Hey

First one: I am sharing an Illuminations Cruise with a bunch of lovely folk - the info they have sent me says that I have to be at YC/BC Marina for 8.15 - how do I get here from AK and how long should I leave to get there??

Second one: Shopping. I am planning on visiting the Florida Mall and Premium Outlets - is either of LBV Factory Outlets or Crossroads worth visiting or offer anything diffferent?

Ta!

If you mean from the Park AK then just hop on a bus to the Yacht and Beach Club.

Here is a MAP of the Y&BC just walk through the lobby and out to where is says boat rental and that is where you pick up your cruise :) I personally would leave 1 hour before just in case I need to wait for a bus and I like to be early ;)

Hi,
From our experiences Florida Mall is the essential shopping trip whilst in Orlando, they have all the big department stores, the classic USA stores like Old Navy, Abercrombie and American Eagle. :cool1:

We were not blown away by the premium outlets to be honest and came away with one Nike holdall, and a huge amount of disappointment. :confused3

We went to the LBV factory outlet in 1999 and it was above average then. I think there was an Adidas store which had large reductions and large stock. :cheer2:

It does depend on what you are looking for and how long you've got to look for it, but as a pointer to the direction we are taking in 9 days time, we are only hitting the Florida Mall during our stay in Orlando as they have everything we need. I believe last time (in 2003) we managed to kill 6 hours in the Florida Mall (My Wife and I), it is that good!!!! :teeth:

Of course, as we are heading to Fort Lauderdale for part of our trip we might just find time to take in Sawgrass Mills

Have fun shopping :wave2:

Julian

Thanks folks

Kaylee - I'm driving from AK so hopefully it shouldn't take too long. I was planning on Rainforest for tea at AK (at 6pm) then leave at about 7.30 to get to the Marina - fingers crossed!!

We got there nice and early. we went to Beaches and Cream first then had a stroll round the Boardwalk. we even had a go on the surrey bikes which was just hilarious. It was good to be a little early, soak up the atmosphere and get excited about the trip!!

Good point - I might do that actually - but it would mean having to drag me away from AK!!

I'm sure you could be dragged away for a couple of extra hours!!! ;)

Nick, we were pretty underwhelmed with the LBV Factory Outlets in December. I love the Florida Mall though ;)

I agree - we did go to the premium outlets a couple of times last trip - but only for an hour at a time and picked up a couped of presents for our label happy friends.

The mall wins hands down though, we went on the first day - as I'd saved up for a new digital camera - and my DH2B who HATES shopping, just would not leave the place... in fact between the mall and Belz he just wouldn't stop flashing his credit card around, and I cannot get him to shop at home :0)
