A Christmas Extravaganza of auditions, adventures & new friends!-Updated 8/28x3!!

Lots of fun character meet n' greets, even if they aren't always super memorable. I really like that photo with FGM at the very least!

I always do a double take when I see Christmas decorations and shortsleeves/sunglasses in the same photo, haha!

You got me hooked on this thread as soon as I read the Tremaine post! My DH and I met them last month on our honeymoon. It was one of the rare moments where we were in the right place at the right time. We looked for them in their normal location and they were not out. DH had to use the bathroom so I waited and all of a sudden I see them coming towards our direction. I'm freaking out like, "He needs to come back out!" The formed a line where I didn't expect so I was about 6th back. DH eventually came out and we waited. We've always seen youtube proposal videos so we decided to do that. We were so lucky that we had a woman behind us willing to take our photos. And she did an amazing job, even getting candid moments! Anyway we spoke with Cinderella earlier in the trip who said her stepfamily was lovely and they were coming to the palace to clean for her. We didn't buy it so we asked if it was true. Anastasia said Cinderella likes to live in her own little fairytale and not to believe it. Eventually DH took the lead and said we got married, but we didn't know that we'd ever meet them (sort of like we settled). But because we met them now, we got down on our knees and proposed. I always thought I'd propose to Anastasia, but DH went to her so I settled with Drizella, which ended up being a good choice. She was like, "This one is already shaking!" When we told them that my last name was King and Drizella would marry a King, she jumped up and down screaming. When we said DH's first name means little King, Anastasia then joined in on the fun! We even told Lady Tremaine my father was a king and perhaps she could marry him. Drizella insisted I get her a big crown. Lady Tremaine noticed our photographer and said, "Do you have her always follow you around?"

We saw them the next day, but it was a different Anastasia and Lady Tremaine (the one you met). I've seen her in videos so I wanted to meet her, but their line formed up quickly. So DH was off to the side of them and in between guests he just said, "Happy Mother's Day, Lady Tremaine." She appreciated the sentiments and I think they made up a song about it a minute later.

I have a trip report going on now and hopefully soon will be adding this story along with the photos!

Hi Katt! I finally had a chance to catch up on this TR. I think I totally missed the October one, sorry! Do you have any others going that I'm missing? :rotfl:

I loved the interaction with the Tremaines. I've been doing better with the face character greets, Jim and I had an awesome one with Gaston in May and I even went and saw Ariel all by myself that trip!

I'll at least wander by Canada and say hi. :) I'll be there the 26 - 31, so we'll see how it all shakes out! So excited for you!

Sounds like you had an interesting mix of hit or miss with the characters this morning! Hopefully Gaston made up for Peter. And if we retire to Florida, I really want to be friends with Lady Tremaine or The Fairy Godmother. And yes, I'm aware there's quite a difference between the two, LOL!

Haha awesome!!!

It was interesting! I think Gaston kinda made up for Peter, I had a fine time with Peter and love Wendy so it was great for me lol!! Ahaha that would be TOTALLY awesome!!

Tell your friend Steven that I totally think he looks like Peter Pan and would be perfect for the part! :thumbsup2

Ahahaha oh I will!! We all say that he'd be the perfect "friend" of Peter but he's MUCH too tall :rotfl: Sad day!

We just got back from our May trip yesterday and we had the same Lady Tremaine at 1900 Park Fare! She was wonderfully hilarious!

And I didn't say anything earlier, but I saw you in the massive line for the buses the morning of the 24 hour party! I went inside to fill up water bottles and saw you in line and planned to say "Hi" when I came back to meet up with my family, but you had just gotten out of line and were booking it to (I'm assuming) another form of transportation so I didn't want to stop you! I hope you made it to the Magic Kingdom in time for park opening! We *just* made it after getting on the 3rd bus!

ARG REALLY?!?!!? We didn't see her ONCE during our whole May trip, with 3 days in MK searching for her AND a 1900 pf reservation!! Noticed she was in the villains pre parade but Jenna got super tired and we left insanely early so I don't know if she came out for sets or not!

