~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

Glad you had a good day shopping with your dad. Sorry to hear the road were bad. People seem to forget how to drive in snow.
Work was busy yesterday. I think everyone came out because the roads were cleared and the snow reminded them the Christmas is coming.
The schedule for Thanksgiving is posted. So far I'm scheduled for the event but someone I work with wants to switch so I'd work a mid instead. I don't really mind but it's up to our assistant. I have to leave for work soon.
Have a good day.
Liz

Looks like a fun trip with your dad! He looks happy with those crab legs!

Give us some ideas of what he wants/needs for Christmas, Santa wants to know!

Love the Frozen bag! Her eyes look FANTASTIC!

Glad Alli didn't have strep. I hope everyone is feeling better.

It sounds like you had a great time with your Dad - that's great. He is so cute with his beard and suspenders! He is definitely a Santa look-a-like!

Yah - the roads weren't good - just glad I made it out of there alive... It was dicey several times. :faint:

Yes - everyone is in full-on Christmas shopping mode here. I hope you are able to switch if that's what you want to do.

I hope you have a nice weekend Liz. :wizard:

Yes - he was so excited to eat crab... He had lots of leftovers to take home... Not sure I could eat crab as leftovers, but he didn't seem to mind. :confused3

Hmmm... Ideas for my dad for Christmas... Well, I can say that I am having a hard time with ideas for him myself. I always tell everyone to send him Agave Nectar... He loves that stuff and eats a lot of it. He could use a new baseball hat - or two - whatever theme, he likes almost anything. I noticed his hat was pretty icky the last time I was there (before this) - his head is a bit bigger, so bigger rather than smaller if they happen to be sized. :confused3 Otherwise, gift cards to eat out are always good... He LOVES to eat out anywhere he can sit down and eat - and we always go out to eat whenever I go up there. I am trying to think of other things, but it's super hard to buy for him, because we purchased all new stuff for his apt. when he moved and replaced most of his clothes at that time too. Thank you Stephanie - whatever you want to do for him would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! I really love how her eyes turned out too - sometimes they are just the hardest to do (mouths too) - so nailing that portion is always a relief for me.

She is getting there - she still sounds awful... I am certain she has exactly what I had a few weeks ago, so it will be slow getting better for her.

We did! I agree - I love the Santa look he is pulling off perfectly this year. :lovestruc

I love how happy your Dad looks. He was obviously enjoying his day with you.

We had a great day - it was so much fun! I love spending time with him. :lovestruc

I had a fantastic day yesterday...

I love my weekends, because I force myself to never work out... It's so nice just to sit here with my cup of coffee and be lazy 2 days per week. I firmly believe that taking this time off is good for me, it reminds me that this is my lifestyle and not a race. :thumbsup2

We started to get snow yesterday morning...

And I had some packages delivered here for the City - so Josh and I had to drop them off at City Hall on our way out of town. Our City Hall isn't staffed all the time, so UPS knows to drop everything at my house... Which will be changing at the start of the New Year.

Then Josh and I ventured out on to the snow filled slippery roads...

First stop was the new outlet mall... We decided to do some Christmas shopping... Both the girls and I love shopping at American Eagle, and we love that new outlet store. I had a great coupon - which we were able to stack on to the clearance discounts that were already there... We got 3 sweaters for $37! :faint: Which is a fabulous deal - usually their sweaters average $50 each.

Josh was making me try on new jackets everywhere we went... I'd purchased myself a new down jacket last year at the Lands End outlet, but I have lost so much size - it looks VERY maternity-like on me this year. :( I found one at Eddie Bauer I really liked, but I left it behind. Now is not the time to be buying myself a new down jacket... There is nothing wrong with my one from last year - other than how it looks on me.

We went through every other store at the outlet mall, but we never found anything else for anyone else. Bummer...

From there, we went to Target and Best Buy... We just looked around, and didn't buy anything at either place.

We were hungry, so Josh took me out to a new burger place - I've eaten there with BFF before, but Josh has never been there. It's called Burger Jones... Just a fun bar/restaurant.

