A different kind of magic band question...resort delivery

I've been reading many of the magic band threads and following the frustration that people have had ordering them and then finding out that their selected magic band is sold out. It got me nervous enough that when my daughter saw a band that she really liked (Vanellope), I just grabbed it and checked out, hoping to avoid the agony that a lot of you have detailed on these boards.

I assumed they would ship them home, but they have shipped to the resort (AOA) - my email confirmations and my online account shows a "resort delivery". I called guest services to see if they could adjust the shipping address - I am 147 days out.

The first rep I spoke with said that "customized bands ALWAYS get sent to the home address" so despite all my confirmations indicating a resort delivery, I should expect the band within two weeks.

The second rep said that "customized bands ALWAYS get sent to the hotel," so I have no choice but to have the hotel hold them for the next 6 months.

I obviously missed the part where you can select a shipping address - so mad at myself lol.

Have any of you had experience with the hotel holding magic bands for this long? I just don't see this ending well.

I can't answer about magic bands, but I have mailed packages from home to resort. Disney recommends that packages arrive a few days before arrival or after arrival. When I ship, they ask that date of arrival as well as confirmation number be put in address area. If package arrives much out of their time line it is stored offsite.

I haven't ordered with that much lead time, but I have received the custom (upgrade) bands at the resort and shipped to my home, so they definitely do both.

I wouldn’t worry. We are Canadian, so we never have the option of home delivery (they only ship to US addresses). Our bands have always been waiting for us at the check-in desk, regardless of how early we customized them.
