~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

Wow V has fantastic mad drawing skills !! Hope your package shows up. Frank mailed a letter that took 3 weeks to get there, crazy. Yes things should slow down now that we are unpacked and settled in. Love the warm weather here. Not to brag but it was 60 something yesterday! :thumbsup2

Hi D~!
We just got back from a trip to Disneyland! It was a lot of fun. The Disney blues are setting in though... :sad1: But now I'm getting caught up on your TR and daily updates! :goodvibes Sounds like you all have been super busy!

How sweet of Josh to take you out to such a nice hotel! It looked so beautiful in the pictures!!

I hope your fabric shows up. I bet USPS is running behind right now due to the holidays.

That stinks about V getting in trouble on the bus... She looks too innocent to get in trouble!! LOL :cutie:

Where did you find such a great deal on jeans? I've been on the hunt for new jeans. American Eagle has been making their jeans so differently recently, so I'm trying to find a different brand.

Hope you have a great weekend!!

I'm sorry to hear about V's problems. Sometimes a kid gets blamed for stuff that is not entirely her fault. I used to work in a school library and saw it all the time.
Work is still rough. they sent a couple of managers over to our department to help. that makes it interesting. We're a small store so not a lot people work here to start out with. The customers have been understanding for the most part and thing it's kind of funny when management have to ask us what to do. Some of the customers think that the managers know everything about the store.
I hope your fabric arrives on Monday. that is so frustrating.
Enjoy your weekend.
Liz

Yes, I agree. It will be fine, it's just a little annoying and frustrating.

Hopefully things get better at your store soon - only a few days left until Christmas.

Thanks... It doesn't look like it's going to... :( The last time it was scanned was Saturday morning. This is so frustrating.

I hope you had a nice weekend too.

Finished Day 2!

Typhoon Lagoon looks like a lot of fun. Sorry you had to wait an entire hour to get on your first slide. That IS annoying. cute bathing suit and cute pics of the girls!

How lovely that you got to see Santos's baby girl. How sweet!

UGH to the transportation nightmare. I really don't like making ADRs at resorts unless I have a car. It's just SO annoying. You guys were really good sports about it and it looks like you had a great time. Your dress and necklace are really cute!

We did have a lot of fun at TL... Wish I was there now. LOL Thanks - I just love Lands End swimwear... It's super comfy and (IMO) very flattering.

I know - it was super cool that he brought her so I could meet her. She is just precious - and she has grown so much since then!

Yah - that was a mess, it really makes me want to rething resort dining in the future. But we did have fun. Thanks! I put a lot of time into planning my outfits/accessories. :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry to hear about V's problems. Sadly kids get the blame for things that is not only their fault. Adults can't have eyes and ears everywhere all the time and other kids try not to get the blame for what they was a part off by blaming someone else.

Here the plan is to bake american cookies (chocolate chip) this weekend. We only call the cookies (in English. We haven't got a Norwegian word for them) The reason we call them cookies in my family is because we got the recipe back when we lived in the USA for a year. And we have backed them only for Christmas every year since.

Yes, it's very frustrating. But we just have to deal with it.

I hope you had fun baking cookies! And I hope they were delicious!

Sorry to hear about V, thankfully we have cameras on our buses so if something happens they are available for us to view! That is a long time to suspend her from the bus though!

Hope you have a great weekend and your fabric comes in early on Monday! Maybe you could ship it to the buyer's resort to save time!

We have cameras too, but I don't think they are constant? I am not sure? I agree - it is a very long time - a little over the top if you ask me. I think they are just trying to prove a point with V, and it doesn't sit well with me at all.

Thanks! I am a little nervous that it won't be here today either, the last time it was scanned was Saturday morning - according to USPS, it hasn't arrived at my local PO yet - and it's been less than 20 miles away for 3 days. :(

Thanks Trish - I think so too.

I sure hope it does, otherwise I will have to use my back up fabric - which won't make me happy.

