A character finder utility

B.E.N. - Retired, again promo, but seeing that Treasure Planet was a flop and is barly known to the mass public don't ever expect to see him.

Gaston - I think he's like Herc, he only shows up if the right male body shows up at a casting call.

Jim Hawkings - Look at B.E.N.

Mowgli - Last I heard he was a promo character with the elephant from the Jungle Book.

Rhino - Saw Him in January 2009 with Bolt.

Silvermist - Saw her in December.

Sora - Retired. He was a promo, so don't expect to see him back until Kingdom Hearts 3 (which has yet to be announced).

Zowie & Rolie Polie Olie - Replaced with the new Disney Channel characters like Jojo.

I can't believe how quickly your site kicked into gear! I can say the Mittens is cut for scheduled meet n' greets so she can move into rare (in case she pops out).

Ron and Kim were in the cut from September along with the following meet n greet characters: Wendy, Bert, Darby, and Geppetto. Wendy, Bert and Geppetto are still in parades, the three may also show up for a surprise meet n greet (hit or miss), Wendy as the most likely to pop up - but I would say that Darby is rare. I would move Ron and Kim into rare as well for the time being!

I noticed a couple things on the site - Goliath the lion in listed on the Goliath page. Drizella is the main picture on the Lady Tremaine page.

Great work!!

The response has been AMAZING. 505 character sightings reports as of this posting... almost 400 pictures!

I see the Goliath boo boo, will fix it right away.

I also see the Drizella one. This appears to be an instance of where the user saw both stepsisters (plus Lady Tremaine) at the same time, so correctly selected all three characters (so that they all got the sighting data without the user having to post three times). Unfortunately, the system "understood" that the attached picture should also go on the other entries.

Most of the time, this is correct behavior - if you post a sighting of Tigger and Pooh, and you upoad a photo, it probably has both characters in it, and would thus be fine to display on both pages. That didn't happen this time. Not sure if I should even bother to change the form; I'm afraid I may cause more confusion by complicating the form. for now, I'll just fix these when they happen.

Thanks for the insider info as to character changes, Berlioz. I'm sending you a PM.

Thanks again, everyone!

C'mon, SOMEBOY has seen this little guy, haven't they? Please, share your info (and hopefully, a pic) with us!

I've been asked if I have any plans to add Star Wars Weekend characters to the utility. What is the general opinion of this? Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers are available year round, which is why they are already on the list.

However, if people would like me to add the others as event characters, I'd be happy to do so.

I found a picture of Rhino online, if you want me to add it.

Hehe, I thought about doing that, too... but I haven't seen him myself. I'd rather hold out until we get a "real" sighting.

I need a place on the main page recognizing the biggest contributors. :thumbsup2

You guys rock.

So, do you want all of the Santas from around the WS to be added under the generic Santa or what?

Oh, what a guy! Gaaaaaassssstoooonnnnnnnnn!

Hehe... love the Rhino pic. Little fella looks slightly demented. ;)

Hmmm... WS Santas don't really fit "Generic" Santa. How does "Santas of the World Showcase" strike you? We can then place appropriate pics there.

That's cool, but in many countries, it's a storyteller or group of storytellers that speak. What do we do with those folks?

Hadn't thought about that. And really, Santa doesn't fit right, anyway, since he goes by other names (and sometimes VERY different personas).

World Showcase Holiday Characters - is that too generic?

I added Tinker Bell, Iridessa, and Rosetta from when I saw them last week. I have more to add from a total of six trips, but I'll have to find all my older memory cards before I can add them.

Saw the fairy additions - thanks!

I have added the WS Holiday Characters to the list.