AHHH!!! That's crazy!! Ahahaha, yeah I ended up saying "screw it" and called a cab for that morning! We made it in time for the show, watched after we got through bag check and went through the "turnstiles" after, we weren't too worried about getting into the park but rather seeing the show right away!!

Sorry Peter wasn't better, but he definitely looks the part at least, lol.

HAHA, Boy, Steven really brings on the sass to the characters, doesn't he?

A character to "talk" with? :hyper:

Oh definitely!! I've seen that friend a few times since then and he's great, I think he just wasn't feelin it that morning lol.

Dear GAWD it just gets worse as the trips go on….

YES!

omg your videos with the Tremaines are literally AMAZING! I have tears from laughing so hard!

Wow you guys are meeting ALL THE CHARACTERS!

AH I can't wait to hear about the next interaction! Is there video of it I hope!?

Ahahahah I'm usually crying out of laughter during the meets for what it's worth!

Characters are the biggest thing with the 3 of us, and it just gets better!!

AH! I totally HAD a video of it at one point, I'll search for it before I post!

wow - that visit with the Tremaines was great!

I think my favorite part of the video is one of the sisters yelling "suck it in! suck it in!" in trying to fit the ring on Lady Tremaine's wrist :rotfl2:

always a bummer when a meet doesn't go as well as you hope ... I just like to think that each "friend" has different attribute and some are probably better with little kids and some better with crews like yours (well, not really any other crew exactly like yours ;) ), etc.

Welcome back from your latest trip by the way!

They are always amazing! Ahahah YES! that's one of my favorite parts too!

It totally is true!! I usually don't judge too harshly, it can be a little bit awkward dealing with a group of kids your own age, and depending on how they act, it can make it even different. Wendy was certainly perfect! Lol

Hahah thank you!!

RIGHT?! Being from Canada, it's SUPER weird to think about that. My mom commented on a photo being all "tank tops and christmas trees don't belong together!" lol

Ahaha that is amazing!! The Tremaines are the greatest!!

:rotfl2: Just this one for right now!! Hopefully I will be starting May soon and having 2 going at once, but that's about it lol!! You didn't miss much in Oct lol!

They are seriously perfect!! That's awesome!! Yay for more characters!

Hey ya'll!! So I'm going to at least attempt to speed up this TR maybe? Lol. I just want it to be done by mid Sept, hopefully by the time we leave for our Sept trip, as I still have May's TR to write & post, plus Septembers, plus preparing for the big move and hopefully attempting to do a semi-live TR for my year working for the Mouse!

In other news, here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIbWRGE8jcU
Is the trip video I made of our Rock Your DisneySide trip, so feel free to check that out!!!

And in OTHER news, with the announcment of Villains Unleashed yesterday, and Steven & I being passholders….guess who's going back for some Villains & FOTLK in AUGUUUUUUSSSSTTTTT :cool1::wave2::banana:

Here's hoping that doesn't crush too much spending money for Sept!! #whoops

Also as a heads up, I cannot for the life of me find the other Tremaine video, and I THOUGHT I had a video to go along with the new update but it would be on my old phone and thus I have no clue where to find it either….

*****************

In case you haven’t guessed yet, we were heading over to Town Square Theater to see the main man himself, Mickey! Obviously, we’d all met him before, but there was no talking going on from him in those days, so it was a very exciting moment!! I don’t think we waited too long to get in to see him, and we were behind a couple that was from Japan.

Now, I’d seen some videos, and talking Mickey is super cool, but I was all “pre-recorded, bleh” not anything super crazy. So, imagine my surprise when Mickey actually full on had a conversation with these two! The attendant mentioned that they were from Japan, and Mickey said something about how awesome that was, and then started talking about how they say hello in Japanese, and then had everyone in the room say Kinnichowa (I know that’s CLEARLY spelt wrong I just have no clue bahha).

IT. WAS. INSANE.

I was freaking out and may or may not have been tearing up because something like this is totally awesome and beyond freaking cool that they’re able to do it! Soon it was our turn to say hello!

He signed Amanda’s book and then asked which pose we should do for the photo, and suggested the winning one.

Meanwhile we kinda all look like derps while Mickey looks totally wicked, but hey, the pose takes practice!

