A Dog, a monkey, 3 kids, and 2 crazy parents... Will we survive Spring Break?

The secret is out! My sister told Lilo yesterday and Lilo told Tigger so the cat is out of the bag. Tigger found out today he must wear glasses, any idea on how to keep glasses on a 4 year old? And the bigger question, how long will it take for him to break them?

I am stressing even more and I only have 55 more days to make everything perfect. DH still wants to have a big surprise for the kids and I cant think of anything we could do that would add to the disney magic and be a secret. We talked about adding an extra day but dd wont be up for a flight after infusion and blood work, she will need the rest of the day to rest and prepare for our vacation. DH thinks he may add waterparks, but I have no clue how we would fit those in. I tried to get an upgrade to a deluxe hotel but they were all booked up.

Well what about a PPP pn the first night you arrive? Something totally special to start the trip off right and a huge surprise to the kids. They finally extended the dates, you just have to call (no online) for tickets.

After reading up on the pirate and princess party I am thinking we are going to do it the night we arrive. The older kids will love the short ride waits, ds should enjoy it all as well. Now I just have to convince dh to spend the extra $225. That shouldnt be to hard. Convincing the kids to dress up, probably impossible.

4:00 AM Arrive at OKC Airport and check in, Flight leaves at 5:50 AM

Afternoon If room is ready, get settled, swim. If not take the boat to DTD and shop

My kids are 12, 11, and almost 10 and they voted to not dress up for Pirates and Princesses. Fine with me. I am making them some tshirts to wear from designs I got from the talented ladies on the Creative DISign board.

I just had to use the money I had saved for spending cash/new camera to fix our car! Now I have 39 days to come up with about $700! I cant believe this is happening!!!!

Last night, the nightmares started. The first one was that I forgot to book on of my kids on the package, then I had one where I lost one of my kids, then one where all our money was stolen and our luggage was gone. Today I woke up nervous about Disney, imagine that!

oh my goodness! You need a good dose of "it's all gonna be okay, really after all, it is Disney." I was soooo stressed before our Sept. trip and ended up having to spend money on things here at home as well. aahhhh! It all did work out (not exactly as I planned of course!) but it was still good.

I hear you on the Teen thing. trust me they do not have to be female to qualify for this drama status. Our DS15 thinks being asked to take the trash out when it is his turn or do a dish when it is his week is a total interruption into his busy schedule of. . . .ipoding? chatting on line? and I think that is all he does these days! oh dear but like you, I know he is a good kid and I am thankful not to have some of the problems I hear about. He is completely underwhelmed that we are going to Disney again. Last time I had to lend him my blackberry to get on line in case his friends forgot him for the 8 days he was away!

anywho, nice plan. I hope your DS4 has a magical time. The Disney characters are really so well trained at handling themsleves it is usually very good interaction wise even with the shy ones. Does he have a favorite besides Curious George?

We purchased a stuffed animal for each of our little ones last time and hid them in our luggage. When we checked in, I went to the room first and sat them on the beds. I had written a note from the character to each child. My DS4 (5 now) still beleives that character came and brought it to him and told him so at a character meet and greet! so sweet. He also has an attachment to a stuffed bear (actually 5th bear but he doesn't know I swap them out and replace them, he thinks they get magic baths!) which he carries everywhere and the new Disney stuffed (Haiwain Mickey) is now running a close second!

oh and sshhh, I don't usually advertise but we homeschool too. We are very laid back tho and love the flexability it gives us.

Stress is my middle name, lol. Last night my hubby told me if I didnt stop stressing we wouldnt take vacations anymore and I actually started stressing that I couldnt stop stressing and that my husband might be serious.

Teenagers are great, huh? Tink has planned to bring both her cell phones, her ds, and asked if there were any internet cafes around. Like her myspace will shut down if she cant log on for a week!!! I told her you all were going to be at POR the same time we are and she asked if your son was cool cause we arent (according to her) and she really wants someone cool to hang out with.

As for Tigger, he loves most of the disney characters, his favorites are probably Mickey and friends, Tigger and pooh, and Playhouse disney characters. Today he got a Donald Duck at the Disney Store and only time will tell if it replaces george. He has a mickey mouse clubhouse doll that grandma bought for christmas and he adores it (it sings that annoying hot dog song and drives his sisters crazy)

Today I bought Lilo a Belle dress for the Pirate & Princess Party. She had an Elizabeth Swann pirate costume but I wasnt impressed with the quality when it arrived.

