Well I am just back from my first visit to a value resort. We LOVED POP. So much so that I just changed my November trip trom CR MK view to POP. The food court was awesome. The buses were always there and we never waited for more than 5 min tops. Our room looked right at the bowling pin pool. I cant believe I can get 2 rooms at POP with the same package as opposed to 1 room at CR and it is $2000 less money for 2 rooms. You dont have to hit me over the head. I just went ahead and booked the bounce back and changed to POP for the 2 rooms and money savings. That is alot of dole whips.

:cool1: Wow thanks for the great review. We always stay at the Boardwalk but after reading your post we will look into the pop:cool1:

Oooooooooo, glad you checked in, I was wondering how your trip would go!
Glad to hear you loved Pop. :cool1:

But wait..... 2 rooms at Pop is $2,000 less than one room at CR?
Holy cow! For how many nights?!?! I guess you are a Values convert now!

I think you had good "bus karma". But it isn't usually the case to get a bus that quickly. There are times I've waited about 30 minutes, and like you, 5 minutes. I guess you didn't mind being at the farthest bus stops at the parks, too.

I have stayed at Pop a lot on weekends (to save on DVC weekend points), so I am fond of the resort. I wonder if you took time to explore. The shadow boxes in the lobby and the trivia around the lagoon (on both sides of the signs!) are a lot of fun.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it so much :woohoo:
We are staying there the beginning of September and can't wait!

I am sooo glad you wrote this! I feel the same way!! The rooms are much smaller than a deluxe, but the rooms are clean, efficient, and make great use of the space they have! The beds are very comfortable, but just doubles, not queens. The only thing is I wish they had is a fridge. I could live without the coffeemaker, but a fridge (included in the room rate) in each room would make Pop Century just even more tops with me!! They could just tuck it right under the sink. Who uses that space anyway right??

I love the CR and a MK view is hard to beat, but the Pop Century is just fun and you can't beat the price with a stick! The food is very good for a food court! Petals Bar is very convenient :woohoo: and the pools are large and lots of fun. And I'm sorry but I think the Everything Pop Store is a mini-World of Disney. They do have EVERYTHING!!

We are staying 7 nights 8 days with the food plan and tickets with hopper and water park. My quote was exactly 2,000 less with 2 rooms versus one at CR. How crazy is that. If it was just me, DH and DS we might have considered putting out the money for the experience but my sister is coming too and having the two rooms is a huge sway factor not to mention the savings. So I dont know if I am a total convert but right now I am. LOL.

Glad to hear your comparison! I've only stayed onsite once - and it was at POP. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great value for the money. We went in January and also had great luck with the buses!

Check over on the Budget board for one of the 15+ fridge swaps going on at POP. I run one of them and we offer coffeepot too. Most of them are free since the initial swappers paid for the cost of fridge. Saves $12/day POP charges.

Glad you had a nice time. I really debated between Pop & POR. My dd wanted a pool slide, so we're trying POR this time.

How was it standing in the bus ques at Pop in the hot July sun? They don't appear to be covered at all. That was one little item that bothered me.

They were covered. They even had benches under the roof part and when it was raining we could stand under them until the bus came. I never noticed it until you wrote about it but there were covered benches.

glad to hear this..
DD and her friend will be staying there in september for 2 weeks....
her first time at the pop...
i put in a request on her reservation for a lake view room in the 60's...
do you think that was a mistake?

We're headed back to POP for the fifth time next month. We have a grand gathering with 8 family members of various ages and we all enjoy staying there. If it was just us going I probably would have used our DVC pts and tried for AKL but I didn't have enough for everyone to use and we wanted to stay together. We're going during free DDP and you just cannot beat the value -- less than $100/nt for four of us including our meals. :goodvibes

Glad to hear you liked Pop! We're ASSp fans, but we went to Pop to check it out last month. It's pretty cool! I like the food courts, but Pop's is better 'cause of the Icee's!!

We're out of points until Dec '09 (BIG grand gathering last December :)) so if we go in the next 2 years we'll be staying at a value.

I'm right there with ya.... Pop is our FAVORITE resort! :lovestruc We really loved the Poly (it is our second favorite) but Pop is so much more fun and has way better bus service.:thumbsup2 I keep booking at Pop because I am afraid we'd miss it too much if we stayed somewhere else!
