A Couple of Questions...

We have always stayed at a moderate resort for our yearly Disney trips and this year we are thinking of renting points from a DVC member now that the dining plan is available. I have been researching these boards and I think I understand the basics but I had a couple of questions.

1. What is the general payment policy? DO we pay in full at the time of making the reservation with the member? Can we pay by credit card?

2. Is it just like booking a hotel room where you don't know what room you get until you are there? Or can you request certain areas or views?

3. We are interested in staying at the BCV September 10-15, will that be nearly impossible at this point only 6 months out or do we still stand a chance?

1. How you pay is determined by the member you rent from. Some require full, other a deposit. It really depends.

2. Yes that is correct. You won't know what room you will have until you get there. You can request certain areas or views but remember they are in fact just that - requests. Not guaranteed.

3. You might have a chance still, post on the rent/trade board to see if anyone has anything avail.

I rented from the same party a few times paid a deposit after receiving the conformation paid in full.

Yes, you can request areas etc. no garrantties though.

Probally will be doable.

Watch out though renting can get you addicted, I did and now own.
