I wanted to share my recent budget helpers.

I have a Nissan and they offer a rewards program for using their service department. Over the past 2 years I accumulated a little over $40 in rewards dollars. They were due to expire on June 30th, so I went to the quick service place they have and told the service guy the situation. It was almost time for an oil change so I told him I would do that. He looked up my information and suggested a tire rotation, which would use most of the money. I suggested an air filter that I have asked my husband to change several times, but it never happens. He added that to the list. So I got an oil change, tire rotation, and air filter for a grand total of $11.12. Awesome. :thumbsup2

I have not had much luck accumulating rewards from Kohl's. I have a rewards account, but don't know where the card is. They were supposedly attaching the rewards number to people's Kohl's charge but that must not have been working well, because I still wasn't getting any rewards. I was told by an employee that they were having some issues with the program. A little while back, a cashier tied my account to my phone number. Now I give that at checkout and I finally got a $10 reward email. I also had $30 in Kohl's cash. I went tonight and got my son a pair of new school shoes for $15 out of my pocket. :thumbsup2

Regarding the Kohls rewards: That happened to me a few times. It was quite frustrating because I would have to email them my purchase order number, total, date and store each time. All my points were given to me though. At one point it was something like triple points and I have probably got over $100 in rewards!

I never had the patience to keep up with all my receipts. Back in January, a friend told me to call in with my receipts from Christmas and they would give me credit for them. I did and the lady on the phone said I would be getting an email with a $25 reward but I never got the email. I hate calling those kinds of places, so I never did anything about it. I guess I should be more on top of it because I shop there a lot.