Glad to hear you are settled... Mmmm... I could use some 60° weather right now - although it's been a pretty mild winter here (so far) temperature wise. We haven't gotten to the worst of it yet though.

Bummer about the Disney blues... They are such a hard funk to get out of sometimes.

I hope so too - but it's not looking too promising.

Hahaha... Well, as every mother knows - not all children are innocent.

I purchased them at Gordman's... I think they might be a local store? Not sure - I haven't seen many of them around. I highly recommend Silvers though - super comfy. I've resisted the urge to buy new ones since I've been losing - but that deal was hard to pass up.

Thanks, I did, I hope you had a great one too!

We had an amazing and crazy weekend!

First I took Alli to work on Saturday morning...

Picked V up from her friend's house...

Dropped MM off at BFF's house for his first sleepover. I was a little nervous about this, so was she, but MM is a good boy.

Then V and I came back home and I worked on some last minute Santa gifts for the girls... Me n' my brainy ideas. LOL It only took me 4 hours to do a simple project.

After I finished, I packed and got ready...

We picked Alli up at work at exactly 4:30 and drove straight out to my foster-parent's house. We arrived at 7pm, they were holding dinner for us... Lasagna, made with Italian cheese... It was delicious. Yes, I ate it - even the noodles.

The girls with their cousins...

20141220_195726.jpg

All of us...

20141220_194346.jpg

Jesse and I...

20141220_194316.jpg

Then we had a few drinks... Played a game of Yatzee... Almost everyone went to bed, except for the girls and I, my foster sister and cousins. That's when the fun began... Of course - I had to show off my muscles... So did Jesse... ::yes::

20141220_225929.jpg

Which made me think of this...

10371915_10205844900190460_4166576917727477760_n.jpg

Of course, Jesse is cute when she does her's.

20141220_225822.jpg

Then it was time for hand stands... Jesse didn't do too well at this - even though I was trying to help...

20141220_232616.jpg

20141220_232626.jpg

20141220_232630.jpg

Of course - I can do them, but we already knew that.

20141220_232750.jpg

We had a fun night... Yes, there were a few drinks involved, but I've been much worse off.

Meanwhile... MM was having fun too - BFF spoiled him rotten.

10455172_10205332150688987_888927884046301803_n.jpg

We stayed up chatting while sitting on the kitchen counters for a lot of the night, then we went to bed around 2.

Yesterday, Grandpa made breakfast... It was delicious.

We all got ready, and drove out to my Mom's family Christmas party.

That was a lot of fun - but no pictures.

We had to be on the road by 2:30 because Alli had to work at 5. We were all exhausted.

Allison made it to work just on time.

We brought all of our stuff home, unloaded the truck, then we went back up to BFF's house to get MM.

It was a great weekend - and it was great to see family! :lovestruc

I work at Target today...

Josh is off of work for the week.

Hoping my fabric comes today... If not, I will have to work on Plan B. :crazy2:

I hope you all have a fabulous day! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you. :grouphug:

Sorry to hear about Vs bus shenanigans. Unfortunately even if someone isn't at fault they can still take the heat for it. Schools are getting ridiculous these days. My son is 8 and he forgot he had a tinnnnnnnny ninja turtle sword in his pocket from the weekend and he pulled it out at lunch to see what was in his pocket and he was almost suspended for 10 days. He's 8!!!! I could see if he was being violent with it but even the teachers said all he did was pull it out to see what it was. Its sad our communities have to be THIS strict on stuff like that. But I hope it gets better for her!

You're planking pics crack me up !! I'd break my neck of I tried to do that:rotfl2:

I'm still unpacking boxes from my mother's house. . .

Are you still looking for any feet?

Not sure what any of them are (other than the blind hemmer :rotfl2: ). If you want any of them I could mail them to Gus. He's my father's second cousin's barber twice removed with sugar on top.

Looks like you had a very fun weekend with family.

I hope your fabric arrives with the mail today.

Here the last presents have to be wrapped. We celebrate Christmas Eve (24th) and open our presents sometime after dinner that evening. On Christmas day we are all having dinner at my grandma's house. Reindeer steak is on the menu. It's delicious.

