Woohoo!! Good updates! TWO! Lucky us! :thumbsup2

So cute on DD not taking the popcorn. :cutie: you taught her right.

I have no idea what was going on with "mr clean" There's no excuse for acting like that in any language. His poor daughter must have been mortified.

YOu took a lot of pics! that's great! :thumbsup2 your kids are sooo cute.

Wow...bummer about Garden Grill not rotating...cuz i gotta say...the rotating is one of the redeeming qualities about that place! The food is...as Steph would say.."meh" at best!:lmao:

character pictures are GREAT!!! Once again I'm just in love with your kids!:lovestruc They look happy and loved and they love each other. You just can't ask for more than that!!

How FUNNY that Chip was so aware of the workmanship...I wonder if Chip has chipmunks of his own at home that perhaps Clarice sews for...hmmm...(unless Clarice is married to Dale...and then that might be a WHOLE other story!:lmao: )

Oh the cliffhanger of Expedition Everest!!!:cool1:

can't wait!!!

Pour the whole mixture into a 4-quart ice cream maker.
Add milk to finish, filling to the fill line.
At this point simply follow the instructions on your ice cream maker.
When the ice cream is ready you can serve it as is or you can stick it in the freezer for a while and let it set up a bit.

DOLE WHIP (VERSION 2)

Prep: 10 min.
Freeze: 3 hrs.
Makes: 8 servings

YAY! I come home to 2 TR updates from you! Plus, LOTS of cute pictures of Luke :lovestruc for Tessa. She's not home at the moment, but I will be sure to show her tonight.

Chip and Dale are my favorite characters. They're always so animated. :rotfl: Oh, I cracky myself up.

Look at you, giving us Dole Whip recipes! I am definitely going to have to try this!

I have the inside scoop on Clarice. Apparently, that chipmunk gets around because both Chip AND Dale claimed to be her boyfriend. MmmmHmmmm.....::yes::

Great updates! :yay:

Donald looks Cute!:goodvibes
Mr. clean sounds scary!
I love the Kringle bakery!!!!:lovestruc

Sorry you didn't have a great experience at Garden Grill.
We have never been there, but it is on our sometime in the future list.
My DD loves Chip & Dale. We have seen them other places though.

The lights on the ground are so cool, I was fascinated by them. :upsidedow

Wow, that Mr. Clean sounded awful. I'm glad you stuck up for yourself!

Chip appreciates your work! That made me laugh so hard, it sounds like something I would say!

I like the fried catfish at Garden Grill (I don't know if they even still have that) but DH found the food very "meh" so we haven't been in a couple of years. That really stinks about it not rotating!

Can't wait to hear about EE!

great update and pics.

that guy sounded rude, glad u told him to wait.

glad I canceled GG for September, does not sound like fun.

FABULOUS, Jhammie!!!!

Random thoughts:

UGH on Mr. Clean! There's always someone like him to perturb the civilized folk.

Does Garden Grill still offer fried catfish? It's pretty good although I haven't tasted catfish in any form both before or after GG. The rotating part is kinda fun. When we went when Dallen (DS10) was just 4 months old, we really loved it. Sorry you had a mediocre time.

Lilly's Nemo custom is darling. Her siblings are like "accessories" :cutie:

I 've never tried School Bread! Or the horns. Now I need to go back!

yeah, this has happened to me TWICE. The chapter I'm trying to write at the moment is a casualty of such an occurrence. It's pathetic at best. NOT happy! I feel your pain sista!!!

Loved the updates! The Garden Grill is a family tradition for my family. We go there on every family trip. One year, it was closed for refurbishment until after our trip ended...or so the schedule said! We happened to see it open as we walked past and we were able to make an ADR for the next day, so the tradition still holds strong! Back in the day, they gave everybody a big straw hat to wear while you were eating, and you got to keep it. Too bad it wasn't even rotating for you. :(

You can largely avoid this from happening if you type the report in Word. You can repeatedly save your work as you type it. Then, when it's ready to post, you can just copy and paste into here. Add the photos and it's done! And if it disappears, you haven't really lost your work...you just need to copy and paste it again instead.

