A couple Ridemax questions...

For those that have experience with Ridemax, I was wondering what does Ridemax consider an attraction in their list? I believe parades and shows are out, but what about things like PFF, Pixie Hollow, Mickies House, the other Meet and Greets, the Animation Building, Pirates Lair? If these are in there, how does Ridemax know how long you would spend at an attraction like this?

Also, is Ridemax able to work with the Rider Switch/Baby switch option? How would you handle this within the context of using these rides in your plan while sometimes utililizing the Rider switch?

I have used Ridemax a lot. It doesn't have any of the parades or shows, you are correct. It does list Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toontown.

I am not a current subscriber right now, so I can't check Pixie Hollow or PFF. I want to say it does list those, but I could be completely out to lunch on that. Hopefully someone who has a current subscription can check for you.

It does list the Animation Building and Pirate's Lair in the plans. I believe it takes an average for time spent in those places. You could stay for longer or shorter amounts and adjust as needed. Ridemax highlights and bolds time-sensitive attractions, so you know what you need to show up on time for and what isn't as important.

Ridemax doesn't have an option for rider switch. What you can do is either set it to "slow" touring style, which will give you extra time to go through the line again, or save up your switch passes and use them during the "free time" which is available in all Ridemax plans. It also depends on how many people are in your party. You could actually come out ahead if you have a smallish party. Instead of getting FPs for everyone, if you use rider switch/fp you could get double the amount of FPs and actually jump forward on the Ridemax plan.

For example, if you have five people total and one cannot ride. You could go to ST and grab two FPs and then a rider switch pass (which allows for two people). Then you could also grab SM FPs with the other two tickets and a rider switch pass (which allows for two). So you could really get ahead on your touring.

Thanks for the tips. I thought this might work well to use them during the break periods. Can you hold onto rider swap passes for long periods like you can with Fastpasses? Or does one rider have to go thru the line right away? We will have 4 in our party and only the youngest won't be able to ride Indy.

You can hold onto them for use anytime that same day. With only four in your party, you should be able to utilize FPs and rider switch passes very easily. Have fun!

ETA: don't forget that you can single rider many attractions as well and you can program some of the single rider attractions into Ridemax.

Alright... I think I've got FP in's and out's down but maybe not Rider Switch. If the four of us go to Indy, and only one (DD4) can't ride, they will give us 2 passes? And each pass is good for 2 people? So I could ride with my oldest daughter and then my wife could ride with her as well? Just want to make sure I was reading that right. And with the rider switch, do you go thru the stand by line or the FP line? Or do we need a FP AND a rider switch to go thru the FP line?

Ok, so there are four of you and four tickets, right? And only one, the youngest, is not riding? If so, then the first thing is that the rider switch pass is good for two people. The first group to go in goes without the young child, so you and your oldest daughter. You can use standby or FP. But you only need 2 FPs. Tell the CM out front you are doing rider switch. You will receive a rider switch pass good for two people. You and your oldest ride and now you have a rider switch pass good for two people. Now your wife and your oldest can ride. Make sense?

So for rides that have rider switch, only get two FPs and use the rider switch. So you can double up on the number of FPs to get. When you are in Tomorrowland, for example, get two FPs for Star Tours and two for Space Mountain and rider switch both! Essentially, the rider switch is a two person Fastpass. The procedure for using the rider switch varies by the ride, many of them you use the ride exit. The rider switch pass has the instructions printed on it, so it is very helpful. If you have questions, just ask the CM for help. Have fun!

The first group must use a FP to use the FP line. Otherwise, you would be in the standby line. The group using the rider switch pass follows the directions on the pass itself. Does that help?

ETA: basically, the rider switch pass is pretending like you all waited in line together. So if you had a FP, you would use the FP line. If you didn't, you would use the standby line. To get maximum usage, use a FP for the first group to enter and then the second group uses the rider switch pass. You do need a FP for the first group to enter, though.

No problem, it is hard to describe sometimes.

The first group of two needs a FP. The second group of 2 just needs the rider switch pass. The second group will get on very quickly, either using the FP line or by going through the exit. The rider switch pass will tell you how to use it.