Looks like a great time with family this weekend.
Poor V and the bus. Always disliked the bus from when I was a kid. My daughter got into trouble on the bus. From that day on we drove her most days.
Hope your fabric arrived. We have been busy with holiday parties, baking and a few last minute wrapping.
Hope you had a great day at target!
Have a wonderful day!!

Yes, it's a bit frustrating, but at this point, we are just trying to take the punishment and learn from it. I do believe her punishment was extremely excessive, almost as if someone was trying to prove a point with her. :confused3

That is so sad! Poor kid... Sometimes things can get way out of hand for no reason... And yes - over a toy... Sad.

LOL - Thanks! I am not sure how I did it - it wasn't easy getting up there, getting down was easier. LOL

Hi.
your family pictures are great! glad you had a wonderful family christmas.

Thanks... Yes I did - I was lucky and had the best family - I couldn't have asked for better.

I'm still unpacking boxes from my mother's house. . .

Hahaha... Thanks for posting the pics Cheryl, I am pretty sure I have all of those feet. And it was very nice of you to offer to mail them to Gus. :wizard:

I hope you are doing well! It's so nice to see you here posting again! :lovestruc

I did have a wonderful weekend.

And :woohoo: my fabric did come yesterday!!! PHEW... Now I have to work like crazy to get these 2 bags done this morning.

I am still waiting on one box to be delivered... If it doesn't get here on time, it's OK - but it would be nice if it would.

Looks like a great time with family this weekend.

Yes, we had a wonderful time!

It's so frustrating, I have never heard of a kid getting more than a few days bus suspension - so when they told me it would be weeks - I about died. I really think her punishment was over the top, but there isn't much we can do about it now.

My fabric did arrive - :woohoo: Now I need to bust my behind this morning to finish up those last 2 bags, so I can officially be on Christmas break.

Thanks - I did. I hope you had a wonderful day too!

Was MM happy to see you after his sleepover??

Awww... He was!!! He missed us so much! But he was such a good boy for BFF, I wouldn't doubt if she asked to take him every now and then. :lovestruc

**********************************************************

Well, I worked at Target yesterday - and we were busy. But it was nice.

It was our holiday meal - from Chipotle... So I was able to eat at work - I ate a little too much and had to walk around uncomfortable for quite some time. But it was delicious!

Allison met me at work after school... Then we went to the grocery store to grab a few items for dinner... Then we picked up V from school and headed home.

When we got here, we saw that Josh was VERY busy yesterday while we were all gone... He has the week off of work, and he took the opportunity to finish up our kitchen project... Like, really finish it up.

When we put the siding, new windows and doors in our house in 2008, we purposely moved the front door over 6" so we could make our entry way closet a true closet deep enough to actually hang hangers in it... So, yesterday - he took out the closet and rebuilt it... :woohoo: This makes me SUPER happy! This closet was alwasy so full, and never held much of anything, so we always had coats and purses hanging on our chairs - drove me NUTS!

20141222_185203.jpg

20141222_190834.jpg

He also purchased the rest of our trim to finish off the kitchen floors, and a second door - we are replacing the one that goes to the basement. I am very excited about all of this. It wasn't a huge amount of $$, but it's making a huge difference.

Now, I need to figure out what color to paint this one kitchen wall... I am keeping the red on the other 3 walls - but this wall was a weird yellow color, and I am not sure I like it anymore... Thinking I might go with more of a cream or beige? :confused3

Anyways...

MY FABRIC CAME!!!! <----- Yes, I did yell that! :woohoo: It's about time!

Josh was kind enough to wash it and dry it for me while I was at work yesterday...

So, today will be a bit chaotic for me...

Josh (thankfully) is taking V to school for me this morning...

So, I will start lifting just as soon as this is posted.

Then, I will go straight upstairs to finish those 2 bags... I honestly don't have that much work to do with them, because I did absolutely everything I could do with out that lining fabric... I am honestly thinking I can be completely done with both bags in about an hour? I hope.

