A Dole Whip in my hand & my toes in the sand: CBR/Poly Split Stay – This Is The Life!

You're welcome! :goodvibes I can look up my room # if you want and you can ask for something in that area when you get there.

I am way ahead of you Shelly, as I re-read thru your TR I made a few notes,
#5283 no balcony, # 5296 balcony facing Epcot

Great minds think alike

At least now if I check-in and the CM tells me room 5283 I can plead for another before ever heading to the room, now to just find out the other 2 room numbers that have no balcony.

Hello!

I send you a message asking you something.
I read your and I wondered if it was possible that I translated, for three girls who want to travel with me in a few years can understand?
I would write just on Facebook, and we would be only 4 to read it.

I'm sorry if I made mistakes, I am Swiss!

Good day!

Hi there. I'm not sure what you are asking. I didn't receive any messages from you and I am not on Facebook. I'd be glad to help you if I can......

Well I am glad you are all prepared!! I think one of the rooms right beside 5283 doesn't have a balcony either. Take a look at the outside pics I posted of that window. I am thinking all the balcony-less rooms were in the same area.....

Yes I did see those pics of the balcony-less rooms, silly to fuss so about a balcony but it is one of the things I enjoy about the deluxe resorts, big draw back of staying at BC and Poly I don't like to gamble. ;)

I have decided to put DH in a super good mood right from the start, plan on heading to Big River Grill for lunch the day we arrive and he can get his Kobe burger :)

Thanks for your suggestions Shelly

After we were all done unpacking and settled into our Poly room DH & I decided to go on tour!

Our room was closer to the other side entrance/exit of the Hawaii building - not the main entrance on the CL/Check in side. So we headed out that exit and it comes out by the Tokelau building. From there we walked around to the front side of the Hawaii building.

My first Dole Whip of the trip and it was wonderful.

We walked back to the Hawaii building and called DS and had him come out on the balcony!

The kids wanted to go swimming. It was getting later into the afternoon and we had an ADR at 5:00. So we told them to hurry up and get ready and we would be right up and they could go for a quick swim in the quiet pool!

It was pretty quiet and empty that afternoon and the kids had fun!

It's not silly!! When you are paying that much you should have a balcony!::yes::

We didn't get to BRG this time, so we are really looking forward to it next time! :thumbsup2

WOW, you waited all that time for a Dole Whip?:scared1:

I know, right?! :eek::laughing:

That Dole whip looks delicious! I had my first Dole whip EVER on our last trip. It was so good and I cannot believe I have never had one prior to that!:scared1:
Looking forward to reading about your Chef Mickey dinner, we slept in and missed our breakfast ADR there a couple of weeks ago!

Those pictures of the Poly are beautiful and make me want to stay there one day. I have a plot  Booking a stay at the Poly and then trying to get his Mom to come, I have tried in fact we both have to get her to go places with us but she is afraid to fly, might have to drive :scared1: but she mentioned recently she would love to go to Hawaii after watching a show about Aulani well Poly is about as close as we can afford. :rotfl:

That dole whip so looked good

I am so excited to be seeing some Poly pics! I've never seen it during the day and I don't think I have ever read a TR from anyone who has stayed there. I can hardly believe that since I have read soooo many TRs. :confused3 It looks beautiful though! I love the waterfalls!

I know you loved having that dole whip machine right there to use any time you wanted! :thumbsup2

Sounds like a plan Rinky :thumbsup2 By the way your TR had me over on the Disney Cruise site checking to see if there was one for when we are going in March since I saved $$$ changeing resorts but it was sold out, I am guessing it was the maiden cruise for the fantasy? IDK still confused so back to the drawing board and considering again the 2-day cruise to nowhere out of NY just to get my feet wet.

I think the Fantasy does set sail in March. That might be what the problem was. But the Fantasy is only doing 7 night cruises I believe. You need to check prices for the Dream if you want a 3 or 4 night cruise. I bet they still have some availability. To me, the DCL website takes some getting used to. It's not 100% user friendly.

