Thanks for taking the time out of your vacation to post your reviews. They're terrific! :goodvibes I especially loved the artistic cheeseburger pic!

Hope you're having a blast! I LOVE your live review.....it's getting me very excited about our trip!

So sad I am not there too.:sad1:

BUT, so happy that you are sharing...:dance3: :grouphug:

Have a fantastic time!!!:thumbsup2

All week I couldn't wait until Friday to read your dining report. The whole day I have been having horrible back and stomach pain but I made sure to get up and read your report!

I hope you feel better!

awesome review!!!! you have me seriously considering Cape May now - we are staying at BC but we never considered it since, well, it's a clambake and we don't eat seafood. I loved your "traveling food" reviews too! Yay for a great start! Enjoy your bit of spa time! (Or, hope you enjoyed it, if you don't see this until the evening!)

Thanks - we love Cape May and are NOT seafood people. And thanks - the pedicure was divine!!!

Cape May looks like fun! I am loving your report! There's something extra special about a live report... knowing you're there and wondering where "in the world" you are now! ;)

This isn't food related but it's WDW related -- I'll be interested to hear what you think of your pedicure at the spa.

I am a Super-T fan too... and love even more that in FL they also sell alcohol. Talk about one-stop-shopping! Hope you enjoy your cabernet!

Thanks! The pedicure was awesome! It is 50 minutes long and the most relaxing thing in the world. They do such a great job - every single toenail is identical in shape (and now bright pink!). The best part? The CM who did my pedicure in January was there and she and the CM I had today not only recognized me as having been there before, but also noticed my hair is shorter now than it was then. THAT is service!!

I am loving your reviews - can't wait to read more!

Thanks!!!

Cape May looks great! I cannot wait to go back there in Oct....

So where ya going today?

Boma! (And the Mara a bit too!)

I was curious to what all seafood offerings were on the Cape May buffet? Looking forward to reading more. :goodvibes

clams, mussels, cold peel and eat shrimp, battered tilapia and hot peel and eat shrimp. The clams and mussels are usually cooked with some sort of flavoring and they have melted butter for whatever seafood you want to have it with.

WOW!!! Great review and pics!! I'm looking forward to seeing more!! Hope you're having a great time!!

So glad to join you on your vacation, WE sure are having fun, can't wait to see what's for dinner at BOMA!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Thanks to you both!

I love these live trip reports! Maybe I'll do one for our sept/oct trip.

Please DO!!

Excellent:thumbsup2

Thank you all!!

This is so much fun ~ I am so happy that you all are in the greatest place in the whole world:) Thanks for sharing all of this with us.

Today was a disappointing day in food volume. I made a rookie mistake: When I downloaded the photos last night, I left the camera plugged into the computer. I thought it was charging the camera. Nope. So all morning I didn't have a camera and neither did DH and DS. :(

DH and DS ate the following at DTD while I was at Saratoga Springs:

Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich (loved it!)
Itzakadoozie popsicle (melted immediately but miraculously not on DS's shirt

At the Spa, I had:

ice water and banana

After the boys picked me up, we ran to Walmart to get nail polish remover for my fingernails and chocolate fudge poptarts that SuperT was out of that my niece and nephew can't start their day without . We then had a quick snack at Sonic - cherry limeades, onion rings (yuck!) and a grilled cheese.

Then nothing more to eat until Boma. Where I DID have my camera!

The boys and I are off to the pool now for a while and then back here for borrowed dvds before bed. I'll post all my photos from Boma, The Mara, and the BC Marketplace as soon as I get back.

I am so looking forward to Boma, DH and I are going to try it in Oct

Loving the pix I want to try Cape May I would be hitting the clams, shrimpandthe prime rib!!

I'm in. I need a live TR to cheer me up. It's going to be a long time until our next trip.:sad1:

A quick photo of the Krispy Kreme doughnuts that called my name when we were forced to wander into Walmart in search of disgusting toaster pastries for my niece and nephew (HATE Walmart as much as I love SuperTarget, but when SuperT is out of the right kind of Poptarts and DH needs a cherry limeade from the WM Sonic, what can you do?):

I love every single gram of fat and sugar in these lovely cream filled chocolate covered beauties! Yay for tomorrow's breakfast!

Well it does say 0 grams of trans fat:laughing:

DH and I were talking tonight and the question was "if one restaurant could be your kitchen...meaning, any time you wanted bfast, lunch, dinner or snack, you could have anything you want as long as it was on this restaurant's menu...which restaurant would it be?"