WOOOHOOOOO yet another update!!!

I'm sorry you didn't have a good Garden Grill experience! We were pleasantly suprised when we went there. I can't believe it wasn't even rotating! Bummer!

My kids love the lights in the sidewalk too! Ok, I really like them myself!!!

Yeah, I was bummed.

TWO updates! What a happy surprise for me this morning. I'm really enjoying your trip report. Your kids are adorable and I love that they match. The Nemo dress (& the others you've made) is quite amazing. Wish I was crafty but alas I have trouble sewing on a button!! Maybe I'll attempt an iron-on shirt...

Looking forward to hearing about AK and the rest of your trip!

Aw, thanks! And iron on shirts are great!

Woohoo!! Good updates! TWO! Lucky us!

So cute on DD not taking the popcorn. you taught her right.

I'm sure it is usually better. I do usually type my updates in word and cut and paste, but for some reason, last time I got lazy.

Great update.

Shame about Mr Clean :(

Thanks!

Just a little bump, done with LOVE. :lovestruc

Last weekend I went to L.A. for my nephew's wedding and managed to find myself where???? Yep, Disneyland. My mini TR within a TR is nearly done but I got distracted by this:

IMG_0723-1.jpg

IMG_0725-1.jpg

We brought our baby home today!   Her name is Sunny Isabella. We wanted to call her Bella, but our neighbors just named their dog that :furious: so we call her Izzy mostly, but Lily likes to call her Belle. She is snoozing in her crate right now so I'm trying to get stuff done!--Well, important stuff anyway, like updating my TR.

I am now interrupting this Disneyworld Trip Report for an unscheduled mini “TR within a TR” a la Wendy Lou

Who?:
Myself
DD10
Dlilsis
Dniece 20 months
Dbigsis
Dnephew 17
Cameos by:
Dnephew “the groom”
Dneice in law “the bride”
Dbrother & Dgang

What?:
A long weekend trip

Where?
Los Angeles, California and thereabouts

When?
Last weekend

Why?
Dnephew’s wedding

Yes, last Friday morning DD10 and I got up early and headed to the airport where we met up with the Dsistas and Dniece and Dnephew. We boarded a small SkyWest Delta connection flight for Burbank airport. California here we come! The flight was smooth and uneventful…until just as our wheels are about to touch the ground, everyone is braced for the bump, and the nose lifts and we’re off again

A few moments later the pilot announces “sorry about that, there was another plane on the runway so we’ll try again in a few minutes” :faint:

As we were exiting the plane, DD10 announced that her shoe was broken. Her black crocs maryjanes had busted a rivet on the side so the straps were loose and she couldn’t walk in them. Sadly, they were the only shoes we brought. I know, when will I learn. :guilty: There was a little shop at the airport right after we got off the plane so I had to buy her some $14 flip-flops :scared1: this is scary because they are nearly identical to some flip flops I just bought her at Joanns for $1.50 The Burbank airport was nice and small which made baggage collection and rental car pickup so easy. Dbigsis was the designated driver, I was the designated navigator which meant hours of time spent on MapQuest the night before. Our check-in at our hotel was not for a few hours so I made everyone take a little side trip for me and DD10. The drive to our side trip was quite scenic. We passed Warner Brother’s, Paramount, and Universal studios, the Hollywood Bowl, Melrose, Sunset, lots of fun stuff. :cool1: We ended up here:

Okay, I have a great picture of DD standing in front of the American Girl store, but for the life of me, I can not get it off the camera :confused3 so we'll substitute an indoor shot:

IMG_0514-1-1.jpg

while the rest of the group hung out here:

IMG_0539.jpg

DD and I shopped around a bit. She got a few doll outfits and shirts for herself and we got a doll outfit for DD2’s Bitty Baby Anna. Then we had lunch at the American Girl Café.

