a couple of cutbacks we noticed

I say good for Disney on the park maps. If they can find a way to save money in a way that does not affect my vacation experience in a negative way and use those savings to make improvements/additions somewhere else or use those savings to not increase the price of something else-then great. If they can use those savings to increase shareholder return and not affect my experience at all-then great.

The water size change doesn't surpise me. Companies everywhere are doing it, mostly the food manufacturers themselves. Rather than raising the price on an item which people quickly notice, they make the serving size smaller which is harder to detect.

Agreed.

I think those are small (petty) things. If Disney was taking the same amount of money from me and cutting park hours by 3 each a day and charging me $200 for a value, I would be very upset.

I only need a map for my scrapbooking as a keepsake. Many of them just get tossed in the trash and on the ground. Smaller waste is good.

Wow, I thought we just caught EPCOT on a bad day this past Sunday. My fiance and I have not been in about 3 years, so when we got annual passes this past weekend and made a quick jaunt over to the World, we were surprised that the bathroom cleanliness was not there. He had a difficult time trying to find a bathroom clean enough to use while we were there. I told him to stop by guest relations and say something, but he said he just thought we caught them on a bad day and didn't say anything.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

I have not. I have always found the bathrooms to be clean. The only place on my entire trip that I find dirty bathrooms are the airports.

I think the new park maps are a win/win situation as WDW saves big bucks by having the attraction times and such on a seperate sheet so they do not have to print up as many maps AND I love the smaller maps as they are easier to read and put in my vacation purse. I like the printed sheet with the times and such being seperate as many times that is the only info I need and I do not have to stop, drag out the old huge map and block the path of everyone while I search for my info. :thumbsup2

Slightly Goofy (who picks up one set of new park maps to being home for the scrapbook each trip)

Hi,

We arrived yesterday and I couple of things we noticed that in our mind are cost cutting measures.

1. The park maps are smaller and the paper quality is thinner. This is something that changed since our last trip in Jan of this year. If you have never been or have not been in a long time you would probaly not notice this change but for someone who visits often it is very noticiable and comes off as a cost cutting measure.

2. The Dasani bottled water now is only 20oz with no sports caps. It used to be the 24oz bottles with the sports caps for $2.00 now it is the smaller bottle.

I battle with the above as I am a big efficiency and maximizing profit person when I am in my business mode and as a stock holder I want Dinsey to maximize profits but I just hate to be nickled and dimed.

Edited to read Dasani instead of Dannon. Sorry about the original typo.

If you are a "big efficiency and maximizing profit person" then you should completely understand. Business 101: buy low sell high

We were in WDW for MNSSHP the third weekend in October and I bought 24 oz. Disani bottles of water. I drink much more water, or anything else, at a given time than my wife (I'm bigger than she is) so I always go for the larger size for me.

I prefer the sports drinks but you can't find them at most of (or seems to me, any of) the counter service walk-ups. You can only find them at certain street venders so I usually just get a water rather than a soft drink and didn't have any problems at MK or Epcot. I made the effort to find a sports drink at the AK when I was thirsty, though. It always seems so much hotter there.