DH said Cape May. For me? Nowhere but Boma!

We had to check in up in the lobby, which was weird, but it worked well. We were able to wander through the Zawadi Marketplace instead of the zoo downstairs and we were seated within 15 minutes of checking in. We sat way back overlooking the pool and The Mara by the windows and it was great.

Diet coke, coke and chocolate milk again. Huge chocolate milk again for DS:

DS's Plate One:

July192008442.jpg

Mac and cheese (heaven!), a chicken nugget and some fries. Missing? A slice of watermelon that was getting too close to the mac and cheese for his comfort.

DH's Plate One, nicknamed: "DH's Plate O' Meat"

July192008441.jpg

BBQ ribs, chicken, prime rib. I had some of the ribs later and they were really interesting. Not a strong traditional BBQ taste, but very spicy (as in many spices) and very spicy (as in hot). DH thought they were "eh", but I liked them and thought they were an interesting change. He liked the chicken and the prime rib was good.

My Plate One and Bowl One:

July192008445.jpg

Clockwise from top: pita triangles and flatbread, avocado and grapefruit salad, pasta salad, cilantro and lime salad, kalamata olive hummus, sundried tomato hummus.

The hummus, as always was awesome...I liked it better with the crunchy flatbread, but the pita triangles were good with it too. I like to mix the olive and tomato together.

The avocado and grapefruit salad is so good! Very refreshing and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I add a little salt and pepper and it's fantastic. There was another fruit in it (the things that look like tomato, but aren't) and I liked that a lot too.

Pasta salad: This was yellow and tasted very spicy (as in spices). This tastes like Boma smells. Does that make sense?

Cilantro and Lime salad: Very refreshing, sweet, crunchy with the wontons, and always a favorite of mine.

July192008444.jpg

Carrot Ginger Soup. My favorite WDW soup ever. Best description: Liquid warm pumpkin pie. SO good!

DS's plate Two:

July192008449.jpg

Yup. Seriously. A corn bread type bread and more watermelon.

DH's:

July192008450.jpg

Kids pasta and meatballs, Potatoes with Afritude, more prime rib

He says "it was okay...it wasn't bad." Coming from He Who Hates Boma, this is high praise. "They aren't homemade meatballs, they are mass manufactured, but they aren't bad."

My plate Two:

July192008451.jpg

Prime rib (not sure why he gave me so much??) with Boma mustard (behind prime rib), Mac and Cheese (YUM!), coconut rice (interesting...would taste good under a teriyaki stir fry, I believe), and BBQ rib.

DS's desserts:

July192008453.jpg

Yay! Exotic cookie and brownie!

Desserts for (DH and) me:

July192008454.jpg

Clockwise from top: Banana bread pudding covered with vanilla sauce. Cherry crumble, also covered in vanilla sauce, cocomisu, Zebra Dome, Chocolate Mousse, Amarula cake shaped like Everest.

Banana Bread Pudding: very good, a little dry, but good. I didn't finish it.
Cherry Crumble: VERY tart cherries. DH loved this! The vanilla sauce was good on it.
Cocomisu: traditional tiramisu with toasted coconut. Best dessert of the trip so far, hands down. No question. Excellent!
Zebra Dome: you may ask...why only one? I will answer in next post.
Chocolate Mousse: a little boozey, very chocolately, very good!
Amarula cake shaped like Everest: Okay. Moist cakeish thing. Nothing to write home about, but good.

And that was Boma. We have it booked again with the whole fam later this week and I look forward to going back!

Thank YOU - it is so much fun! I am really enjoying it.

Well it does say 0 grams of trans fat:laughing:

Oh...I LIKE the way you think!!! :rotfl:

July192008460.jpg

After dinner, we stopped at The Mara, because we have 30 snack credits burning a hole in our room keys. Also, I needed to have zebra domes for the room. I love them like DH loves Oreo Bon Bons and knowing I would get five for my very own self I was able to save rooom for other desserts at dinner.

Five little lumps of yum:

And a savory snack for later - more Boma sundried tomato hummus.

Now I just need to get some pretzels or crackers or a spoon for it...

Two snack credits, used!

Great pics! YUMMM Boma! Dbf and I are going there for our first night!

Also, just curious, how did the filter water bottle work out in the parks???

DH, after pooh poohing the divine desserts of Boma, brought back this with the dvds:

July19II002.jpg

Boooooring! We can have this at home.