The roads were starting to get pretty slick at this point, and I wanted to get home to see Allison before she went to work... So, we stopped at Home Depot to get furnace filters, and then we went home.

We made it with about 30 minutes to spare, before Gus took Alli to work.

Then Josh and I sat here and watched Christmas movies/napped our day away... Victoria laid on the couch and watched a new TV series she is into on her Ipad.

I texted Gus later in the evening to make sure he still wanted to pick Alli up from work - I didn't want him to feel obgligated to drive on bad roads - but he insisted. She called me shortly after she got off of work to say they'd be late, they were driving really slow and roads were bad - which I knew and I was afraid of. But - they took it slow like good kids and made it home safely. Gus stayed and watched movies with Allison, Josh and I went to bed.

That's all for our day. It was so fun to Christmas shop with Josh - we haven't done it together in years... I kind of hope we go out again today - I love spending time with him like that. :lovestruc

Oh - and as a side note... When we were out to eat yesterday, I caught a glimpse of myself in a mirror, and I didn't recognize myself at all... It was the most bizarre thing ever. I had to back up and look again. I was wearing a pair of the size 10 jeans that BFF has borrowed to me, and it was just shocking to look in the mirror and not see the person I always see there. :wizard: I am getting closer and closer every day to my intitial "ultimate" size goal... but the closer I get to that goal, the more I tell myself I'll keep eating and excercising this way forever, because I truly like living this way - so the odds of me staying there - well - let's just say, I wouldn't be surprised if my body decided to continue on. ::yes::

I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend! Prayers and Pixie Dust go out to all of you! :grouphug:

Sounds like you had a great day with your dad.
The day with Josh shopping sounds nice as well. I'm glad you had a nice weekend.

First of all, LOVE the Elsa bag! You totally nailed her expression, and I know that is difficult to do. That lining fabric is gorgeous and so appropriate for that bag. Lucky recipient!!:thumbsup2

Before you even said it, I took one look at the pic of your Dad and thought "Santa"!! He is just sooo adorable!! I'm glad you made it there and back safely and had such a great time with him. I know he loves when you're there and appreciates all you do for him.

I'm so sorry Allison has continued to be sick. Those nasty viruses hang on like it's their job. Well, I guess it is…lol. But glad she got to enjoy her weekend, and hope she continues to feel better each day. It does take a while.

Oooh, your day out with Josh sounds like such fun! Maybe that jacket will make it's way under your tree…:rolleyes1 Dan doesn't like to shop. He tends to want to buy the first thing we look at, and I always want to make whatever I get be the perfect gift. So, a long time ago I learned to leave him behind as a sort of "preserve our marriage" kinda thing! HaHa I just grab a girlfriend and make a day of it and everyone is happy.

I had a baby shower on Saturday, a brunch with lots of good food and mimosas, yum! It went longer than expected, me getting caught up with old friends etc., so I didn't join Dan at the condo. Instead I went to Hobby Lobby and bought our Christmas cards and came home, got something warm to drink, put on Christmas movies and got them all filled out and ready to go. I always try to get them in the mail the first of December.

I'm so glad you had a safe and fun weekend. lazing around watching Christmas movies gets my vote every time! Have a wonderful day!!!:flower3:

THanks Lois! I really love how that bag turned out too.

Yes, I am so lucky to get to spend that time with my Dad, sometimes it's really hard to make it work with our schedules though - and I feel super guilty about it.

She seems to be getting better each day.

Josh and I did have so much fun! We went out again yesterday... It wasn't quite as fun. :confused3

Good for you getting your Christmas cards done already... I am always hit or miss - some years I do them, some years I don't... Some years I just do the photos in photoshop and post them on FB... Cheaper and easier. :rolleyes1

Thank you - you too!

We had a great day yesterday...

I splurged and had two cups of coffee yesterday morning - which I shouldn't have done, because I had Starbucks 3 times last week.

Josh made his home-made chili in the crock pot, so it was all ready when we got home.

Gus came over after church, just as he got here - Josh and I left to go do some Christmas shopping again.

