as you can see from my signature , we will be bouncing around just like tigger this trip. do you think I should invest in Mugs or let me ask this is it ok to just get one mug and have the 3 of us share?? thanks for any and all input.. Michelle

There would be nothing wrong with sharing one mug for the three of you!

The mugs are (I think) $8.99 - get 3.... they make a nice souvenir for when you get home!!!! Personal experience.....

We had to buy 2 - my hubby drinks coffee - I drink tea and neither of us are morning people  Can you see 2 miserable people (without their morning beverages) fighting over 1 mug  - Not a pretty sight!!!!!

I've seen pictures of the resort rooms where there are 4 mugs shrink-wrapped on the table. There are 3 of us, if we open the mugs, do we get charged for all 4? I'd only want 2, 3 max, for coffee and my DH drinks a lot of soda.

Unless they've changed it since 1999, you're only charged for those that you unwrap. My parents and sister and I had connecting rooms, and only my sister and I opted to use mugs. We even traded colors with those in Mom and Daddy's room...leaving the shrinkwrap intact. On check-out, we were only charged for the 2 mugs we purchased by removing the shrinkwrap.

Hope that helps and that if that's changed, someone corrects me!

So the mugs in the rooms are individually shrink-wrapped?

I think i will be getting 2 per resort ( well all star movies and AKL) then each kid will have one and i will just share with them. altho i can use that $10.00 on something else.. Thanks for the replys

Sorry ~ yes. They were individually shrink wrapped in our rooms. We just left the two we didn't want on the table still in their wrapping. It makes financial snese to do it that way so that if not all the mugs are purchased, they can be put out again without having to worry about their cleanliness.

I have never seen the mugs on the tables of any resort I have stayed at. When and where did they start that?

I will be leaving in less than two weeks and would like to know if this is a new thing to lookout for.

Sam ~

I was in CBR (which I know is closed for remodeling) when we had them...this was 1999. My parents had them the previous year at the same resort. That was my only time on property (and I'm still a month away from going back on property!!), so I don't know about the rest of the resorts. Perhaps it's a moderate thing (maybe value as well)? I know that the mugs were also available in the food court for purchase at the same cost...just more of a color selection. At any rate, they were on either the table or the dresser next to the TV center in the room. Perhaps this has stopped with *** the extra safety precautions lately. Anyone else been there recently and know for sure?

had them on the table as well .. hope this helps

That is interesting. Since 2000 we have stayed at the Contemporary, Port Orleans, Fort Wilderness Cabins, All Star Music x2, All Star Sports, and AKL. We have seen them and purchased them from the food court areas, but never in our room upon arrival.

Just wondering. Thanks for responding.

They are shrink wrapped in the rooms at Beach Club as well as of last October.

We stayed at POFQ in Sept 2000 and did not have them in the room but they were available in the food court - we stayed at CBR in Sept 2001 and they were in the room.

They were shrink wrapped in our CBR room in 1997; since then we've been at POR and POFQ with nothing in the room.

I believe that the in room mug charge was a little higher than if you were to buy them in the food court. I thought it was strange -- we purchased from the food court before going to our room. Am I remembering wrong?

They were in our room at the CBR both in 2000 and 2001. I don't know if pricing has changed but they were the same price at the room and at OPR. I've also heard that the mugs are in room at the BC.

We stayed at CBR in 1998 & 2001 and there were 4 mugs in the room. We unrapped three and they put three more in their place the next day. They were $1 cheaper to purchase in the room.
We are going to AKL Oct 14. Don't know if they are in the rooms there.