We got some last minute hugs, and said goodbye to our mousey friend and moved on out of the theater.

BUT SERIOUSLY.

GUYS.

This experience was something that was BEYOND insane for me, and I’m sure it will be a little on the crazy side for a while now, it’s just something that you don’t ever expect to happen, and it’s something that I think Walt would be beyond thrilled that we are able to actually converse with Mickey Mouse now. Walt was all about progression, moving forward, using new technology, experimenting and trying new things to make the experience of Disney the best that it could be, and I fully believe that Mickey having the ability to talk to guests is something he would be insanely proud of.

…..and now I’m totally crying….

Bahahhaa.

Our next biggest “to do” of the earlier half of the day was of course, another character meet! Amanda’s friend, Cassy, was hanging out with Jessie over in Frontierland that day, so once we had the proper set times, we made our way over towards Splash Moutain!

Now, I have no pictures of this : ( I’m guessing they all went onto Amanda & Steven’s phone, but we’ll tell the stories anyways! Lol. The wait wasn’t that long for us and we made it up to the front in no time, Amanda of course, going in first. She took some solo pics, and Jessie motioned for her to give Woody a kiss on the cheek, which she did. This of course sent the Sherriff into a tizzy, where he went spinning around, wobbiling as if he was going to pass out from such a pretty girl giving him a kiss. All fun and games until he hit Steven’s back pack that was on the ground, and nearly toppled onto the VERY pregnant attendant and onto the ground. Luckily Steven gave him a nice loving push back up to standing before Woody actually fell, and of course, the attendant turned to us and was instantly “Is your stuff okay?!?”

….like…duh….who cares about our bag when we’re clearly more worried about the performer and you who nearly got toppled in to!

Clearly it made for a memorable experience, even without the pictures! We all jumped in for some photos and hugs, and then said good bye to Andy’s toys to snag a spot in Frontierland for what would probably be our last viewing of Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade!

The three of us had a bit to wait since the parade had started over on Main Street, but we kept entertained, specifically watching the stupid BIRDS over in Frontierland, those things are SERIOUSLY INSANE.

(Like, they’ve gotten progressively worse since Dec, we went over to watch Hoedown and they were SWOOPING in and out every 2 seconds, freaking us both out a LOT).

There was one parade control cast member who was waiting in the middle of the road, just directing people across when they needed to and stopping people from walking down the center of the path since the parade was coming…there were a couple of birds who did the whole “do I want to land no, oh nope, I don’t, maybe I’ll just flap here for a second” that were flapping around right above this guys head. He then proceeded to shake his hands the slightest bit to try and make them go away, but it was like, right AFTER they’d flown off, which in return sent the 3 of us into a hysteria of laughter. It was like the moment in Up when Carl’s trying to get Kevin (the bird) to go away, and Kevin simply waves back at him…yeah…like that… Bahaha.

Luckily the birds seemed to chill out once the actual parade started coming on through and it was a great time!

Two things to throw in here: number one, I’ve gotten a Mac computer since I was last writing trip reports, so I have a better photo editing tool! Some of this is apparent, and sometimes I just liked to play around a bit to see how neat I could make the photos! Number two; we had been talking with our friend who was hanging out with Drizella earlier/during the parade and told her pretty much exactly where we were sitting to try and get a great interaction, but the timing didn’t QUITE work out perfectly bahah!

Yay!! We all enjoyed the parade a lot, especially knowing that it would be the last time we would all see it. It does really suck to know that I’ll never see it in person again, CADCT really did mean a lot. I mean, it stuck with the dreams coming true, the believe in yourself, the wishes, it had a lots of awesome and fantastic characters in it that you might not see otherwise. Truth, the parade performer costumes do need to be retired, though I am still unsure on how I feel about some of the new Festival of Fantasy costumes, but I’ll make a final call on it once I’ve seen it, in full, and in person! Word from the inside scoop is that it’s fantastic though! ;)

Anyways, it was great to see, and we had lots of good interactions from the performers and characters, and also noticed a TON of repeat performers from earlier in the day at rope drop & ones we (maybe?) had seen in passing from MiSi?

