit it.

The prices are high but the food quality is amazing! Taste is excellent and the portions are big.

Love Hershey stores and the Hard Rock. I forgot how big the portions were until I saw your pics.

That's my kind of meal- high calorie and fattening! ::yes::

Your pix of the falls are amazing! The lights on them are soooooooo pretty!

The portions were enormous! It was a real struggle to finish my meal and I felt obligated to eat at least some of the potatoes since I had ordered them. I think I only managed a few forkfuls before I just couldn't eat any more.

 What is amazing is that I lost 2 pounds while on the trip, I thought for sure I would gain!

It stinks that PH was closed--but I think y'all came out much better at the Hard Rock. Those drinks looked SO yummy. The one reminded me of the Bon Voyage that they serve on the ships. And the food didn't look to bad either! Good for your friends for being such good sports and going back down to the falls with you...the night-time shots are gorgeous!

Haha, it's probably cause of all the walking you did! Last time I went, me and Andrew walked all the way from FallsView to Clifton Hill and back. It's a long walk, but pretty nice

I agree, we were better off eating at the Hard Rock.

They were good sports, especially considering my constant stopping for pictures all the time.

 I did that every morning! I always woke up hours before my friends (usually around 6am) so I walked from my hotel all the way down to Table Rock and then back again. I usually walked partway up Clifton Hill as well to get breakfast from Tim Hortons. I wonder how far I walked each morning?

I'm going to get an actual PTR update out this week and coming up later tonight the next Niagara Falls update.

I did not sleep well that first night in Niagara Falls even though I had a bed to myself (Britt and Kyah were the lucky ones who got to share). I don't usually sleep well out of my own bed and on top of that Kyah and Brittany were snoring like crazy. Both of them had stuffed noses so that just added to the problem. I was tossing and turning all night while listening to the "melodic" rhythm of their wheezing and snoring. At one point I was asleep but got woken up when Kyah fell out of her bed. :lmao:

At 6am I just gave up on sleep and decided to start my day. The others were still sleeping so I had a quick shower and decided to go for an early morning walk down by the falls. I left them a note telling them were i had gone and when to expect me back so that they wouldn't freak if they woke up and found me gone.

It was really nice down by the falls that early in the morning as there was almost nobody else out, just a few joggers and some gardeners working in the park.

I took my time and really enjoyed the scenery and it was nice to be able to get pictures without getting in the way (or have somebody get in my way ;)) and I also didn't need to worry about making Kyah and Britt wait around for me while I took pictures.

It was chilly that morning but not too bad. I was nice and toasty in my college sweatshirt. The hood came in handy too as the mist from the falls that morning was really crazy, especially as I got closer to the Horseshoe Falls. I didn't need to take a shower that morning, the mist would have been sufficient. ;)

This is the Table Rock Centre. It houses gift shops, a food court, restaurant, information/ticket desk and two of the main attractions: Niagara's Fury and Journey Behind the Falls.

See how wet the sidewalk is and all the puddles? That is from the mist, if it weren't for my hoodie I would have been drenched.

IMG_8452.jpg

IMG_8453.jpg

I decided to walk through the park on the way back instead of by the falls for two reasons 1) The mist wouldn't reach me there  2) I wanted to enjoy the gardens.
