A DIS stalker's first pre-trippie...It's D-Day (Disney Day)!!

Evan will just have to lie about his age.

So, with only 3 more days until we leave, have I accomplished anything else? Hmm...well, the suitcases that were on my back deck have made their way into the house but are still empty. The pile in my bedroom? It's still a pile minus 1 pair of sunglasses of Evan's because today was his "hat and shades" day at school.

I did manage to go to Kohl's last night and bought 2 more pairs of shorts and a couple of tops. I am doing laundry now.

So, instead of giving you updates on what I have not accomplished, let me tell you where I spent this morning. I went to Alec's kindergarten class musical assembly. They were so cute. I wish I could post some video of it but I don't want any parents suing me for putting their kids on the web without permission. Oh well!

Here is a picture of Alec with his teacher. Isn't she the shortest thing? :rotfl2: No, she's on her knees. I really loved this teacher. She is so sweet and I had requested her for Alec after Evan had her last year. We aren't supposed to make teacher recommendations but I felt such a bond with her, plus I had volunteered many times, so I just put that in the request letter.

Also, please notice how Alec pulls his socks all the way up to his knees. I have tried to tell him to let them gather near his ankles but he says he likes it this way. And what the heck is he grabbing in this shot? :rolleyes1

During the short "graduation" ceremony afterward, Brooke wanted me to take her picture. She is the biggest ham you have ever met. I had to take 3 pictures of her and she had to pose for each of them. This pose is the funniest I thought...

Yes, I will probably be doing something tonight, but I don't what. I'll let you know tomorrow...;)

Darn it, DM... I thought "Oh Great! Someone MY SIZE!" Then you had to go spoil it by saying Teacher was on her knees....

Dana's at school (last day was Friday, HER last day was the Friday BEFORE THAT.. this kid isn't "getting it"... :lmao: ) helping her teacher with the yearbook. I have to go pick her up in a little while, then she has her horseback riding lesson this evening. It is extremely HOT today in NJ!

Made reservations today for the Brown Derby Wednesday... we had a very disappointing dinner there 11 years ago, but everyone else RAVES over it, so we thought we'd give it another try. I must say - this mad frenzy to make reservations 180 days out really makes no sense to me. :confused3 We really didn't have trouble last year making them as we went along.. and today I had a nice variety of times for next week's dinner. oh well... I guess "Party of 3" is easier than larger parties to accomodate..

Oh, DM.. did I mention that WE ARE ALL PACKED?! :woohoo:

That is one of the reasons why I really must meet you. I must see how little you really are! I know what you can sing for me..."We welcome you to Munchin Land, tra la la la la la, la la la la..." :lmao:

Hot here too and now we have a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 pm...

Were you there the same day we were on our honeymoon 11 years ago? We had the worst service and didn't even enjoy our meals. We were seated and waited and waited and waited. Another group were seated next to us. I casually joked saying I bet wherever our waiter is he waits on them first. Well, they got waited on and we still waited. I got ticked off that I went up to find the hostess to tell her our situation. Finally, another 5 or 10 minutes later guess who comes over to wait on us? Yup, you guessed it, the one who waited on the party next to us! :sad2: He was the worst and we were on a dining plan so he already had his tip. Grrrrrrr. We vowed never to go back.

"We represent the Lollipop Kids, the Lollipop Kids, the Lollipop Kids.....":rolleyes1 (I'm 4'9" - so be ready for "petite"! :cutie: )

I'm a little nervous about "severe thunderstorm warnings" considering we have a 6:30 pm flight on Thursday... you know how "summer nights" can be..:sad1:

Bob & I both did not enjoy our food at the Brown Derby, but I did really like their "famous grapefruit cake"! lol I just won't order the Cobb Salad again. The night we were there, a large party was next to us, and one of the people with them was the girl who was the girlfriend on "The Wonder Years" Danika something or other... It was really crowded and the service stunk. Dana fell asleep on my lap (she was 3). All I wanted was the "infamous Cobb Salad" and it was horrible. I'm hoping it is better this time around. I figure we can cancel the reservation if we decide we don't want to go.

The other place I wanted to try was the one in the Contemporary - is that "California Grill"? But, I'm not sure which night would really work for us.. so I think we'll save that for "our next trip"! Our family joke is to always leave something for "our next trip", so we are sure to return to wherever we are visiting!

Yes, it's California Grill and it always has rave reviews. :thumbsup2 Plus a good view.

YAY! 3 MORE DAYS! :cool1:

....lucky.

i have to wait 3 WHOLE DAYS AFTER THAT.
its a shame to wait that long. :lmao:

Hey TE...I was wondering if you could shout out my Disney fraud any louder? :rotfl2:
I'll try harder next time--we enjoyed roasting marshmallows over the big bonfire!

Are you talking to me?? Cause I actually reach 5 feet with shoes and a good hair day!

At least you're allowed to video, we're not
Why not?? Privacy laws?

Ok--you gotta talk to me and S'late--with some good shoes and a lotta hairspray--we can all reach the glorious height of 5 feet!

Hey--we ate there for lunch last trip. The waiter spent 8 minutes discussing the wonderful Cobb salad--so much so that I ordered it! When everyone else's food arrived--I had no salad. So I flagged someone down, and they brought a salad...........halfway through the salad, our actual waiter returned and wanted to know why I was eating a chicken salad!
He offered to get me the Cobb ("but it will be a FEW minutes") but I declined as I was almost full.
I really thought my salad should have been discounted too, but it wasn't.

So did I miss much with the Cobb one??

I really like a Cobb salad - have ordered it at many different places... so when we went to the BROWN DERBY - HOME OF THE ORIGINAL COBB SALAD- what else could I order?! ;)

But, it was the WORST Cobb Salad I ever had! :confused3

Now, the "grapefruit cake" really WAS something to remember! And, I'm not even a "dessert person"!

PS: Petite people, unite! :goodvibes I've been known to wear a spikey heel in my day, but I stay clear of the "hair spray"! lol :hippie:

Some parents don't want their kids photographed or videoed and unless the whole school ticks the yes box no-one can take photos, now I can understand a few rare cases maybe adoption or abusive partners and you don't want your kids faces appearing in the newspaper but just the ones who say no for no reason really annoys me as they're destoying everyone elses memories :confused3 OK rant over :rotfl2:

Renee,

We have eaten at the California Grill.... it was wonderful... the portion sizes are small... but thats okay.... we had a table right next to the window overlooking the MK.... the night we were there a rain storm came in... you could see it coming across the lake over the GF.... it was really cool.... I think you might enjoy the CG...

I just made a myspace page and I asked you to be my friend. (Well, actually my sister helped me do it since I am computer challenged)
I just added you as my friend. I had to go to your space first to see who you were because there was no pic. I saw that you were from TN and I remember you were from there. Then I went into your other pics and saw your boys and bingo! I knew it was you then.

And, what, no Disney on your space?

Oh yea, baaaaaaby! Update coming up soon...

Hey, I just realized something that frightens me....
I think I'm gonna miss DM while she's gone!

We'll have to keep her thread alive while she is visiting the mother land! I feel a sense of amuckness overtaking me...

Amuck to your heart's delight. I'm going to start a whole new thread for my trip report!!! We'll have to start a contest to see who is the first to join my new thread. My bet is that it will be Jo as she seems to be EVERYWHERE!!! :rotfl2:
