A DISmeet here..a DISmeet there..Our August Southern Tour- Final Posts - #544!

Oh yay, you got started!! :dance3::dance3:

I went to the Cabbage Patch Museum when I was about 4 (in '96, we were in Atlanta for the Olympics!) and I have fond memories of it, so I'm a bit sad to hear they've moved locations and it's become commercialized, however I am NOT surprised in the least.

I absolutely love Ansley's braid, it is too cute! :goodvibes:goodvibes The picture of all the kids together is great, looks like they had a lot of fun together! How tall is Megan? She looks pretty tall in the pictures but it's hard to tell when you don't know how tall other people are. :confused3

Can't wait to see the rest of the TR, loving it so far! :thumbsup2

I need that baby with the pacifier! I didn't realize you took the red eye here. Probably quite an experience. I haven't been to babyland since they moved it but happy to see the tree still. I have seen pictures of the huge mansion, nothing like the old place at all!

Looks like a lot of great friends go to enjoy the night!

Mosied on over from Judys PTR....:cool1: how awesome you all got to meet up and what a great trip to take with your daughter.

yup it was quite disappointing to me :sad1: Ansley's hair is always cute, her mama is quite talented with braiding! Megan is about 5'3" or so!

welcome Jessica...the dolls are cute aren't they :goodvibes
the red-eye was much cheaper, I saved about $350 by booking it!
they still do the "birthing" bit and people got to name it....it was just not the same as before!
we had so much fun that night, we laughed so much!

welcome, thanks for swinging by :goodvibes it was a fun trip and getting to meet so many DISer's!

Hmpf! I was the first to post after you started your TR and my post apparently disappeared into thin air!

I did want to know if the Cabbage Settee was available in the gift shop? I quite like it. And the photos of the new hospital look pretty nice, though I can see some of the warmth is gone.

Shawna's family is quite nice looking and in the group photo you have with all the kids Alexa swears she knows one of the boys as she's "seen him on TV on the Hannah Montana show."

BTW, I want you to know I have been thinking of you as Isaac passed over Haiti. I hope anyone you down there working on the orphanage stayed safe and that there was no damage to the construction. I got quite a pain in my heart knowing several have died from the storm and really thought of you.

Great update! It's hard to see the pics on my phone.

I've skyways enter to go to BLG, that would be so fun!

I also thought of you and the orphanage as Isaac passed over Haiti. I hope that everything will be ok, many hugs. Currently, Isaac is over my ILs house in nola, but they are here at the lake with us, so we know they are safe. Lots of phone calls to neighbors to get updates, and the weather channel is always on.

Looking forward to your next update.... Thanks for this pics you emailed me too. :-)

bummer about your post getting lost :confused3
it is a cute settee, didn't see a for sale sign on it though :rotfl:
there was a handsome group of boys weren't there! I'm not allowed to talk about the "cute" boys though in front of Megan...I get "MOM" and this look :rolleyes2:rotfl::rotfl: don't think any of them were on the HM show!

thank you for thinking of Haiti...know they opened the orphanage area up for those in need....thankfully it is built to withstand earthquakes and hurricanes!!! no one associated with them was hurt thankfully...did hear a few people died in Port Au Prince

thanks for the hugs for Haiti too! hope your IL's neighbor's and homes will be okay, lucky they are visiting you all!
okay, I'm stumped what is BLGH :confused3 guess my morning coffee hasn't kick started my brain cells yet :rotfl2:
you are welcome for the photos! enjoy the rest of the week at the lake!

Glad to hear you are settled back in at home. So you still don't know when school starts????

Great pictures from your TR. Looks like you girls had a great time at Shawna's. Love the picture of all the kids! We have never been to the Cabbage Patch "hospital" but do love that big cabbage chair!

Thanks for sharing your pictures from your trip with me.

I didn't even know they had a Cabbage Patch Museum. I guess they have a museum for everything.:lmao:

I don't know why, but I thought Megan was taller than me (5'5"), but I'm sure she'll pass me up. Oooh, I wish I had her mother's talent, I always want to do fun braids with my hair but can only do simplistic things.

I am glad to hear the orphanage did well in the hurricane, it's a testament to how well it was built! :thumbsup2

Great start, Lisa. Love the photo of all the DIS kids (and the moms too). That's too bad that they took away the sweetness of the Cabbage Patch Museum. You know...someone gave us one of those Cabbage Patch dolls before Andy was born. I have no idea what happened to it???? :confused3

the orphanage is being built to American standards....so it will be safe and with stand so much more than the other bldg's in Haiti!

I'm sorry, wish you could get a ticker too! get that house sold! need to get some ideas from Megan, but we will be in need of some new customs if you'd like some business :)
but 6 months also means I will be a mama to a TEENAGER :faint::scared1::bitelip:

speaking of said almost teenager....Megan has been having some issues with hearing noises and finally got her in the doctor today....she had a slight ear infection back in July and guess is never got cleared up, left ear is a mess and right ear has a slight infection and we also found out she shows signs of Allergies...so on a stronger AB and OTC allergy pills for a month... doc said with all the built up fluid it was no wonder she was hearing funny noises. hope the OTC pills will help with the seasonal allergies so we don't have to progress to shots.