Since we were in Frontierland, it lucked out that our fast pass plus return time for Splash Mountain timed out perfectly with when the parade ended! We had a great ride through the Briar Patch and only managed to get wet from the cannons going off while someone else went over the drop! SO CLOSE TO STAYING DRY! Haha.

Amanda, Steven & I browsed our way back over to the hub after our adventure with the Brer Crew, I’m sure we stopped to pin and or vinylmation trade along the way, but we eventually found ourselves back in the hub with an invitation to a CASTLE PARTY!

The princesses were lovely as ever, and again, I was able to play around with the editing on some of the photos. However, the real stars of Dream Along today were Peter & Wendy, I do not know how or why, but they were owning the pictures I got of them!

Like, she goes from Derpy to Model in a matter of seconds! It’s insane. I will also jump in here to say that we’ve had the chance to actually meet this friend of Wendy’s on our last trip (no trip report there lol) and she is PERFECT. She was also hanging with Rosetta that same night and I have never met a more perfect Rosetta. In the movies, she may be this Southern Bell who’s all girly, but everyone forgets that she’s actually quite derpy and kind of hilarious, so it was nice to see that side of her brought out in the parks!

Well, the castle party was going fantastic, but as we all know, we can’t have a party without an evil queen, hag, witch, whatever you may please….hearing about it and just wanting to ruin it!

A great show! Seriously, like, it never fails to make me emotional, again, all about the dreams, and them coming true, and all that kind of stuff. Disney just does it right, that’s for sure! We did all three notice that Cinderella seemed to be having an off kind of day, she didn’t look like she was in the best of moods, and for us to be able to tell from that far away, who knows? Lol. Whatevs!

The day was nearing to a close as evening slowly took over the Magic Kingdom, we knew that we should probably head over and get out wrist bands for tonight’s Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!! The process actually took what felt like forever, and there were some people who were much to close for comfort in the line, but soon enough we got the bands and of course, got distracted….

And yes, in case you were wondering, that just seems to be our go to classic pose….deal with it…

Our adventures took us deeper into Tomorrowland, as we had fast pass plus reservations for Space Mountain this time! Upon arriving at the gates, I was intrigued by something, and wanted to try it out. Of course, I had heard all about “double dipping” on the disboards, ie, using the magic bands for fast pass plus, and then using your ticket/kttwc for another paper fast pass.

Well…all three of us had the bands, and had a hard copy ticket (AP/UT ticket) AND now had a hard MVMCP ticket in hand….well…lo and behold, we were each able to pull an extra TWO fast passes for Space right then! It was pretty cool! We jumped through the line first using our fast pass plusses!

On the way out of Space Mountain, Steven lagged behind leaving the gift stop, and when he caught up with us, and 2 Anniversary Buttons for he and I! Bahaha, we had joked about pretending it was our anniversary that trip, but hadn’t bothered actually going along with it until then, so buttons intact, we moved along. And now, we kinda took a long adventure around the park where I have no pictures, but hey, that’s okay!

I wanted a pretzel, so we ventured around over to Frontierland for a snack stop, and then stopped to check out the Jungle Cruise since it was all “re-themed” for Christmas, but the line was STILL way too long for any of us to want to bother with it, so we moved on. Naturally, we ended up back in the hub, and our timing was perfect as we could hear the Move It Shake It Celebrate It was just starting. We crossed into the center, and I promptly told Steven to not take offence as if I noticed the oh so cute stilts performer friend of mine, the Anniversary button was coming off…. Steven said that was fine as long as I knew his was coming off once we saw Peter, bahaha.

And of course….once they were making their circle around the hub, I noticed the friend of mine, and practically THREW the button over to Amanda, and she actually wore it for the next little bit, bahaha. We danced a bit, said hi to Stilts guy and once the dance party part was over, we made our way back over to Space to use our paper fast passes!

I have no idea what’s going on in the photo…don’t ask… We did all agree that we liked it a lot better in the front car, because you can actually SEE everything a little bit better than being in the back, it adds that thrill! On the way out, we did decided that that was enough of Space Mountain for today, and we gifted our other three to a very appreciative group that was out in Tomorrowland! See, we may have triple dipped, but we gave away some pixie dust too!!

