A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: Updated, new timeline, etc.

I'm sitting on my mattress on the floor. Boxes piled all around me. :sad1: The movers finally arrived today to pack. This morning I took the girls and dog out first to the dog park then one last visit to Mount Vernon (yes they allow dogs!). It was sad. :( I almost started crying leaving. Came home and grabbed a sandwich then off to the library to print our water park passes. Spent the afternoon with dear neighbor and her boys. Neither of us know what we'll do without the other. :worried:

Anyway two more sleeps in this house and it's off on another adventure.

Moving over and finally have internet again. Still surrounded by boxes. Haven't found two of my sewing machines yet. Got to be in here somewhere. I've missed this forum and my Disney planning!

:sad1: Spouse's boss has said no to our dates. I'm so bummed. We are now looking at the week after but that means paying money for an upgraded room view since all others in our category are sold out and trying to reschedule all the reservations for meals and BBB.

Well I now have three Disney vacations reserved. 1) Our original plan. If we stay with this spouse will not be able to go and the girls and I will need to get airfare and an extra room night somewhere. 2) The week after our original. Spouse can go, we'll get free dining, but there are ZERO ADR's to be had. 3)The week before Thanksgiving. Free dining is supposed to be made public for this week. I've got all my ADR's just like in the original plan. Spouse is supposed to be changing jobs between now and then so who knows if he'll be able to go. But we will then go to Thanksgiving at my family's in Northern Florida. So two weeks vacation instead of one.

:upsidedow

So much has changed since my last update! I've just booked a POR Royal Room Garden View for November 17-22. It was only $150 more for the total than the original September trip in POFQ standard room. So I have to change a few ADR's but nothing I can't handle, feeling like a pro at this now.

My only question...Had originally planned to drive down overnight on Friday. Now that we have Saturday I'm thinking we'll drive down that night, stay off site in Kissimmee and arrive refreshed on Sunday morning. WWYD dear readers? It adds another night in a hotel and day's food on the road but I don't want spouse and I to be grumpy the first day.

Off to check crowd calendars, recommended parks, and change those ADR's. Will call for BBB in a few hours. :wizard:

Hi :wave2: just bounced over here from my dining review. This is a great PTR. I'm so impressed with your sewing, and the clothes will be that much more special because they're homemade.

It sounds like you have a great trip coming up in November. As far as your question goes, I don't know the answer. I really don't know anything about driving into Orlando or where Kissimmee is in relation to Orlando...but I say being nearer to Disney first thing in the morning might be worth it. That way, you get your full day's worth out of your park tickets or resort, as well as extra vacation time. I'm famous for trying to squeeze in as much time as possible (hence all the midnight arrivals we make because I insist on leaving after our last day of work instead of the next morning!).

Whichever you decide, I'm sure it will be great!

DLFan thanks so much! I've been away from the forums a bit but now it's crunch time! Everything needs to be updated but for now here's some sewing.

Here is the first outfit finished for Izzy for November trip (will add turtleneck and leggings if it gets cold).

I Love all your fabrics! Where do get them besides Joann?

A lot of the fabrics for this wardrobe are from Wal-Mart or Joanns. However, I spent 2 years in Korea which is were the bulk of my stash is from. :goodvibes

We were supposed to be leaving for the World this Friday. Good thing we're not because I've only just finished Izzy's second outfit!

Start of Christmas present sewing. Bitty Baby outfits.

I like the idea of giving the doll outfits for Christmas. I was wanting to make matching doll outfits for DD's WDW clothes, but I didn't really want to take them with us. I think I might be copying that idea :)

Please do! I should have some boy doll outfits soon. :goodvibes

Can't wait to see them! DD only has one boy doll, and it is really small so I only plan to make girl clothes. Although I'm not sure why I'm going to bother. Right now she prefers all of her babies to be naked. Hoping she grows out of that soon :)

Snow White skirt with all seven dwarfs machine embroidered and then their names hand embroidered. :fainter: And yes I know it needs ironing but after 30 minutes in the theme park I don't think it will matter. lol

I've been so busy sewing that I haven't had time to post! Spouse has an interview next week for a command which if he receives will keep him from going after all. So frustrating after I changed the trip in order to accommodate him but we'll go with or without him.

Magic bands arrived today! It's really happening! I have got to get this pre-trip report finished.

Oh I ordered green for me since no more purple, Izzy gets pink, Spouse red and D blue.

Honestly I've been staying away from the forums do to the extreme negativity. I've been using web forums since 1994 and have never seen such back-biting, complaining, and pessimistic posts. I try to ignore the posts but sometimes it's impossible. The other thing keeping me away is the huge number of questions/issues that get posted again and again and again. It's like no one knows how to use the search function or go to page two.

I started this pre-trip report for me, to help organize everything that needed to be done. I very much doubt I'll be back to do a post trip report. If I report back happy and satisfied 50% of the forum will accuse me of kowtowing to Disney. If I come back miserable and unhappy 50% will say I did everything wrong.

Hi! I'm sorry you are so discouraged. It sounds to me like you are going to have a great time and lots of fun! You have such spirit I think you can make it wonderful despite all the nonsense here. I have noticed the negativity and all the sniping back and forth between some people. Let's forget it, sprinkle some disney magic pixie dust and be on our way......second star to the right and straight on till morning. Disney hugs!
