Oh my GOSH. I've never seen those two appear together before. That's incredible. As far as I know, Hayden doesn't usually go to these things. I'm more determined than ever now to get in that auditorium.

I unfortunately can't sleep over because my friend who is attending with me is flying in (I live in Orlando) doesn't arrive until 11:30. So unless we race, we're not gonna get there before midnight. I'm also just not willing to spend two nights in a row there since we're sleeping over the the Last Jedi panel. But believe me when I say we're gonna be the first ones at the door at five on Thursday morning.

I really don't want to have to sleep over but with the guest announcements made for the 40th anniversary panel today I do have concerns that even arriving at 5 am won't be enough to guarantee entry into the main panel. It would be a lot easier if the venue wasn't closed between midnight and 5 am. Coming over from the UK on the Wednesday I can easily keep myself on UK time which would mean getting up around 2 or 3 am wouldn't be a problem for me at all. However, I'm not sure I could camp out on a hard floor all night especially as I'm a really light sleeper and don't think I'd be able to sleep inside the venue at all! As such I'm still thinking I'm going to have to take my chances at being able to get in with a 5 am arrival!

Just out of curiosity, what do you think the chances are of getting into the 40th anniversary panel if you don't spend the night but show up at 5:00 in the morning?

My question is how are they going to prevent people from lining up outside the venue from midnight to 5

Being this my first celebration I have no clue but I can tell you that people that used to come to SWWW (many are going to celebration) had no problems sleeping over, outside, on cement...I'm almost 100% that I am staying over for the Thursday panel and then showing up at 5am for thee Jedi panel.
I'm sorry I'm not more help

I don't think anyone can really answer that question with any degree of confidence. The demand was huge to get into the most popular main panels at London last year yet anyone arriving by 5 am would comfortably have gotten in and that's even with the smaller sized main stage they had there. However, I suspect that the demand for the 40th anniversary panel and TLJ panels will be even higher than the demand for any of the panels last year which makes it harder to predict what time people will need to arrive to get in. If I'm put on the spot I'd like to think that at least some people arriving at 5 am will still get in but how many of those arriving at 5 am get in I couldn't possibly say. With the venue closed between midnight and 5 am I strongly suspect a line will start to form outside before 5 am with people waiting to be let in when the doors to the venue re-open. It could be people arrive at 4 am or earlier to start a line outside and those people secure wristbands but then people arriving just before 5 am don't get a wristband for the main stage. I do think that people who arrive at 5 am are at the very least likely to secure a wristband for one of the screening rooms even if they do miss out on the main stage itself.

I've just gone back to check my Facebook timeline and messages from the time of Celebration last year to try to get a more accurate picture of how quickly the lines formed last year. I arrived a little before 11 pm the night before opening day to pick up my badge to save time the following morning (I'd traveled to London after work and that's the earliest I could get there). Arriving at that time there was hardly any wait at will call and I quickly picked up my badge. Whilst picking up my badge I took a photo of the queue at that time and was also exchanging messages with someone I knew who was camping out overnight for the Rogue One panel. At 11 pm there were around 300 or so camping out in line, most of whom were in the Rogue One line and a smaller amount in line for Mark Hamill's panel. I joined the Rogue One line just after 5:30 am at which time I estimated there were about 1000 in line in front of me. I do have photos showing the difference in the amount of people in line at 11 pm compared to 5:30 am but can't figure out how to post them here. I do remember that people were pouring in behind me after I got in line and the line very quickly doubled in number.

The one thing I would say is that we're all likely to have a much better idea of what time you'll need to get in line for The Last Jedi panel on the Friday based on what happens for the 40th panel on the Thursday.

How hard is it to grab a place at 6 am if you get there early enough and then leave (and then come back at say 11)?

If you get a Wristband for an 11 AM panel, you need to stay in the line throughout. At 10 AM, you will be loaded into your room (overflow or Main room). I expect to get a main room seat you need to spend the night. This is Celebration's rules.

They'll either say that any line isn't official and won't recognize it when they open the doors or the venue security will tell everyone to dispurse.

I’m definitely not going to put my family through the sleepover thing (I’d love to, my folks not so much)...but I’d be fine getting into one of the overflow rooms just to see the whole thing. Would that still be a 5am arrival time for chance for that?

I would say there is a very strong chance of that if you show up at 5 AM. Wouldn't guarantee it, but over 90% chance of it happening.

Our SWC Autograph Line Up... Riz, Brian H, Alan T, Freddie, SMG, Taylor, Vanessa, Steve B and Tiya... SHEW! Thank goodness for skip to the front of the line benefit on our VIPS, not as bad as Anaheim's lineup for us but still!

You have a chance of the streaming rooms but no way the main floor... I know people already planning sleepovers...

That isn't how it worked in London. Once you had your wristbands you could go straight away into the chutes for entry into the main area ready for when it opened at 10 am but in my experience most people didn't. After collecting wristbands most people left the queue hall to go get something to eat, stretch their legs etc before getting a place in line in the relevant chutes. Some people went to get something to eat inside the venue but plenty left the venue for a while as well. I had wristbands for the Mark Hamill and Rogue One panels before 7 am on the Friday and had been back to my hotel and had had breakfast there before 8 am. When I was outside the venue I saw hundreds of people walking round with wristbands for the main panels. I re-entered the venue around 8:30 am and got in line in the chutes at that point. I've read this year's navigation guide and I can't see anywhere that says you have to immediately go into the queue hall chutes after collecting your wristbands even for the 11 am panels. Once you have your wristband you're guaranteed to get in the panel it's just a question of how bothered you are about getting a seat near the front which will make a difference as to how important it is to go straight into a queue hall chute after getting a wristband.