IMG_0529.jpg

IMG_0534-1.jpg

Dessert!
IMG_0538.jpg

crazy child would not let me buy her this jacket: :confused3
IMG_0528.jpg

We had fun, it was nice. I took DD10 to the Chicago store a year and a half ago for her 9th birthday so it was fun to see the L.A. store (I liked Chicago better). On our way back to the car we saw someone sitting outside a restaurant talking on his cell phone, I think it was this guy:

NicePhoto.jpg

Not sure why I recognized him, but a million years ago (seriously, I was an infant) I watched Guiding Light and he was Lujack.

We then headed to our hotel, checked in, DD10 would not stop whining until she got to go swimming, so I let her swim for about 10 minutes, then we got dressed and went here: (DD is standing there at the bottom of the photo)

IMG_0543-1.jpg

IMG_0544.jpg

IMG_0552.jpg

Yes, we saw Wicked. We met my brother and his kids there. Dlilsis stayed at the hotel w/the baby. We wanted to go see Wicked when we were in Chicago but never made it. I’m so glad we went this time! It was amazing! Loved it! I was worried about DD because with the time change it didn’t end until midnight our time, but she was awake and into it. She got the jokes and the plot and was mesmerized. Before the show we had time to walk up and down Hollywood Blvd. a bit, but did not get as far as Grauman’s Chinese theater which we really wanted to see. So close, yet so far away. We did see the Hollywood sign though, which we had never seen before and DD really wanted to see!

IMG_0546.jpg

We had a very long but fun day.

up next: Day 2: The Wedding

Great updates! The dog is so cute!

I was just at Disneyland in April. It had been awhile and I forgot how wonderful it is there. I didn't do anything outside of DLR though, so your pictures are really interesting.

Thanks!

Today was devoted entirely to the wedding. The whole day was really nice. It was long going from the ceremony to the luncheon to the reception. We didn’t have quite enough time in between events to go back to our hotel so we did a lot of hanging out. We were pretty tired. The wedding was lovely. The kids were so cute and are so in love. They couldn’t stop kissing though. :confused3 This nephew was born when I was a teenager. My mom babysat him a lot which means I got to spend a lot of time with him from when he was born until he was about 6 years old and moved to Alaska. He was my little buddy! He and his wife go to school about 45 minutes away from my house though so now I get to see him more. Oh, and the bridesmaids wore disboard green!!! (the bride’s favorite color) I knew I liked this girl! :lmao:

Dniece19 in her Disboard green bridesmaid dress :rotfl:

Dniece and DD:

I LOVED this tree:

IMG_0557.jpg

IMG_0581-1.jpg

Jayden danced (barefoot) with the groom and giggled the WHOLE TIME :lmao:

IMG_0609-1-1.jpg

This (blurry) picture proves the Bride wore flip-flops, (not just for the reception, but all day.) :thumbsup2

IMG_0613-1-1.jpg

The weather was perfect! We woke up and our drive to Disneyland was not more than 45 minutes. We were probably parking at rope drop. We decided that without commando Mike (DH) we would kind of take things leisurely on this visit. Of course we spent the whole ride there debating whether we would get 1-day park hoppers or just single park tickets. We ended up with the park hoppers.

IMG_0639-1.jpg

First we headed to Adventureland and noticed that Indiana Jones was down. This was not a top choice on any of our lists, so we weren’t too disappointed. However Jungle Cruise had pretty much no line, which is rare, so we hopped on that. We had a great boat driver/guide/whatever you call them. He actually managed to make me scream—out loud. :scared1:
He was making some comment or joke about the giant spiders we were passing under. I was sort of half paying attention, I think I was taking this picture:

IMG_0618-1.jpg

Then he made some sort of “eek a spider” comment (more witty/corny than that I’m sure) and slammed the lid on the little wooden box thing that was up there by him and I screamed and jumped. Me no likey spiders.