Then, I will shower and get ready for my day...

I have to get Monica's bag shipped from the auction in October.

I have to run the bags into town, so the person I made them for can have them in time for Christmas.

Then I have to run to BFF's house, to deliver last week's bag... We are meeting her friend who ordered it for lunch today...

We might do a bit of last minute shopping after - depending on how much time I have left before I have to pick up V.

Josh will be here working on the house! Still so excited about that!!!

Then, tomorrow is Christmas Eve... I love Christmas Eve! It's my favorite day - because that's the day that's always "just us"... And I love being just us, sometimes. :lovestruc We open our gifts after dinner, when it's dark out, and all of the Christmas lights are on... It's just such a special time.

If you don't stop back here before Christmas - please know that I wish each and everyone of you a safe and wonderful holiday... Please travel safely if you are going anywhere. :grouphug: and Merry Christmas... Love to you all!!!!

D~

How great that Josh is finishing the kitchen and fixing the closet and that the fabric finally arrived.

Tomorrow we start celebrating Christmas. Most families in Norway puts up the Christmas tree and decorates it tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to my parents house at 5pm to have Christmas dinner and open all our presents.

I wish you a Merry Christmas

I'm glad your fabric finally came and the bags can be finished.
Josh was really busy yesterday. Enjoy the new closet.
We were busy yesterday. Both of the people that were out last week are back. One of them still looks like death warmed over. She got strep from her son.
I don't understand why people wait until the very last minute to made their Christmas cards. It's not like they didn't know Christmas was coming. I work tomorrow but will be home in the evening for Christmas Eve.
Have a Merry Christmas .
Liz

:yay: SO happy the fabric finally arrived! It's awesome Josh washed & dried it for you; I know my husband wouldn't think to do that. Well, more of he'd be afraid he'd do it wrong & then I'd be even more stressed than I had been waiting on it.

I have a busy day sewing too! I still have 6-8 pillowcase dresses for the girl's AG dolls, plus sleeping bags, pillows & bedding for my youngest's AG crib that Santa is bringing. :scared:

Hope you guys have a great Christmas Eve & a very Merry Christmas!:santa:

Hey D~

Loving all the updates to your casa!! Glad you are finally getting to do your original plans, how exciting for you!

Wanted to stop by in case I don't make it before Thursday to wish you a Merry Christmas!!

Congrats on getting the fabric! It threw me a bit you talking about taking kids to school. My kids are off this week and next for Winter Break.

I have most of my Christmas shopping done and wrapped. I don't have any stocking stuffers, so probably headed to Target after work tonight, although, I am not supposed to be shopping by myself since a woman was kidnapped from the Walmart near our house. She is fine and just taken somewhere and robbed, but otherwise unharmed, but I might go home and grab the kids. At least the oldest one. I will have to see.

I have today and Christmas Eve to work, then I am off for 4 days. :cool1: I am feeling like I really need to be planning a Disney trip.

Caffeine free for a week now. Headaches have passed. Not as bad as last time, so I am pleased.

Have a great day.

Getting caught up on day 3 - lets see if I have this right - 2 planned DISmeets and one impromptu meet. Strong work. And everyone has your bags. How cute.

Sorry you had to give up on character drawing. I feel like my timing is always bad when I visit there and I often end up skipping it all together, although its one of my favorite things to do.

That salmon salad looks really yummy, as do the cupcakes.

November 17th. Yep, that's the last time I was on the DIS. What???? I knew it had been a while, but that's crazy!

Anyway, I wanted to hop on and wish you and your sweet and crazy family a very Merry Christmas. I probably won't be on again for a while. Thank goodness for Facebook, or I wouldn't know anything of what was going on with you!!

I wish I knew how to download and insert one of those cute graphics you guys are so good at doing. Just imagine a graphic of the Fab Five wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. They are wearing sparkle spandex and lifting weights while whipping up a yummy but healthy protein shake. You're seeing it, I know you are…wishing you the very best, my friend!
