I wanted to share my recent budget helpers.
I have a Nissan and they offer a rewards program for using their service department. Over the past 2 years I accumulated a little over $40 in rewards dollars. They were due to expire on June 30th, so I went to the quick service place they have and told the service guy the situation. It was almost time for an oil change so I told him I would do that. He looked up my information and suggested a tire rotation, which would use most of the money. I suggested an air filter that I have asked my husband to change several times, but it never happens. He added that to the list. So I got an oil change, tire rotation, and air filter for a grand total of $11.12. Awesome.
I have not had much luck accumulating rewards from Kohl's. I have a rewards account, but don't know where the card is. They were supposedly attaching the rewards number to people's Kohl's charge but that must not have been working well, because I still wasn't getting any rewards. I was told by an employee that they were having some issues with the program. A little while back, a cashier tied my account to my phone number. Now I give that at checkout and I finally got a $10 reward email. I also had $30 in Kohl's cash. I went tonight and got my son a pair of new school shoes for $15 out of my pocket.
