A couple of California Grill questions . . .

Hi guys! We're planning a California Grill reception for December 8th and we're trying to decide which room to use - Napa or Sonoma. Our group is small - expecting around 25 or so guests, so size doesn't seem to be of much concern. Either room should accommodate us.

My questions are:

(1) Does the Sonoma Room have a bar? We were planning to have a package bar, but I didn't actually see a bar in any of the Sonoma Room photos.

(2) Super-silly question . . . one of the primary reasons we chose the CG (aside from the really tasty food) is the ability to view the MK fireworks. I realize that if we use the Sonoma Room, we'll have to go onto the catwalks to view the fireworks, but I was wondering about the music that they pipe in. We'll be there on a Christmas Party night . . . will they be able to play the music, even though it is a special version of Wishes? It seems like they will, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer.

Thanks!

The Napa room faces the Castle and has a bar, the sanoma room faces Ft. Wilderness and doesn't have a bar. That's what I gathered from the pictures on Mouseweddings.com

I don't know if they pipe in the music.

Also if you use the Napa or Sanoma rooms you have to use Califorina Grill's catering menu.

They pipe the music in on the main catwalk that is accessible to California Grill patrons, but I'm not sure if they do it on the catwalk by the Sonoma Room...

They DO pipe music on the catwalks (and inside the Napa Room). Once you are up on the 15th floor- you are able to use either catwalk. Sonoma had a bar last time I was in there- they can always use a mobile bar set-up (like in hotel convention rooms).

A great spot to have a wedding!

Thanks Chuck! That's what we were thinking. Haven't made a final decision yet on which room to use . . . we have a couple of weeks to think about it :-)

I'm using both rooms, and just had my site visit last week, so I think I can help.

The Napa room has a built in bar. The Sonoma room does not, but if you're getting a bar package they bring in a portable one. We're using the Sonoma Room for our pre-reception and cocktail hour - and they said no problem (and no extra charge).

As far as the music being piped in, we were assured it would be piped in both catwalks.

But one thing to think about is if you use the Sonoma room, at night (since you're asking about Wishes, I assume that's what you're thinking of) you loose the view of the lake, because that part of the lake is not lighted.

Just something to think about.

It really is a cool space for a smaller group!