I think the cruise to nowhere is a good first time cruise. The only problem I have with it is that you don't get to go to Castaway Cay and that was by far the best part about the cruise. It would be a bummer to miss that. But at least you could see if you like it before you put too much $$ into it. Please keep us posted on what you decide! :)

Once again, beautiful Poly pictures! :goodvibes
Would you believe I've never had a Dole Whip? I know, I know... I shouldn't even be allowed on this board.
Aw, such cute ducks, haha.
I bet Chef Mickey's will be a fun update! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I'm not very understandable ...
On Facebook, we are a group of four girls Disneyfans. We want to leave Florida in a few years. So we are looking for TR to illustrate the Florida!
But as the three other girls do not speak English, I wondered if it was possible to translate your TR to post it in this group on Facebook. I would translate the text, with a link to your photos.

Ahhhh. The Poly.
:lovestruc :cloud9: :lovestruc :cloud9:

I could live there too. I would survive on Dole Whips, and the turkey with peanut sauce and potstickers from O'hana. (I don't think they're funky. They're just misunderstood.)

I am loving the pics! It looks like everyone is so happy and relaxed and just having a magical time. :wizard: :cloud9:

We used to go commando with our WDW trips and be up and going from sun up til sun down. But, the past few trips have been so much more laid back and we have definitely spent more time relaxing and just soaking everything in. When you stay at the nicer resorts it's easier to do that for sure.

Can't wait to hear more! popcorn::

Oh I can't wait to go!!!! 64 more days til we can spend a week at the Poly :woohoo:
Your pictures make me even more excited. I have seen somewhere that they are doing a beach sand overhual. And somewhere else there was a bad review of the Poly because they said the beach was getting really swampy looking. Did you notice any of that? Hopefully the renovation they are doing on the beach sand (which just sounds really funny to me) will make it nice and pretty again for us in Feb :cloud9:

Can't wait to see your Chef Mickey fun popcorn::

Shelly, how awesome that were able to get a dole whip at your own resort. Yum, yum!!! Is it just dole whip or do they have the floats as well? Those are heavenly!! A quick swim in the afternoon is fun too. :goodvibes

We sometimes choose to sleep in over a breakfast ADR too. Well unless it is Kona!! :cloud9:

WHAT??? :scared1::scared1::scared1: We'll let it slide for now -- but you must get a Dole Whip next time you are at WDW!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:rotfl:

Misunderstood potstickers :lmao::rotfl2:

The Poly just automatically puts you in a relaxed happy mood. :cloud9: You are right, the nicer resorts really force you to take it easy and soak in the surroundings. :lovestruc

YAY for 64 days!! :cool1: Lucky!!

I have read some of those complaints too. The only thing I can think of that didn't look exactly perfect was maybe the beach at the far end in front of the Tahiti building..... But it wasn't terrible looking.

It was great to be able to get Dole Whips right there! :thumbsup2

You can only get Dole Whips though, no floats. But the good part is that you pay the cashier for the cup and then you can put in as much as you can fit into it! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. :goodvibes

Let's see, when I last left off we were getting ready for dinner at Chef Mickey's.......:mickeyjum

After our time at the Poly quiet pool we went back up to the room and got showered and ready for dinner. I ran down the the CL check in desk to have them check my KTTW card from CBR to see how many TS credit's we had left. I was pretty sure we had 4 left and they needed to be used by midnight that night since we had checked out of CBR that day. One of the two CM's that had been there earlier when we checked in was still there. He was a younger man, probably in his 20's. I said to him – we were at CBR before we checked in here this morning......And before I could finish what I wanted to ask about the DDP credits he said – “Oh I won't judge you” :snooty: and laughed. I just smiled a little but was really thinking that was totally snobby and uncalled for. But whatever. Then I finished telling him that we had the DDP there which was expiring and asked if he could tell me how many credits we had left. He looked it up and we did have 4 TS credits, so that was good news – no OOP $$ for Chef Mickeys!

So I went back to the room and finished getting ready for dinner. We hoped on the monorail and were to the Contemporary in no time.

We checked in and waited about 10 minutes and were seated.

The food was good as always and the atmosphere very fun. But some of the guests were very rude. Pushing and cutting in line. Made it a little unpleasant. IDK if people think they are going to run out of food or what!! Or maybe they are in a hurry to get to the parks. Either way it is annoying!

The characters made their rounds and we had a nice time!