We then moved on to Pirates of the Caribbean, no wait in that line either. I just love this ride!

IMG_0619-1.jpg

I took a picture of the Dream Suite just for my Disboard friends. My sisters think I'm mental.

IMG_0620-1-1.jpg

I took some photos of the Blue Bayou as we floated by since we’d be eating dinner there later.

IMG_0622-1.jpg

We then went to the Haunted Mansion (again no line.)

IMG_0623-1.jpg

Here are DD10 and Dniece1 in the nonexistent line. I think this is the only photo I have of them together.

IMG_0624-1.jpg

After Haunted Mansion we went to Splash Mountain. The line was about 5 minutes long. We did a kid swap and I went with DD10, Dbigsis, and Dnephew17. Dnephew17 had to be a smart aleck and hold up a book as though he were reading for the photo. (He actually does carry a book or two or three with him EVERYWHERE he goes. Kind of an intellectual.) It was pretty funny. We got SOAKED, like Grizzly River Rapids soaked! How did this happen you ask? I asked that too. On the tiny drop a wave splashed over and got my entire left leg drenched. It wasn’t even a drop when another splash came over and got my entire right leg drenched. Then on the big drop my face got soaked. I had to recover by going over to my favorite bakery in the Pooh Bear gift shop and getting my favorite sugar cookie (not the flat frosted kind—soooo yummy) and a Tigger tail for Jayden.

She refused to take it out of her mouth for the picture
IMG_0630-1.jpg

Then we went over to the Pooh Bear line, which, unlike the one at Disneyworld, almost never has any line. Next up was Big Thunder Mtn. but the wait was kinda long so we grabbed fast passes. I needed to go buy DD some crocs, because she wasn’t going to make a whole day at Disney in airport flip flops, no matter how much they cost. She picked these:

IMG_0631-1-1.jpg

Dbigsis and Dnephew went over to Tom Sawyer’s, now pirate island. Dlilsis and Dniece went with me to get some pressed pennies at the arcade. I’m sorry I missed pirate island (not sure what it’s really called these days). Apparently they caught the singing pirate show and loved it. Dnephew is an actor and has an excellent memory and he repeated one of their bits for me about the “dinghy parade” and I’m sorry I missed it. Apparently they go on and on about(in a pirate accent of course) “don’t go on that dinghy parade, it is awful! And if you’ve already been, I’m sorry,…” Then they go on and on about the horrors of the dinghy parade until you finally realize they are talking about the It’s a Small World ride. :rotfl2: I think I will now and forever think of that ride as The Dinghy Parade!

We met back up with them and went on BTMRR. Dnephew is fond of Innovations. It was at the top of his list and he got it in his mind that he needed to do it next, so we headed towards Tomorrowland. On the way I got distracted by one of these:

IMG_0633-1.jpg

Aaaaaah! Now if only I had some school bread to go with it!

Then we had to go to the tiki hut, which I hadn’t been to since I was a wee child. I really missed Lily on this one. She would’ve loved it. I can say it was nicely air conditioned! After the show Dnephew beelined it to Innoventions. I had to stop and get DD a corn dog at the corn dog cart on Main Street. Dneice was sleeping in the stroller so we just strolled around and shopped a bit while we waited for them. Dlilsis and I collect the little Hasbro mini figures and I only needed Jabba the Hut and the Ewok to complete my Star Wars series (nerd alert! nerd alert!) :lmao: so we sat in the Star Tours dump shop and felt up all the packages through the foil :bitelip: ‘till we found what we thought was Jabba. Couldn’t figure out the Ewok though. His shape is not as distinctive as Jabba. Hey, we had some time to kill! Dlilsis taught me that trick, which a CM showed her last April. I bought 3 packs and no Ewok though. He is the only one I still need so if anyone out there…

Dbigsis (okay, now it’s DBS) and Dnephew actually got to test drive Segways at Innoventions. Who knew? (not me) After that we decided we’d better get park hoppin’ so we crossed the plaza to California Adventures. Dnephew temporarily lost a book so they said they’d catch up with us. We headed straight for DD’s favorite, California Screamin. I was only moderately excited to go on it. The last time it seemed kind of rough and headachy. This time it was smooth and fast and I loved it again. We checked out the new Toy Story ride.

