For some reason that I can't identify, a DISer popped into my head today as being MIA. She used to post all the time. Anyone know Conservative Hippie or where she's been? Looks like it's been a couple of months.

I don't remember. It does look like she has been logged in since then, but I didn't notice that until after I posted. Maybe she's given the DIS up for Lent - at least as far as posting.
That's funny because I have been thinking about C.Ann as well. I hope she is ok. And I had noticed FireDancer had been missing too. And now that you mention it, I haven't seen Golfgal.

And MosMom. I still think of her when I hear about cake-makers. Isn't she a cake-maker? I've always liked her posts. Looks like she still checks things out at least. I know that some people just finally get enough of the CB.
I'm sure that I've now started a thread that's going to get closed . But I wasn't trying to do that when I asked about Conservative Hippie. I don't figure she is gone for being in "trouble" like some of the other ones mentioned.
I wish you could tag people in your posts on here like you can on Facebook.
That could very well be. I know I've been having problems with that for months. Sometimes IE gets hung up on trying to load due to the board's slowness. I just hit the stop button and try and again later.
Another reason is that maybe the posters are just taking a break from the Boards. I know for me, I was away for about a year or so due to a new job (of which I was laid off from back in '09). I really didn't have time to DIS as much at that point in time. Now that I'm a SAHM, I'll check back a few times a day and see if there are any topics that I want to post on. Sometimes there are none and I won't post for a few days.
I agree. I suppose one thing that could have brought "missing DISers" to my mind is the recent death of PandyPaws.
Not that I think anyone mentioned on this thread has died! But when sad things like that happen, it makes me think of posters more as "real people" than just some stranger on a message board. It just makes me appreciate people more.
