Hi all,
just wondering about a couple of things for our trip in January...
firstly, we are staying at the Santa Fe and it says we can hire/buy tea making stuff...does anyone know how much this costs, or should I stick a travel kettle in my bag!!

also, I am taking DD (who will be just 5) as well as my sis-in-law and niece, if one of the adults queues for rides, will people mind if the other takes the kids for a short walk as they're not too good at waiting, or will people get angry and think we are queue jumping?

thanks
Jen

you can hire a kettle for a deposit of 30 euros, you get this back when you return the kettle.

you can buy a tea/coffee basket for around 6 euros but i dont think its worth it. i would just take tea/coffee/sugar from breakfast and buy some milk in the shop

i wouldnt recommend taking your dd for a walk and trying to re-enter the queue. most queues you would have to literally pass through everyone(instead of passing under a barrier or something) and i doubt anyone would take to kindly too it. to be honest it is queue jumping if only one person is waiting in line. outside of each ride there is a waiting time posted. i would recommend you use extra magic hours in the morning to get the kids rides in with very little if any wait. you can also use fastpass for certain rides. you get a ticket with a time stated on it. you return at that time and join the fastpass queue which can help make the wait time shorter

thanks, I wasn't sure how the queues worked, thought we might be able to "duck under a rope" or something! I'll take sweets to keep them going while they wait!!

there aren't many like that to be honest. you have to go through the queue to get to someone at the top. between that and the language barriers i think you would just be setting yourself up for trouble.

In regards to the tea basket, we paid E8 and it contained 2 fruit tea bags (which needed to be exchanged), 2 decaffinated coffee sachets, 4 sugar sachets and 4 UHT milks although we didn't pay a deposit for the kettle, they just sent a maintanence man up with it.

It wasn't worth the money as for the rest of our stay, we were able to help ourselves to tea, coffee and sugar sachets from the breakfast buffet and we bought a small UHT milk carton from the hotel shop for E0,80.

I took the pre-made cups that u can buy in the pound shop, pack of 10. You just add water, i bought chocolate and coffee packs

We stayed at SL and i asked at reception for a kettle, i didnt have to pay any deposit, that might just be that hotel tho

we always take our own kettle (mind you the first few times we stayed in the Cheyenne they didn't advertise the hire). As we drive so luggage restrictions don't apply we take coffee, hot chocolate, and some noodles or similar for snacks late on (we aren't very organised about booking restaurants and I really picky so we've ended up with chips for tea). I try and gather a few UHT milks from cafes we visit in the months before we go to take with us for emergencies (as only dh has milk). We also take a bottle of wine for after ds has gone to bed. DS has autism and knows that 8pm is bedtime so we are rarely out after that even at Disney! So 9pm we are often watching a dvd with glass of wine - but we are always on the first bus on a morning.

I take my own travel kettle, and also the hot drinks in cups from Pound shops (we have Galaxy hot chocolate this time :)). It all fits fine in our hand luggage too.