IMG_0643.jpg

It opens June 17 but they were doing test rides for CMs and their families. I was so jealous! They had a giant talking Mr. Potato Head out front. Dniece1 LOVED him. He was fun. He even took his ear off and put it back on.

IMG_0642-1.jpg

Next up was ToT. It was awesome as always although our fastpass wait was like a half an hour so we were cutting it close on our Blue Bayou reservations. We got off and raced across CA, the entry plaza, and through DLP and made it in time. (Had to stop for a brief photo because Elastigirl came up to DD10 and grabbed her and hugged her)

I had eaten at the BB once before but all I remember is that my kids were naughty and kept getting up from the table. This time it was much nicer. All 6 of us loved our food, it was practically one of the only meals the baby ate the whole trip. Some of us had blackened salmon, some of us had roasted chicken. We were all pleasantly surprised by the food. We had mainly gone there for the ambiance. The service was also great.

After dinner we went back to Tomorrowland and Dlilsis (DLS), DD10 and I went on Space Mountain while DBS and Dnephew took Dneice on the Nemo submarines. The line was a little long, then the ride broke down and we had to wait about 10 minutes. While we were waiting DLS told me that when she went on SM at Disneyworld last November, she laughed throughout the entire ride and her SIL kept giving her weird looks :confused3 So we get on the ride, and DLS was in the row behind DD and myself. SHE LAUGHED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE ride! It was pretty funny since it is a big out of character for her. Well, they were telling us to exit to our right when suddenly our car moved forward and they said "Do you want to go again?" Well by this point I don't think we had a choice :lmao: but we were happy to go again. Now for some reason, this made the whole ride EVEN FUNNIER to DLS. She was laughing SO HARD the whole time I had to laugh at her and I could barely breathe as I was being flung through space :rotfl2: We got off and I said "now I know why your SIL gave you weird looks!" :rotfl: her response was to laugh. We pulled ouselves together, ran to the bathroom, and rejoined the rest of our group. Then we headed over to CA for the Electrical Parade which is and always will be a childhood favorite!!! Just the music evokes such memories of the magic when I was a little girl! I LOVE it, probably my favorite parade of ALL TIME.

After the parade we exited the park and saw the fireworks above DLP. We were tired and I still needed to buy the boys the one and only thing they asked for--Indiana Jones Legos. So I headed to the Lego store and the sistas went to World of Disney. Then we took the tram back to parking and drove back to the hotel. It was a wonderful Disney sort of day! I'm SOOOO glad we went even though I really missed my 3 little ones.

Next up: Day 4 The Beach

We brought our baby home today!   Her name is Sunny Isabella. We wanted to call her Bella, but our neighbors just named their dog that :furious: so we call her Izzy mostly, but Lily likes to call her Belle. She is snoozing in her crate right now so I'm trying to get stuff done!--Well, important stuff anyway, like updating my TR.

This picture of Lily with Bella made me cry. She is just a vision of little girl sweetness. :goodvibes

Your trip sounds like it was a blast and great time for you and your big girl!! She's such a beautiful girl!!! I'm glad you got to hang out with your sisters too! That's always good for the soul!

I was on the part with the Dole Whip and Jay walked by and said "Is that a Dole Whip?" He got a hug and a kiss for knowing that!!

You should! I'd drive out just to meet you! ::yes:: I did make Hailee's pants (and matching top) when she went to Disneyworld last fall. We were surprised they still fit her!

 Thanks TJ and Miss Cammie! I think you're my only 2 readers out there! :rotfl:
