~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

Glad to hear you had a nice Christmas. We had a wonderful Christmas here - its always nice when all of my kids are home at the same time. We spent the weekend in the Pittsburgh area visiting with Charlie's family. His mom is going to be 94 on Jan 1.

Not much else going on. We got our magic bands for our trip in January, so it seems more real to me. I am starting to get excited. Charlie wants to go down to the airport the night before and stay in a hotel, but I have a meeting first. Also, need to make a reservation.

I've given up on my trip report since no one was reading it - LOL

Its nice to see Josh is finishing up the work in the kitchen. We have so many partially finished projects:confused3, but we are talking about new wood flooring in the spring. We will have to hire a contractor since Charlie will not have time (or the skill) to do it himself.

Hope your first day of Whole30 went well. I really wouldn't have a problem giving up coffee since I wouldn't drink it black. I do like plain tea - with no sugar or creamer though, so I'd just switch to that.

Finally got myself back over here, and while I didn't go back and catch up completely, I read a few pages back. Loved the pictures from your holidays. Wonderful book you got for Christmas! Hope you are feeling better soon!

It's hard to get myself back to these boards with no trip on the horizon...at least not for sure. We are discussing a July trip, this would be our very FIRST July 4th in WDW ever, but we haven't quite confirmed it yet. There is also talk about a Disney cruise...so we can't narrow down what we want to do quite yet. I feel pretty confident we will most likely end up doing WDW in July as was our original plan and the cruise...not sure yet. :confused3

I just read up on the Whole30 thing and I'm really thinking that's something that DH and I should try to do ourselves. Thanks for the info!

It sounds like you had a great Christmas. Your kids are really sweet. I am glad you are on the mend.

I love the picture of you on Josh's shoulders. Even if his back did hurt, I doubt he would have owned up to that one.

Day 1 of Whole 30 - breakfast is complete. It was ok. I am going to try to go by our meat market on way home. It is just on the complete other end of town.

Marissa got off to California just fine. She is a little disappointed that they will only have 6 hours of free time in Disneyland on one of the busiest times of year, but I reminded her that there are others that don't get to spend any time in Disneyland and she has been twice already, so she shouldn't have that need to do everything. So, she will try to see Aladdin the Musical, but they may be out of the FP slip things they hand out in the morning. She wants to do ToT and California Screamin'. I hope she has a good time.

Have a great day today.

Thanks! Hahaha... Yah - I told him that he better not tell me his back hurt after that stunt. :rotfl:

Did you get to stop by the meat market?

Glad that Marissa got off to DL just fine - I hope she has a great time, even though she doesn't have much time to enjoy the park - I hope that experiencing it with friends makes up for that. :thumbsup2

I hope you have a great day too!

I'm glad to hear that Josh got a lot accomplished this weekend. It's nice with everything that is done.

Today we bought our flight tickets from Oakland to Seattle and back home from New York to Tromsø. We haven't bought our tickets from Tromsø to Oakland yet. We will do that the next few days. I don't think the prices will go down further on the date we want to fly. Suddenly our trip became very real.

Yes, we are getting there... It seems to be a much longer process than I thought, but I am happy to be seeing progress.

:woohoo: I am very excited about this!!!! I am so excited to finally meet you!!! Keep me updated on your planning. :thumbsup2

So glad to hear you had a wonderful Christmas Tess!!!

And yay for your MBs coming!!! I wish I could take a trip to WDW right now... Sigh.

Sorry, I've fallen behind on everyone's TRs lately - even my own... I haven't done an update here in a few weeks... Hoping to remedy that this morning. :thumbsup2

Oooh - wood floors are so nice, I wish we could do them in our house - but our house is so old and there are so many hills and valleys in our floors, the wood would just crack anyways... So, we went with a wood imposter.

My first day on the whole30 went really well... I've heard that day 2 and 3 are really bad... On the website - these two days are labeled "kill all things"... I am hoping to avoid that, since I was trying to prepare my body a little in advance of this... Hopefully I won't get "carb flu" too badly...

Finally got myself back over here, and while I didn't go back and catch up completely, I read a few pages back. Loved the pictures from your holidays. Wonderful book you got for Christmas! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Welcome back!!! A July trip sounds like fun!!! Any trip sounds like fun right now. LOL

Thanks - I am feeling better... I had a killer headache last night and through the night, even though I took Tylenol - I should have taken ibprofen - oh well. It seems to be gone for the moment, hopefully it stays that way.

Let me know if you decide to do it... I've heard such amazing things about it. For as many changes as my body has gone through these last few years - I am excited to see if anything happens during the Whole30.

**********************************************************

We had a craptastic morning yesterday... Just what I needed... Josh called from the side of the road at 6:45am, he blew a tire bad and was waiting for a tow truck... Sigh. Finally - when I was pulling in to work at 9:15am, he was being towed... Poor guy sat on the side of the road for 2 hours. :confused3 Yah - I guess his tires were so bad, the tire place wouldn't let him leave with out new tires... Which I think is BS, but whatever... $600 later, he was back on the road. Merry Christmas.

I was almost pulled over on my way into work... I was doing 40mph in a 30mph area... My bad - I had just turned and accellerated off of another road, and didn't realize I had accellerated that quickly. Thankfully, I didn't get pulled over - but man - that was close, and it totally would have been the icing on my cake yesterday. Phew!

Thankfully - Target went well... This is a busy time of year for us... Not with guests, but putting the store back to rights after the holiday. So, much of my book area reset and moved yesterday. The rest should go in the coming weeks.

I stopped after work for a few groceries to get me through the first few days of the Whole30, until I can get to Sam's Club this weekend and really stock up.

Came home... Made leftovers for dinner...

Here's a look at my meals from yesterday - I probably won't share them here every day - but in case you are interested...

1525608_10205918509310642_5656116675734387196_n.jpg

We all went to bed early - we were exausted from our mentally draining day.

Today... Well...

I am choking down my coffee, black.

I plan to do an update (or 2) sometime this morning...

It's also a heavy lifting day for me.

Then I plan to do some meal prep for the remainder of the week, I am just so excited to finally be doing this. I know there were a few days last week where I was Whole30 compliant several days in a row (minus my morning coffee) - and I really felt marvelous, so I can't wait to see how I feel again.

I need to get up to my sewing room and clean it... It's a total disaster! I am not sure if I will do that today or tomorrow? But I need to do it this week while I am off up there.

That's about all! I hope you have a great day, and check back later for updates. :wizard:

D~

Sounds like you had a a tough day yesterday.

I hope today goes better.

It would be great if you could meet us on the 2nd (or 1st) of September 2015. We will be in Bloomington then.

When I left you all... It was HOT, very - very HOT!

We were looking for a place to cool off, and decided to head to the Nemo show. None of us had ever seen it before.

We all got in line... We'd lost BFF in a smoking area along the way - so we were trying fervently to find her with our bad cell reception in the parks. It wasn't going well, and we were moving in the building. Finally - she caught up with us just as we were going in the doors.

By the time we got in there... V was cranky from standing in the heat for so long, so she was in one of her "moods"...

20140823_115305_1.jpg

The rest of us were fine though and ready to enjoy the air conditioning...

The theatre was so dark and cool - I think some of us might have fallen asleep during the show?

After it was over, V was doing a bit better...

Allison and Olivia were ready to leave the park for the day. V still wanted to see the baby gorilla that was just born. So, we told A & O that they could leave the park and go back to the resort to swim - provided they stopped for every single photopass photographer on their way out...

wd017wdw2014235112400883_7048254899_18.jpeg

They are such good girls - doing exactly what their mothers asked.

Meanwhile... We were off in search of this ellusive baby gorilla... As it turns out - no one knew exactly where it was... So, lots and lots of walking in this awful heat... We did find a Photopass photographer though, as we were walking around...

wd028wdw2014235112391648_7043480694_18.jpeg

Finally - we found where the baby gorilla was, and it turns out he/she was put away for the day already - I guess it's only out in the mornings?

We decided that we were done with AK - we didn't even set foot in Dinoland or have our jalepeno stuffed pretzel, but we were hot and ready for a swim... So we shopped our way out of the park, stopping for PP photographers on the way...

The air on the bus was heavenly... We decided we wanted to hit the pool at FQ when we returned...

Once we got back to FQ - we all went for a swim, except for Allison.

We have a crap-ton of pictures on Robyn's water camera, but she has YET to get them off... So, pretend there are lots of wonderful under water photos inserted here --------->

We swam for a good hour, me thinks... Even doing several rides on the water slide... Something I've never done, or felt comfortable doing. It was awesome!

We went back to our room to shower the pool off of us... BFF and I decided we wanted to get ready and head to POR for dinner... She had never been to POR - and I've only spent limited time there, and they have a nice food court...

We opened the door to leave, and this is the sight we saw...

10602814_10204451701158299_2027434445_n.jpg

Pouring. Rain. Grrr....

So, we made our way to the bus stop... Staying under the walkways, as to not get wet... This was actually kind of fun. ::yes:: We did really well.

We ate at POR first...

D~ = build your own salad.
Bff = build your own pasta.

After that, we wandered around the resort a little bit, did some shopping... I don't remember buying anything, but I am sure BFF did.

Then, BFF wanted to smoke, so I grabbed a seat on a wall behind the main building to people watch and hang out on my phone.

While I was sitting there, this adorable little Donald fan came up to me to ask me where I got my bag from... He was just the sweetest boy ever! He was in WDW with his mom for his birthday. I must have sat there and talked to him and his mom for a good 15 minutes or more, and I am so upset with myself - I didn't write down his name. But it was one of the most memorable moments of our trip, for me anyways.

As BFF was walking back to me - she took a few pictures... Goof ball... You can see me waaay off in the distance - under the tree...

We walked back to our room, and all of us went to bed early...

Yet again - we had a full day planned the next day. :crazy2:

This all makes me giggle...
V being "moody" the girls and their photo shoot! you kissing V! Just love it all!!!

Glad you had a great Christmas!

I may as well say it now since i missed Christmas posting:

Sounds like you had a good day in AK despite the heat. Too bad you didn't get to see the baby gorilla.

Loved the updates. I probably would be moody in that heat too. We have yet to see the Nemo show. We did see Lion King this time.

Such a drag about the tires. Not a good way to start the day.

Today is Disneyland day for Marissa. No park hopper, so no running to California Adventure, but this is actually a good thing. It narrowed her choices of things to do. Now she can focus on Disneyland and Mickey beignets and shopping.

I did make it to the meat market. Grass fed is more money, but I think I did pretty good. I also stopped at Cappella's Market for overpriced veggies and my free range, Omega-3 eggs. I am always scared to go in there for fear I will be zapped into a hippie.

The headache today is unbelievable though. I know they said to expect it on days 2-3, but I figured that was due to no caffeine and I have been without caffeine for 2 weeks, so that should be over and done with. It must be withdrawals from sugar? Looking forward to the kill everything stage.

Since I have a bit of time today, I thought I would overwhelm you all with another update. ::yes::

Sunday, August 24th... Blizzard Beach and Downtown Disney

We all slept in today... It was glorious and lovely. The term "slept in" is relative... 7:15am... But those of you who know me - at 7:15am, normally my day is half done.

I got up, had my morning coffee.

The girls got up and got ready for Blizzard Beach.

We all went down for breakfast at 8:30am... Our beloved Santos was working...

D~ got a locker, BFF went and smoked... Then the bathroom... then the locker again... :faint:

Finally, finally on to the Ski Lift. I did not notate the time - but again, I was a bit annoyed.

When we separated, we told the girls to wait for us at the top of the ski lift, since none of us had our phones on us... Well, they weren't there... Sigh.

BFF and I rode Teamboat Springs 3x. (Forgive the not-so-flattering swim suit pics in this post... we are at a water park, after all.)

wd005wdw2014236112686116_7048268866_18.jpeg

wd009wdw2014236112686116_7048271853_18.jpeg

Finally, the 3rd ski lift ride up, Alli was up there - still no V or O. :confused3 We squinted into the sun forever, trying to see them on the steps for SP, but we couldn't. So, we waited, waited, waited some more... Decided to ride Teamboat Springs together...

wd035wdw2014236112698237_7043454775_18.jpeg

We went up the ski lift again, just to see if the girls were up there, and they were not... So, we decided to ride the lazy river. We weren't too worried, we knew they were together, and they knew where we were sitting, so if they needed to find us... Well, we wouldn't be there. :rotfl2:

We went twice around the lazy river... These photopass pics crack me up... BFF is a nut sometimes...

wd015wdw2014236112723515_7043459781_18.jpeg

Did we ever reunite with the girls? This seems to be an ongoing issue for us at the water parks this year...

Link to Day 5 Part 2

D~ <--- Who was very impressed by the abundance of PP photographers at BB this day. ::yes::

That's awful about Josh's tires . My dil Melissa needs new tires on her car, so she got some gift cards for Christmas to help pay for them, and wouldn't you know, her battery died, so she needed to use some of her tire money for a new battery.

When we were there in Sept, the baby gorilla was not out at all. We were told it would still be a week or two before they brought him out. :confused3

I've been playing around with doing some quilting on my embroidery machine, but the area is so small that I can't do the designs I really want to do on it, so Charlie bought me a new Singer machine with a larger embroidery hoop area  Can't wait for it to get here!

I think I'm going to start the South Beach diet again :rolleyes2. The first two weeks are totally carb and dairy free, so I guess I'm going to have to give up my morning coffee for a couple of weeks. Also, we are going to get a new treadmill today. The one we have is at least 20 years old and it will change speeds all by itself! C says it speeds up on him, but when I use it, it always slows down.:duck: I'm also going to pick up some heavier barbells, since I need to up my workout.

I have to say that seeing the pictures from your trip and looking at more recent pictures, I can definitely see a difference!

Kids? What kids? We didn't bring any with us... :confused3

Hahaha...

No...

Not really...

They are just old enough to be missing and not have us worry too much about it.

So we went around the lazy river twice...

Just as we were getting off at our exit, V was standing there and she was PISSED. :confused3

I guess her and O waited, and waited, and waited for us at the top of the ski lift... Clearly we were all waiting at opposite times... Bad momma moment.

We all decided to ride Teamboat Springs together...

wd036wdw2014236112749593_7043486555_18.jpeg

wd024wdw2014236112749555_7045326920_18.jpeg

Then we were hungry... We ate at Lottawatta Lodge... I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad... I didn't write down whether I liked it or not... I would think, if I didn't like it - I would have notated it.

10620936_10204460040126768_955224536_n.jpg

We decided that we were done with Blizzard Beach... So we stopped for a few photos and we were outta the park at 1pm.

Waiting for the bus back to the resort...

10637971_10204460039446751_1436481131_n.jpg

When we got back to FQ, we showered and changed.

We decided to take the boat to DTD... We were all excited to go here tonight!!! I had an items or two on my shopping list that could only be obtained at DTD... :scratchin

Sad to report, as the boat pulled up, they told us they heard thunder... :confused3 So, no boat ride tonight to DTD. Sad.

Off to the bus we went...

Link to Day 5 Part 3

D~

So... In search of a DTD bus we went...

20140824_151913.jpg

I wrote down that the bus was a "non-issue" - dropped us right at the Marketplace...

You can see the girls and I walking ahead.

10631927_10204460806905937_1633470460_o.jpg

Diser Tasha and her family were on this bus with us... I was so sad - little did I know - I would not see her again this trip, and we never got to say our goodbyes.

We shopped at the Co-Op... Gosh, I was sooooo looking forward to this... The items I wanted were only sold here, and I was praying they had what I needed... I am a bit picky when it comes to this sort of thing. :scratchin And I didn't want to settle.

20140824_185035_1.jpg

(DH thinks is sacreligious that I don't carry my own bags IRL, but I don't... I just don't like all the questions I get when I bring them out, so I don't carry them - it's easier.)

10578999_10204461305198394_1350729510_n.jpg

At World Of Disney, I purchased 2 things... My 2014 Sorcerer Mickey Alex & Ani Bracelet - which was a gift from my good friend Monica, who I had just met two days previously at DHS, I had planned to get this bracelet that day, but I forgot before I left the park... So, I grabbed it at DTD. :lovestruc Also, I purchased my trip coffee mug for this trip. Sorry, no photo of the mug right now.

20140824_184834_1.jpg

(I also carried my awesome wristlet I received as a gift from Tess... You'll see more of it in the upcoming pictures...)

Then we headed to the pin store, where I purchased my trip 2014 spinner pin. I have a spinner pin for every year we have been in Disney.

Ahhh... Then it was off to my favorite store in DTD... Ghirardelli's... Thanks to Kathy's TR a few years ago... Mmmm... Victoria and I split a Salted Caramel Hot Fudge Sundae... OMG>>> YUM!!!

On our way back to the resort...

Victoria and I cleaned and organized our room...

Funniest photo of the trip... When we turned around, we found Allison, sound asleep in the bed, with her sunglasses on and her camera next to her... LOL - even though she is a teenager - she is still my baby girl... Reminiscent to a photo I took of her 10 years previous on a Disney trip... (She would totally kill me if she knew these were here...)

No one wanted dinner, we were all too full yet from Ghirardelli's.

We just hung out and relaxed while Allison slept... Just cleaning and prepping, we still had 2 days left of our trip, but they were 2 FULL park days, so we wanted to get a jump start.

We were all in bed by 9:30pm.

Sounds like you had fun at the water park even if you had trouble meeting with the girls at the top of the ski lift.

Too bad you couldn't get the boat to DTD.

Holy Crap that is a lot of updates!!!

look at you go!!! I love it all. even V being angry is funny!!!

I totally forgot to tell you Santa brought Meg an Alex and Ani Little mermaid and she LOVES it!

Ok Ok i have to get out of here.. I want to post more about this.. As it is my favorite SO FAR of your updates!

Man, you're an updating queen today! I love all the waterpark pictures. We are so going to have to try one of the waterparks when the girls are older. Going around the lazy river all day sounds wonderful!

I love all the pics from DTD. We haven't spent a lot of time there on our last trips-- I miss it. Lovin those Alex & Ani bracelets-so cute!

Almost forgot--the pictures of alli sleeping, past and present, are great!

Wow you've been busy updating today. Blizzard looks like fun ,although I'dd probably only go on the lazy river Sorry about the miscommuncation with V. She kind of reminds me of my daughter with her moods.
I have the same Vera bag. I bought it on my last trip. It's not used a lot because I like to switch bags.
I'm glad work went fast yesterday. We reset new release movies and that took most of the day.
Today We stopped at Target for a few things after going to the bank it was still quite busy.
Have a good day.

Sounds like you had a a tough day yesterday.

I hope today goes better.

It would be great if you could meet us on the 2nd (or 1st) of September 2015. We will be in Bloomington then.

Yes, yesterday was MUCH better. PHew! I don't think I could take 2 days in a row like that. LOL

Yes, I have it in my calendar, I am very much looking forward to it!!!

This all makes me giggle...
V being "moody" the girls and their photo shoot! you kissing V! Just love it all!!!

Glad you had a great Christmas!

I may as well say it now since i missed Christmas posting:

Hehehe... V's moods are pretty predictable... and we are pretty good at not letting them bother us too much and just going on as normal - most of the time - we exaggerate our happiness. :dance3: But we love her!

We had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year to you too Mo!!! Love you!

Sounds like you had a good day in AK despite the heat. Too bad you didn't get to see the baby gorilla.

We did - it was a nice day. We would have stayed longer, but it was just too hot, and bff was crashing fast... The heat combined with the "run" I made her do earlier in the morning was not sitting well with her stamina.

V was really bummed about the baby gorilla, I wish I would have known that it was only out in the mornings, we could have tried to go there before the Nemo show.

Now that I have seen both shows, I much prefer FOLK vs. Nemo... Nemo is a basic recreation of the movie - and even though it's fun to see how the puppeteers kind of disappear into the set, I love how FOLK is done - and I love seeing it over and over again... The music, the costumes... Just love it all!

Yah - the tire fiasco was not fun at all, especially for Josh.

I sure hope Marissa enjoyed her Disney Land day!

Hehehe... I wish I could afford the organic eggs all of the time, I buy them when I can. We don't do grass fed meat at all - I should - maybe we can afford it once the girls go off to college (hahahaha)... But we do buy our meat from a local farmer - so that consoles me somewhat... At least it's not from the grocery store where the meat comes from who knows where?

I had a killer headache on the night of Day 1 into Day 2... It was awful. I don't think the headache comes from lack of caffeine... It has to come from something else, because both of us had it - you gave up caffeine weeks ago, and I am still drinking the same amount I did previously (minus the creamer) - so it must be something else that causes it? I sure hope yours is better by now, mine is completely gone on it's own.

That's awful about Josh's tires.

I've been playing around with doing some quilting on my embroidery machine, but the area is so small that I can't do the designs I really want to do on it, so Charlie bought me a new Singer machine with a larger embroidery hoop area Can't wait for it to get here!

I think I'm going to start the South Beach diet again. The first two weeks are totally carb and dairy free, so I guess I'm going to have to give up my morning coffee for a couple of weeks. Also, we are going to get a new treadmill today. The one we have is at least 20 years old and it will change speeds all by itself! C says it speeds up on him, but when I use it, it always slows down. I'm also going to pick up some heavier barbells, since I need to up my workout.

I have to say that seeing the pictures from your trip and looking at more recent pictures, I can definitely see a difference!

Figures... I know - I need new tires... And it's just my luck that Josh gets them before I do. Oh well... Still saving for them - they are soooo expensive, but I had to get that darn brake calliper fixed first - so that meant starting over with tire savings. Sigh. Such is life - there's always something.

Hmmm... I wonder why the baby gorrilla was out for us then? Not sure?

Congratulations!!! What kind of Singer did you get? That was a very awesome gift from Charlie!

I have never done the Southbeach Diet - I know nothing about it. Is it healthy for you? And is it sustainable for a life time?

Congrats on the new treadmill - I can see why you need a new one... Your old one sounds awfully dangerous to me!

Yes, pick up that weight and put it down again - it's a great way to build muscle... Don't be afraid to progressivily lift heavier - it's so good for you in many ways!

Thank you - I don't see much of a difference between August and now - which is really frustrating to me... but I just keep pressing on. :thumbsup2

Sounds like you had fun at the water park even if you had trouble meeting with the girls at the top of the ski lift.

Too bad you couldn't get the boat to DTD.

We did have a lot of fun! I do enjoy the water parks so much - I just wish we would have had the time to use them more.

Yes - I enjoy taking the boat to DTD so much!!! But at least we got to go. :thumbsup2

OMG i am laughing so hard at this picture.. Not you but of the two people behind you!

Like what is this crazy chick DOING?!?!

OMG i can't stop laughing...

Hahaha... I get that A LOT! LOL

Holy Crap that is a lot of updates!!!

Yes, I updated a lot yesterday... I might do more today... Not that I want to wrap this up, but I feel like I've really been slacking lately and I want to make up for it.

Awww... I bet she does! My girls love their Alex and Ani bracelets! I wear mine all the time too... I asked for more for Christmas, but no one got any for me. :confused3 Oh well... I got my HUGE Perfect Petals duffel - which I am extremely excited about! It will get lots of use!

Man, you're an updating queen today! I love all the waterpark pictures. We are so going to have to try one of the waterparks when the girls are older. Going around the lazy river all day sounds wonderful!

Thanks! I was way overdue for some updates, for sure!

The lazy river is awesome! I just love the huge family raft rides and the lazy rivers at both parks - although the family raft ride at BB is much better (and longer and smoother) than the one at TL. We enjoy the water parks immensely, and would never be able to do a summer trip to WDW with out going there.

Thanks! We love going to DTD, definitely not a whole day thing though - unless you take a break in the middle to go back to the resort and swim. Maybe when they are done with all the renovations - it might be an all day thing?

Hehehe... I thought they were hilarious. I don't think she even knows they exist. :scratchin

Wow you've been busy updating today. Blizzard looks like fun ,although I'dd probably only go on the lazy river Sorry about the miscommuncation with V. She kind of reminds me of my daughter with her moods.

Yes - it was a great day for updates! I was excited to get so many of them knocked out!

We love the lazy river, but I can usually only go twice around at a time - by then I am all shriveled up and starting to take on water. LOL

Hehehe... Yes, she has her moods - but they are part of her character, and pretty predictable. We just go about our day and let her work through it, she comes around eventually.

Just happy to have the holidays over - even though they are my favorite time of year to work at Target.

I hope you have a great day, as well.

Looks like you had a great time in DTD

We did, it was a lot of fun! We love shopping!

**********************************************************

Yesterday was a nice day for me...

I did my heavy lifting right away and got it done for the day.

Then I cleaned a little bit... I always take about 20 minutes every morning to clean my kitchen... I do any spare dishes left over from the night before, clean my counters/stove/table and sweep my floors. It takes such little time, and then I don't have to worry about it later in the day when I am trying to rush to make dinner. It's kind of nice.

Then I did all of my updates here... It took me a few hours, but it was a relief to have it done. I might do more today? I am not sure?

Gus came over after work yesterday... He hung out with Alli for a few hours then he took her to work on his way home. That was so nice!

I made the Chocolate Chili from Well Fed for dinner last night. I thought it was good, V and Josh couldn't wrap their minds around the fact that there were no beans in it... Seriously - V picks them all out anyways - she should have loved it? And Josh didn't like the spices in it... He said there was "something" in it that didn't agree with him... Ahhh - well - there was nothing strange in it, so I showed him the recipe after dinner and he said it was the Allspice... :confused3 There was 1tsp in that whole pot... Whatever. I thought it was really good - a little too salty for me, so the next time I make it - I will half the recipe and not share with the family and I will use less salt. :thumbsup2

Otherwise, I had a great Day 2 on the Whole30... I am still in the honeymoon phase though... It's bound to get worse before it gets better.

Here's all of my meals from yesterday... In retrospect, I think my lunch was a bit larger than it should have been - however - I had NO desire to snack between lunch and dinner like I usually do... So maybe it was a success afterall? I am also tolerating the avocado/guac... Normally I have horrid stomach pain when I eat it - maybe it's from not having a gallbladder any longer? Anyways, I made the guac homemade the other night from 1 avocado, and I split it into 3 meals, and my stomach was OK. Avocado is an excellent form of fat to eat, which helps keep you satisfied longer, so it's really something I want in my diet. :thumbsup2

On to Day 3 today... And big thanks to Suzi for giving me the idea of cinnamon in my black coffee... Since I can't have sugar or my creamer in my coffee during the Whole 30, I either have to drink it black or give it up... Suzi suggested cinnamon - and boy, it definitely isn't sugar/creamer, but it certainly helps A LOT! So, :woohoo: my coffee is tolerable. Life is good.

So, today is New Year's Eve... No plans. Just another day. We are not really big into NYE, we never have been. Try as I might - I cannot stay awake that long - even if I take a nap during the day.

Gus is coming over later though to hang out with Allison... Tomorrow is their "4 month anniversary"... I told her that she better have something awesome planned for him this month, because he has done something super sweet for her every month and she has done nothing for him. So, we'll see how that goes...

Yesterday was Olivia's Sweet 16 birthday... So the girls and I are meeting up with BFF tomorrow and going out to lunch with them to celebrate. I miss that girl! We bonded so well in WDW... I'd love a do-over of this trip, just to spend more time with the 3 girls. :flower3: I am so very lucky to have the relationship I have with them, truly I am. I love them all to death!

OK - I better get moving on my day...

I have a work out to do... Kitchen cleaning to do... Maybe and update or two to do... We'll see.

Happy New Years Eve to all of you!!! If you are going out tonight - be sure to be SAFE!!!! :grouphug: Have a sober cab... Party at home... Whatever... We all love you!

D~