Talking Mickey was one of the best experiences from my February trip! He played card tricks with Mom and I and we were with him for a good 10 minutes. I really thought since we were adults we'd get rushed through but we weren't!

That story about Woody almost taking a tumble is hilarious! I'm sure the characters do take tumbles once in a while and it would be fun to see (as long as no one was hurt of course).

So sad to see the CDCT parade. Mom and I saw the floats being dismantled backstage when we did the KTTK tour. I'm really excited to see the new parade and even though Mom is not a big fan of parades I think she will want to see it since we saw them rehearsing for the Maleficent float. I could have seen it in May but Jim despises parades so I decided not to force him to watch. I was trying not to look at the photos of the parade but I couldn't help myself and watched it on the 24 hour feed. I really did not get a lot of work done that day, I just stared at Main Street all day. :rotfl2:

I WILL see DAWM in December! I have yet to catch the full show. I don't want to miss it permanently like I did with the AK parade. I never saw that one live and now it's gone. :(

I can't wait to see your Christmas Party pictures because I'm planning on doing it in December!

I won't get to it for a while in my TR, but suffice it to say Talking Mickey was a MAJOR highlight of our trip. Maddie freaked out. I don't think she'll forget about that for a while.

Oh poor Woody! I'm so glad he didn't actually fall down. The CMs are amazing aren't they? So nice that she was worried about your stuff.

Can't wait to hear more, I'm trying to do better at keeping up with all the TRs I'm subbed to.

Okay, I almost snorted coffee when I got to you ripping your anniversary button off - LOL!!! :rotfl: Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do though!

Honestly Katt, I don't know how you'll manage to do all these TR's, but I have no doubt you will.

Aww gee Katt, I loved your video!!! I can't remember if this was Jenna's first Disney trip (I think so), but I'm guessing if so, it won't be her last. Her "It's so beautiful" upon entering MK on Rock Your DisneySide was precious. Awesome job!!! And Voices of Liberty made me cry... again. My GOD I love them.

I agree wholeheartedly about everything you said about Talking Mickey. And it's only gonna get better I think.

Oh wow, almost an "ANDY'S COMING!!!" moment there with Woody. Thank goodness all was ok.

Haha, yeah, I hope you get to see Festival of Fantasy at some point... :rolleyes1

You know, you're right. The party wrist band distribution is quite the chore sometimes.

OK, did NOT know about the party ticket FP ability. Interesting. Of course, people were using credit/debit cards, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I honestly sit here all of the time and am in awe of how often you get down there. Like, I look at my own funds and I'm like.......wha?! :rotfl2:

Talking with Mickey is one of the best experiences, hands down. It was canned when we went, but it still didn't make it any less cool.

Woah, complete and utter Woody craziness! I'm glad a disaster was averted though.

Hahaha, I totally remember you walking through Frontierland all on edge about the birds. :rotfl2:

Your video was absolutely precious and I love it!

I'm 100% sure I'm gonna cry for 2 reasons in January

1) Talking Mickey. I was sure of it before and you relating it back to Walt has made me positively sure of it! Plus, my little sister is coming and she hasn't been since we went as kids when she was like 5 so I don't even know how much she remembers! And I've been filling her in on a lot but I haven't told her about Talking Mickey because I want it to be a complete surprise!

2) NO CELEBRATE A DREAM. I'm seriously going to cry while watching FoF. I mean, it looks amazing and I can't wait to see it but it will definitely be bittersweet.

Score on the extra Space Mountain Fps.

:rotfl2: It's hilarious that you guys wore anniversary buttons and even more hilarious that you threw it off for stilts friend!

wow triple dipping! Bad with chip 'n' dip but great for space mountain!

Glad everyone was ok but sounds like a scary moment with Woody!

Those are some great pics of Peter and Wendy ... especially your first one where they look like they are flashing gang signs or something :rotfl:

Talking Mickey looks soooo cool. That's awesome you got to interact with him! And I completely agree with the idea that Walt would be so proud to have that character literally come to life. I wish all characters had the ability (I'm sure one day!), but it's really special that Mickey is the 1st character you can talk to!

