A couple of interesting articles in today's Sentinel - Festival Bay/PotC discussion

Interesting read about Festival Bay - we first went in Feb '03 and were really looking forward at going back in '05 but it was just as empty as before - and it seems this hasn't changed much. Ah well, here's hoping that the changes in the article come to fruition by the time we get back in '07!

Interesting that the Cricketers Arms is moving to Fesitval Bay...no wonder i suppose, the Merracado is dreadful these days.

Personaly I like Festival Bay a lot, I went there twice last month.

We have always liked Festival Bay but it's a shame many of the plots remain untaken.
It's worth a visit for the Ron Jon's store alone.

ROn Jon was cool, i walked round for 45 mins going "Want that one" "no no want that one"

Also loved the Bass Pro shop, everything under one roof, its the future...

If you want to go shopping, Festival Bay boasts one of the best value stores in the whole of the US, in our opinion. Steve & Barry's University Sportswear is a HUGE emporium of shirts, sweat-shirts, jackets, shoes and more, all at an incredible $7.98 per article. Yes, that's right - $7.98 for everything, including their fancy bomber-style jackets, trainers and walking boots. You can virtually outfit the whole family here for next to nothing, and there is a great range of choice, too. Check out their website: http://www.steveandbarrys.com/website/index.html

Me too, I picked up a few things from there. The items I got are actualy really good quality for the money !...Im grateful to those 8 year olds working in some 3rd world country for 6 quid a week that enables me to buy these things so cheaply :-)

Unbelievably cheap , spent some time in there last March - Festival Bay being the only mall open on Easter Sunday.

Yeah I have never actually been in but have looked inside a few times.
There are some very unique stores there.

Good point, Johnny. Shepler's Western Wear, Ron Jon's and Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World are real (huge!) one-offs and worth looking around even if you don't buy anything. The restaurant choice there is getting better, too, with Fuddruckers, Dixie Crossings and (later this year) Bergamo's.

The worst quote I have ever read on these boards - do you really wallow in satisfaction about exploiting child labour? It could be said that by supporting these shops you are helping their economy which is true and acceptable but to actually make a quote like that is sickening.
