A DIS stalker's first pre-trippie...It's D-Day (Disney Day)!!

I dont know about doing laundry while in Disney....but, let me tell you, I am going to have 5 mountains of laundry to do when we return :sad2: If I get DVC or rich one day:rolleyes: , I am going to stay in Disney for two weeks and have my laundry done before I return :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hahahaha! I have the same ones in my laundry room drawer! From my new washer and dryer! How funny!!!! Are they whirlpool w/d sets?
Yes! We have the Whirlpool front loaders. I love them! Next year we will buy the stand underneath as it is a bit of a pain to stoop down to switch from washer to dryer.

I have one nearsighted eye and one farsighted eye... the doctor says I'm "unique".. hmm... Bob may have a different word for that... :cool2:
Rob has astigmatism but is now wishing he bought special sunglasses also. He will probably go around Disney squinting behind his cheap sunglasses...:confused3

So, DM--are you getting a little excited??? Have you put anything into a suitcase??
Nope...still in a pile in the corner of my room!! I did put a few things in my lovely carryon bag. I just cannot pack until next week some time!!

I don't mind doing laundry at all. It is my favourite household chore. It is relaxing sorting the clothes and folding them. I even fold them into sorted piles. I think some of you already know how much I am into sorting things....

Regarding front loading washers--
does anyone have a mold problem/smelly towel issue?? I have tried calling Frigidaire (new Affinity washer/dryer set) and they said "You shouldn't be having a problem..."

Well, duh! It's driving me insane--I'm washing each load several times and the towels still smell!:headache:

No problem. My old old old Hotpoint used to always make my towels smell moldy, at least that's what Rob said.

I love my new Whirlpools. And you want to know something? I never used to use liquid fabric softener because I hadn't the patience in my old old old washing machine. Now I use it and my clothes are the softest they have ever been. I am totally in love with fabric softener. I'm a laundry geek!

I agree--my mom and sister think I'm nuts, but laundry is my favorite! I feel like it's one of the only things I do where you can actually see what you accomplished!!! :rotfl2: My hubby jokes and says I get turned on by seeing neat piles of clean towels and undies...:confused3

Today was my garage sale. We brought things up from our basement all week and I marked them all. Last night we got it pretty much all set in the garage and placed the empty tables outside. Rob works on Saturdays so I was alone with the kids. I needed the sale to be as easy as possible. My alarm went off at 7 am and in comes Alec to my room.

Side note: Alec had been complaining of an earache for 3 days now so I took him to the doctor and he has swimmer's ear. Thank goodness I didn't wait. Poor boy was in definite pain. He is on otic drops now and I give him enough ibuprofen during the day and evening so the pain isn't as bad.

Anywho, he woke up early and crawled into my bed. I put on some kid show for him and went to take a shower. I came back into the room with my robe on and he told me to go get dressed somewhere else. Okay, I did because I am the sweetest mommy.

I went downstairs and started getting all the stuff out onto the tables and in the driveway. It took me about ½ hour. Brooke slept in to 9:15 am. My parents live next door and offered to take her and feed her breakfast. How nice of them! So, the garage sale sign is up, I have about $40 in my special garage sale money bin, and I'm ready to start.

Now, I wait and wait. Finally someone comes up and buys $13.50. Good start! Then it went downhill from there...

Get ready for the grand total earned..................$37.50.

We packed up everything and will try again in August but will probably advertise next time. Oh well. Still enough to buy pizza and wings tonight and still have money left over for Lotto.

DLM - Does this post justify being an update in your book? :rolleyes1

I'm sorry you're garage sale didn't go better. That's why I take the lazy way and just donate everything to goodwill!:cool1:

Yeesh, that was close...glad you kept tabs on achy ears...especially when you have to fly! Hope Alec is feeling better soon!

Try rinsing them with a cup of plain vinegar. Do a double rinse and then toss them into the dryer. :thumbsup2 Always works for me.

Ooooh!!! I'm a totally laundry lover. I love folding clothes and organizing drawers. DH says our drawers look like a department store display! :rotfl:

Oh man! That sucks. Our neighborhood park has a flea market once a month, so I headed over with a car full of kids clothes, toys, junk etc. and joined the carnie folk (ok, flea market lifers are strange, just sayin' :rolleyes1 ) I was the only one selling stuff and came out with $180. Not bad for a first timer, eh? :confused3

::yes:: ;)

Yes- we brought a box to goodwill today! Much easier than a garage sale--- although you don't make money off of it, you can deduct it on your taxes... And it gets out of the house!

We don't have garage sales over here we do car boot sales in a big field most Sundays. Everyone piles all their stuff in the back of their cars and sells it. I hate them but we did one before we moved house 2 years ago and sold all the kids junk and got $400  I then sold another $400 through free adverts in the paper and we bought the girls a big trampoline with enclosure

Yes, it will be pretty slow this week as far as updates go, unless something different happens. Thursday and Friday I will take pictures of our last minute things and we'll be off on Friday evening!

There are a couple of big items that I would really like to sell, like 2 strollers and a 2 antique tables. I know that if I advertise that they will go. The rest of the stuff I can easily donate to the Rescue Mission. I do it all the time. I'm so glad my brother had a baby girl so now all of Brookie's baby clothes went to her. And Brooke had tons of clothes in excellent condition. She was the first girl in our family so everyone went overboard with the clothes buying.

TE - do you clean your washing machine once a month? That may help!

And the laundry lovers are multipying....:grouphug:

Hey! My grandma that lives in California was a carnie! Seriously, way back in the 50s and that's how she ended up in CA. She definitely was not one of those gross ones you see nowadays. I think she did the duck pond.

That doesn't sound so bad. Actually probably a good way to get rid of things and anything you don't sell is already packed in your car to donate somewhere.

That's what we did we just left it all in the car and went to the charity shop the next day, I was determined I was not moving anything we didn't need to our new house, of course 2 years later it's full of stuff we don't need again :rotfl2:

Hey DM, I don't get over this way much I figure you pretty much cover the same info on the Stalkers thread.:rotfl:
Anywho, just wanted to say hi.
Oh and TE - try putting a little bit of bleach in the water with the towels. I have to do that sometimes too.

Well that is where you are wrong! But you probably won't even see my response to this. I put more detail into things over here.

Same thing with my upcoming TR. I will only post a little on our combined TR but my own will have all the details, photos, etc.....

Oh, and by the way did you see, I got a visit from a Dis celebrity over on my trippie. My TR idol-ZZUB!
