Gray Lantern hmmm. Well it is black and white and no other hues so i'm going to say you saw a black and white image of furniture. I could be wrong.

Or the color could have been removed from the image seeing how he wasn't in the room. Like when you move to another room or looking to go to one i'm sure the color doesn't stay in the items.

A gray lantern looks kind of bland. It probably is just a black-and-white image of one of the lanterns we already have.
