A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

I'm the only one with an AP... so you don't all have to get them. We find it works out for me to get one if it can cover two trips because we always stay off-site for some portion of our trips, so we get free parking. Plus we buy the Tables in Wonderland card to gret 20% off most of our dining. And don't forget 10% off all of your souvenirs. ;) No minimum like with the Disney Visa. There are also some lunches you can get 10% off with an AP... I know Teppan Edo offers that. So check out all of the benefits.

You definitely have to plan ahead & know when your next trip will be though.

Oh that's a good idea to just get one.....Never thought of that. Thanks for all the great info. I will have to get working on that! :thumbsup2

What a fun Dis meet! That's great the kiddos are so close in age and get along so well. :goodvibes

And congrats on your new trip Shelly!! We had originally wanted to go during that time frame but it doesn't work for us. I have read that all Easter crowds are long gone by then. I think it'll be great for you guys! :yay:

It was a fun time!

Thank you Kelli! :) I hope it ends up being a good time to go!! :wizard:

Well shoot! Oh well, maybe AirTrain will come out with good deals.

Usually about 6 weeks out they drop a little. I never have the patience to wait, but since I booked so close to the trip I might as well wait it out this time:wizard: .....Hopefully that doesn't end up biting me in the butt!!

Shelly~ I was looking at the flights for April on SW again And the dates you're going are like $104- weekend that's really good!! isn't it?

The best I'm seeing for my dates are $139 with SW. :sad2: Flights out of PGH used to be about $59-$69 a few years ago. Now about the best I see is $89, so I'm holding out for that or close to it! :wizard:

HELP!!!
I finally fixed my ticker and now it's cut off~ why???

I can see it!! Looks good! :cool1:

:welcome:

sorry, I was looking at PVD and BDL, but I thought PGH would be cheaper or about the same

I can see it!! Looks good! :cool1:

But the bottom of it is cut off~ you I don't see the months and days left. :confused3

PGH used to be home of the low airfares, not anymore I guess. :confused3

I can see your bottom line with the months and days..... I'm on my laptop though. I know when I'm on my desktop I can never see anyone's tickers, the screen is different and cuts them off I guess.

That's so weird! Well at least someone can see it lol :rotfl:

Well it says "3 Months and 4 Days until our next family vacation"!!! :cool1: That's 2 weeks less than mine. Lucky!!

Seems like a trend we have going. We were there right before you in Aug. now April. I guess we'll have to plan the next trip a little better. Maybe someday we'll have a Dis meet ;)
Just curious~ when is your kids spring break?

Lucky, I can't wait to start planning ours for next year.....

-M

Good luck with your planning! :goodvibes

I know!! :upsidedow I feel like I am always just a few steps behind you! :rotfl: Do your kids have off at the time you are going? We don't really have a spring break to speak of. We have a Friday and a Monday off in the middle of March, but let's face it -- that's still winter here! We have very few breaks during the schools year, but we get 12 full weeks off in the summer and don't start back until after Labor Day!

I should have guessed , you being the great trip planner that you are, that you would have made ADRs for your trip if you had dates picked even before booking the resort........Good Thinking :thumbsup2

Getting one AP for the room discounts is a good idea I want to try to talk DH into booking the BB when we are there and getting that Fall or Christmas trip finally but it is a toss up, maybe I should just update our tickets to AP's but then what if we don't end up going, it would be better to book the BB since if we need to change dates no money would be lost.
I am thinking it all depends on what resort you want to stay at, the new AP rates that just came out is 35% on Deluxe so it's a good deal on say the Poly or GF but CR was not included and it's only 5% more than the GP offer for YC/BC BWI

My head hurts everytime I try priceing it all out to see what is best.

Late April into May should be a great time to visit, I have only ever gone mid-April or late May.

Almost forgot I heard them talking about oil prices rising again and gas being $5 by May so not sure how low airfares will go down but I wish you luck. We had to pay $131 each way which was not bad, gone are the $99 fares they use to offer from my area to Orlando.

My kids do have a vacation the week we're going.
We also go back after Labor Day but I bet your kids probably get out earlier in June.

Deb :)

I knew when I popped on here and I was 5 pages behind that there was some kind of big news that you had announced! Sure enough it was! I'm so excited for you! I want to stay at the BC so badly! That is at the top of my list! Can't wait to read all about those plans!

Loved all the pics from around the Poly. That place is so pretty with all the fountains and flowers! I've got to get over there and see it during the day. We've always gone at night and you just can't appreciate it as much in the dark. Love the pic of you and the boys with you leis on! :thumbsup2 So glad you got to see Jodi as well! How exciting to have a friend at Disney at the same time as your family!

I always like to prepare ahead, just in-case! :thumbsup2

I haven't had the time to do all the crazy Disney math yet. Maybe later today. I hope you get to book a bounceback when you are there!! :wizard:

I am worried about the gas prices rising too....Not sure of I should book the airfare now or wait it out....:confused3

5 pages behind!! :scared1: Well I didn't intend for it to be a big announcement or anything, but once I put the ticker up the secret was out! :rotfl:

Yes, you must visit the Poly during the day to fully appreciate it's beauty. :cloud9: Lots more Poly pics coming right up! :thumbsup2

After we were done visiting with Jodi & her kids and they had headed back to the GF, our kids got in the pool. There still weren't any open tables/chairs by the pool, so DH & I just moved to a closer table in the Captain Cooks outside seating area. We could see a good part of the pool from there and the kids would come and check in every few minutres.

Then I decided, since it was so handy and all, that it was Dole Whip time!!:yay::cloud9:

When the kids were done swimming we decided to take a little tour of the other side of the Poly that we hadn't seen yet. The GF side of the Poly.

First we had to stop into the arcade though!

Continued....

Pretty soon we found ourselves halfway to the GF, so we decided to keep going and try to get a peak at what exactly was behind those big ugly construction walls!

Unfortunately there wasn't too much to see behind those construction walls. But I will say that even though the construction walls were big & ugly, it wasn't near as bad as I was expecting after reading all the complaints about it here on the DIS before we left. There's not much they can do about trying to hide construction and I think they did a nice job with the palm trees and landscaping around it. It sure looked better than that mess at the MK!:scared1:

Up Next: More Poly fun!:cool1:

It looks like the monorail track goes right over the construction walls. Can you see anything from the monorail?