Sad about the Celebrate parade, but from the pics I've seen of Festival of Fantasy, I think it'll be a great replacement! Everything about that parade looks gorgeous! Can't wait to see it in person!

I've never had a thing for DAWM, but Wendy is looking all kinds of fierce! :rotfl:

So funny about Woody! They're normally sooo apologetic if something like that happens, but you can't blame them! Poor CM, I would have been more concerned about her too. Haha what if that baby was literally born at MK?! Most magical baby ever!

Cool about the triple-dipping thing, I know its not an option anymore, but at least you got to spread some pixie dust! That's one bad thing about the magic bands though... no more of that!

I had totally forgotten about Woody almost falling over. I think steven has most of the pictures on his phone from the interaction. I always have the best interactions with those two when a certain friend is hanging around. It always makes the trip memorable!

First congrats on becoming a CM!!!! Maybe I will see you this Dec when I am down there. pixiedust:

Awesome time with Mickey. Isn't he the coolest? I was amazed when I first met him and he was talking! :cool1:

Okay I know you LOVE MNSSHP but I can't wait to read about MVMCP as this is all I have attended so far (this Sept will be my first time at MNSSHP and I am overly excited!!! :hyper:)

I can't wait to read more!

Talking Mickey is absolutely fantastic! Like, I know it can be a bit creepy, or a bit robotic, but ti was quite the experience that's for sure!!

RIGHT?! There are some videos of Mike Wazowski falling which were hilarious until I talked to someone who used to hang out with him and she said that his insides are all unfinished metal, so if you fall, you're hurt, that's for sure :(

Ahahha, that's totally fair, that's all I would've done if I hadn't been there! As much as I loved CADCT I absolutely love FoF and don't think that anything could be done better in it! It gets more amazing every time I see it!

Lol! Definitely check it out!! I don't think it's leaving anytime soon, but you never know if it's going anywhere really! And yay! MVMCP is definitely a good time!

I won't get to it for a while in my TR, but suffice it to say Talking Mickey was a MAJOR highlight of our trip. Maddie freaked out. I don't think she'll forget about that for a while.

Awwe! YAY! I'm super glad! I've heard some amazing stories and then some stories that are just not that great, so I'm glad that Maddie freaked out in the good way! Can't wait to hear about it!

Lol! I've bene sucky at it this go around, so I understand if you aren't totally caught up lol!

Okay, I almost snorted coffee when I got to you ripping your anniversary button off - LOL!!! :rotfl: Girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do though!

Ahahahahahaha RIGHT?! It was actually super hilarious for me to read when I was posting it because he's actually a friend of mine now who I've met/hung out with in real life as opposed to being "stilts guy" :rotfl: Small world!

Ahahah yeah, I hope that I can keep up with/speed through some stuff, who knows?! I figure I'll keep updating once a week or so with this & May and go from there! It's gonna be the Oct semi-live one that will keep me insane the most lol

Awee thank you!! It was her first trip!! And her first reaction to seeing MK & the castle makes me tear up so much! I'd totally forgotten I'd video-ed that moment so when I re discovered it editing things I was super happy!

Lol, yup, the fall was quite scary

Ahahahahahaha, I GUESS I'll have to take some time to see fof on my next trip down :lmao:

Really?? I could've SWORN I messaged you about the ticket thing! Guess it didn't go through!!

:rotfl2:

Ahahaha yeah, I don't spend a whole lot of money on anything else currently, or ever….especially since I stopped dancing too lol. Also minimum wage is higher here, and I've been with my company almost 6 years now, plus tips! Hahaha

Lol, yeah, birds are not fun!

Thank you!!

Awwe!! Moments like that are good cry's though…kinda lol…you'll definitely enjoy FoF though! I nearly cried the first time I saw it in person!

Right?! Best day ever! Lol.

Ahahahahaha yeah….I find it super hilarious looking back on stories like that since I actually know him now bahahah

wow triple dipping! Bad with chip 'n' dip but great for space mountain!

Glad everyone was ok but sounds like a scary moment with Woody!

Those are some great pics of Peter and Wendy ... especially your first one where they look like they are flashing gang signs or something :rotfl:

Ahahaha, yeah, tripple fast passes were great for the day!
