A Cyst Or Something Else? **UPDATE**

** I took everyone's advice and went to see a doc . . .turns out to be an infected hair folicle <sp?> but she was unable to lance it because it wasn't ready yet. She gave me some antibiotics for the infection and it's already starting to feel better . . .it hasn't popped yet or anything, but it's not so hard of a bump anymore, I guess it's breaking down the infection . . .hopefully I won't have to return to get it lanced, but she said if it was still there by next Wed to come back and she'll do it . . .**







I woke up this morning with some kind of a cyst on my upper right inner thigh, I know it wasn't there before . . .it's painful to the touch and it's pretty hard, when I press on it, it feels like it's probably about the size of a quarter . . .As the day progressed it got more painful so when I got home from work I kept putting warm cloths on it . . .it made it worse

I'm thinking it maybe is an ingrown hair that got infected? I don't know . . .I suppose I"ll have to call the doc tomorrow . . .

Anyone else ever have something like this?

Could be an ingrown hair. DH gets cysts all the time. Try putting a hot wash rag on it. If it doesn't get better, go see the DR.

Warm compresses are a good idea while you await a doctor's appointment. S/He may give you antibiotics.

Soaking in a hot tub might help too. Hope the doctor can see you soon.

I had one of these on my upper thigh. I tried to ignore it for a week or so. It got worse, looked wretched and really hurt. Dr. did prescribe antibiotics. Within 2 days it was almost gone! Don't put it off like I did !

My dd had something like that a couple years ago on her knee... we waited and by the time we took her to the Doc it had opened and when he cultured it- both STREP and STAPH grew in the culture! Don't wait, go to the DR. before it gets worse!!

Did you try a compress with Epsom Salt? It may help. Hope you feel better soon.
