A day and a half alone.

So long time lurker here, but thought I would make a thread and see what you all thought.

Anyway.... My job is sending me to Orlando for a weeks long conference this May and I will have a day and a hlaf free to spend it how I choose. That said day is a Wednesday (half day) and a Thursday (full day). Since I haven't set foot inside a Disney park since May of 2012 I'm looking to savor every minute I am there. I'm planning a full day (Rope drop to Kiss Goodnight) in the MK and on my half day, I think an 12 pm - 9 pm day in EPCOT will be just enough for one person.

In my mind I know what park and attractions I want to do, and certain things I want to see, however I am open to suggestions. I'm not a big fan of the "thrill" type rides, and I know that is where most of the waits will be throughout the world. Knowing those items, I'm curious on how you would tackle a day and a half alone in the world .

ALSO.... I will be frequenting Disney Springs and maybe a couple resorts in the evenings to eat and fulfill my Disney fix.

I'm really wanting to try the new Skipper Canteen restaurant but totally okay with snacking around the MK/Epcot.

I recently spent time alone at MK and LOVED it! I did things my family won't ever stand/sit still for, like watching the castle show (which I really liked), poking around the stores and alleys on Main Street, sitting at Casey's while the guy played piano. Not necessarily a must-do, but if you go soon after rope drop before the line gets insane, the new interactive queue for Peter Pan is great.

I've done a couple of short solo weekends and find I approach those days really, really differently than I do when I have traveling companions. I am a frequent visitor, so I often play "tour guide." When I'm solo, I have to remind myself that there's no agenda, no compromise - just moment to moment what I want to do. If I want to ride small world three times... I do it. Last time, I'd planned to spend my last day at MK - I did about three hours and then ended up hopping to DHS on a whim where I did multiple rides on TSMM, ToT and RnRC due to SDFP.

My biggest advice is: don't second guess yourself. If you want to eat at SC... do it. There's no worrying if others like it, if you're leading them down the wrong "value" path, etc. I tend to be a big planner so that my traveling parties can see all they want to, get their money's worth, etc... so it was kinda fun to toss an extra TS in as a solo without feeling guilty.
