A couple of questions

I'm hoping that our little family of three will be heading to WDW next year to celebrate my big zero birthday I can't be there for my actual birthday cause Easter is so late, don't want the busy and the cost. It's been a few years since i've been with the Mickey planning so have a couple of random questions:

When's good to start looking for flights for early May?

Does anyone have recent experience of booking insurance for pre-existing medical complaints (ideally a mainstream supplier) M&S were the company we used regular when we had our last hols.

11 months before is apparently the best time to look for flights, so I make that June? I'm pretty sure people have got some great last-minute deals in May. Sorry, that wasn't much help.

We got our insurance with our building society account with Nationwide. It's worth checking your insurance that you probably have with your banking. Nationwide was cheap and offered excellent cover.

We both have pre-existing med conditions and in the end found a good deal with Virgin Travel Insurance.

I booked insurance for my 76year old mother's visit to New York in November. I was quite surprised that her declared illnesses only increased the premium by 50p. It was only a 5 day single trip. We used a comparison site along with Quidco and then cross referenced them with recommendations from moneysavers and Which? Mum's age made the insurance more expensive but I was pleasantly surprised that her declared conditions didn't make too much of a difference. Mum was very keen that we declared absolutley everything as a friends husband was hospitalised in the States for a condition he hadn't declared - nightmare.

We have used post office - last couple of years through top dog - they do an annual family policy plus top ups for medical conds if you need (think it was only £10 more for my rare respiratory condition)

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll certainly look into them once the flight window opens up. I would never risk a trip without the enough cover way too risky.
