A Dream of a Dream

Oh wow!! Your beautiful pictures bring back memories!! I went to Niagra Falls my Junior year of high school (Spring 1996) on a choir trip. I will never forget taking the boat ride out to the falls in those blue ponchos--it was incredible!! As our boat was coming back it crashed into the dock and I went flying and bruised up my leg! Crazy--but definitely a memory!!

 That is definitely not something you would forget. Kyah was afraid about going on the Maid of the Mist, she thought we would crash into the rocks and drown.:lmao:

awesome shots of the falls, thanks for sharing them, and i liked your artsy ones with the flowers in them, what kinda camera do you have?

Look what came in the mail this week!

The card with Goofy and Mickey outlines my important dates:

February 28 - That's when I can book excursions and Palo if I have paid in full by then

March 15 - Full payment is due

May 29 - The cruise!

The other booklet just has general information about documents you need to travel, air arrangements, packing suggestions, etc.

It is always exciting to get Disney mail!

The Maid of the Mist! I remember that too! I've only ever been on that twice in my life. I love that ride, but it's a bit pricey. I always go to the less expensive, behind the falls experience. Still very cool

That's so awesome! My free dvd about DCL still hasn't arrive in the mail yet...

I remember when the package from our Royal Caribbean cruise arrived. I read about EVERYTHING

You stayed at the same place I did last time I stayed there. Funny story - short version. 4th anniversary with the ex. (common-law) Made all the nice plans including falls side, high floor etc. Even got upgraded. By the time we got back to the room that night to relax and enjoy the view it was so foggy you couldn't see the street below let alone the falls. :rotfl: Guess it was a sign. We didn't make it to 5 years.

Lessa if you ever get tired of nursing you'll have a career in photography. It may be just a point and shoot but you use it well! You capture more than just pictures. You capture a feeling. :goodvibes It's a talent.

eta: Almost forgot...congrats on getting your cruise package. I'm excited for you!

 That is too bad about the fog though. I hope you at least got to enjoy the outdoors before the fog rolled in?

Thanks! :goodvibes I just LOVE taking pictures. I think my friends got kind of exasperated with my constant stopping for pictures.:laughing:

Nothing more fun than Mickey mail- at least until you get there!! ;)

Great update. I love Niagra Falls. We went there every spring break from the time I was in first grade until I was a sophmore in high school. Your pictures are amazing and make me want to go back.

How fun! I would like to go back someday, in the summer though although the falls look really amazing in the winter.

I grabbed a few final pictures of the falls and then we started to make our way back, I was freezing!

The bummer about traveling to Niagara Falls in the off season is that all the fountains and ponds have been drained and lots of the restaurants and businesses have reduced hours.

The Crowne Plaza, formerly the Brock. The most historic hotel in the Falls. This is where I stayed the only other time I had visited. Unfortunately on that trip we were only there for one night and I was super sick so we didn't get to do anything. Our hotel was connected to this one as part of the Falls Avenue complex. The complex has the two hotels, the Hard Rock, Rainforest Cafe, Casino Niagara, Hershey Store, Coke Store, Arcade and Water Park all connected by indoor walkways.

It was right around 7pm and we really starting to get hungry and we decided to eat at Planet Hollywood which was right next door. We stopped in at the Hershey Store first though. Considering how hungry we were (hadn't eaten since breakfast) we exercised amazing restraint.

It all looked so good. I knew I would be making a trip back to the store before the end of the trip.

Unfortunately the doors to the restaurant were locked even though the sign said it was open. There was another entrance in the back so we went around that way but it was also locked. :headache: It was only 7pm! I guess Planet Hollywood doesn't get enough business in the off-season to stay open on a Wednesday night. Well that plan was a bust, so we had to find somewhere else for dinner and hope that it was open.

My brother would've LOVED that 1lb Reese cup. He loves Reese's.

I can't believe in all the times I've been there, I've never been in the Hershey store!

5 POUNDS of choco!!?? How could you restrain yourselves??

Ah nutz! Your restaurant was closed! I'm sorry!