We also took the kids to the airport so Tigger could get accustomed to security and such. It went ok, was loud and busy but he handled it pretty well. Hopefully, when the big day comes, he will do fine.

Do the powers that be have something against me taking my son to Disney World?!?! DH worked 14 hours of OT to replace the money we spent on the car and I thought we were in the clear! NOT!!!

Yesterday, our precious baby Luna had to go to the vet. After 24 hours at the vet, multiple tests, etc. they discovered she has a bladder infection and all of this cost a little under $300 plus another $100 in 3 weeks for a recheck (just before we leave for the world)

This is all so frustrating. We have worked so hard to pay for this vacation with cash, without dipping into our savings. I am starting to feel like I am making all this effort for absolutely nothing!

We are 25 days away and I cant decide if I am more excited or scared

Today, I am going out to buy all my 3 oz toiletries for our trip. I will probably pick up a few more kids items as well for the kids carry ons. Strangely enough, this actually is exciting for me. It makes me feel like we are almost there.

Also, I am in the process of changing my schedule again! I know thats insane but I just cant stop planning! After Lilo went on for hours last night about how she hoped we would do the lilo and stitch breakfast again this year, dh said wh dont we change it and do the breakfast. He truly didnt care if we were at the parks later or if we had to get up earlier or take a cab, all things I was a bit concerned with. So no more Mama Melrose, Hello Stitch!

I will post an updated schedule once I figure it all out.

sounds like an exhausting pace but a ton of fun. Also sounds very organized. I can never wrap myself around a schedule like that. wish I could. I think my DH and I are to different in what we want to do. PPP sounds so awesome. I was hoping to eek the money out of our budget but it's a no go for now. And you have a couple sleep in times too.

I can't wait to hear how it all goes. Of course since you posted a family pic maybe I will see you in the food court or at the pool!

I think the schedule gets a out of five! I only take one b/c I have no patience for conservation station

Are you gonna make the lightsabers in DTD? sounds like you have a star wars fan.

My crew can't wait for R&Rc this trip as it was down for refurb last time.
My DD12 loved HSM2 last time as well. I am hoping to catch part of the new block party as well.

how's your little man doing? getting excited? does he look over your shoulder at all the icons when you Dis? that's what my little ones do!

I think the schdeule will probably be to much for some and we will probably end up missing a few of the things we want to do but thats okay. I am nervous about DD's going to the sorcerers hat for HSM alone but they really want to see it and will have cell phones. Tink has promised to talk to me the whole way there

As for Tigger, he is so excited. He cant wait to leave. The other day he asked if it was time to go and I explained that I made him a chart and when all the days were marked off, it would be time to see Mickey. Wanna guess what he did, he said, lets mark them all off and go! DH and I laughed so hard at that one.

Today, my plan is to make a packing list and a list of things to do before we leave. I am one of these weird ppl who have lists and charts for everything. MY dh calls it OCD So have you all started packing yet?

I just realized, I didnt respond to your question about DTD. We are thinking about doing the lightsabers there. DH wants to make sure they are good quality first. He doesnt want ds to make something that will come apart to easily. As for being Star Wars Fans. When DH and I first started ttc he designed a star wars themed nursery, poor lilo didnt have a chance.. The moment she was here he was showing her the movies and buying her the toys. Tink despises Star Wars, probably dh actually has a room dedicated to it Currently my dh is making plans to develop an xwing replica out in our backyard for Tigger and Lilo to play in. The only thing dh wants is a poster at Tatooine Traders of Tigger while on this trip and a pic of tigger on the speeder bike. He has one of the girls in our family room and has to have one of tigger too.

I showed the kids pics of POR last night and Tink got all sad. She said she wanted to go back to Pop. Then she found out there are no frozen coke machines at POR and it sort of went downhill from there. She thinks we are staying in a dinky 1 room cabin with no disney magic and no frozen cokes. I am not sure why the frozen coke thing is such a big deal but apparently it means alot to her. I really want her to love this trip. So now I am stressing that she will hate the resort. I tried to explain that the resort is just a place to sleep and her argument was that if that was the case why didnt we stay off site so she could bring Indy (her cat) with her. I should have been prepared for this, Tink doesnt like change at all. She is somewhat like a mini version of Monk. Hopefully she will find something she likes about the resort, maybe the pool or the jogging trail.