Again - we were unsuccessful... We came home with nothing. :sad2: Part of the problem, I don't think Josh understands - is that the girls only have their hearts set on a couple of items this year - their lists are quite small and (mostly) inexpensive... So, I am trying to be careful to get as close to their requested items as possible - especially when it comes to clothes... I know how picky I was as a teen (even now) about my clothes... Color/fit/style/brand were all important. I don't mind getting them other things that aren't on their list, but if they request something specific, I try to be close to that. Anyways... They requested "Pink" items... Well, any teen age girl knows they are referring to Victoria's Secret Pink brand... but Josh is thinking pink - the color... So, that took a bit of explaining - inside Victoria's Secret. LOL He was a little uncomfortable in there. LOL

So, we came home empty handed...

Gus had already brought Alli to work.

I hadn't had lunch, so I was starving... But I waited to eat until dinner, because it was almost that time.

Allison was supposed to work until 8:30, but at 5:30 I got the call to come and get her - she had burned herself at work, they filled out an incident report and sent her home. The burn was not bad, and I did not see any reason to take her into the Dr. But we came home and iced it, I am not sure it will blister? I'll look at it this morning before she goes to school.

So, instead of working last night, she worked on her Christmas gift for Gus... It's very cute. I admit - I helped her out with one small portion of it - and Josh did too. :thumbsup2

Today is a Target day for me... We are also in a winter weather advisory for blowing and drifting snow... Not looking forward to that - because that's when it always gets bad in our area. Hopefully, it will be like last week and turn out to be nothing.

Sadly, I didn't get an update done this weekend. I will have one for you tomorrow or Wednesday.

Have a great day everyone! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Have a good day at Target. We're under a winter weather advisory today, too. We're supposed to get more snow about the time I get off. work. I'm tired of winter already and it's no here yet.
My daughter and I wen to the outlets in PA. yesterday to do some Christmas shopping. We did get something for my niece and mom. There wasn't even any snow on the ground there. We have about 18 inches here. I wanted to get some brown boots but couldn't find any in my size.

Have a great day at Target and safe travels. Had to laugh at the visual of Josh in Victoria's Secret!!

Glad I was able to make time to get caught up with you this morning. :goodvibes

The Elsa bag is great!

What kind of toys caught your dad's eye when you were out Christmas shopping? I definitely think he needs something fun under his Christmas tree this year :thumbsup2 What restaurants are convenient to him that he enjoys, other than Red Lobster? It brought a smile to my face to read that you were able to help him save some Christmas money this year - you are such a blessing to your dad in so many ways, big and small.

Just a quick update on my food and exercise. Disney was Disney - no real exercise other than all the walking and I pretty much ate what I wanted to eat. We got home Friday around lunch time. Since then, I've made it to 2 yoga classes and I'm hoping to go to yoga again tonight and Wednesday night. I did run through the drive thru for breakfast this morning, but there were some extenuating circumstances that I can't use as an excuse after today, so, hopefully, outside of this morning I will have another fast food free week.

Hope you have a great day today! Can't wait to see the bag you are working on this week ;)

I saw the picture of your dad before reading and thought HOLY COW IT'S SANTA! He is just that adorable!!! Glad you got some shopping done with him!
He is just soo cute. and with him being Santa i can see how toys would be on top of his list..

Glad you had a good weekend!

Where's the update?

Your Dad looks like such a sweet man! I'm glad that you are able to spend time with him! :flower3:

Ouch! I hope Alli's burn isn't too bad. First she gets sick, then gets burnt... What kind of luck is that!?!?! :crazy2: Tell her I hope she feels better soon!

I love PINK stuff! Now, if some of there stuff wasn't just so expensive, then that would be great! LOL

We got snow throughout the weekend. I love the snow, just don't love the freezing cold! :sad2:

Hope you all get home safe and sound.

Sorry all... I was running early this morning - and now I am running late. LOL I will try to be back later for replies and an update. :thumbsup2

Trust me, my life is pretty boring at the moment, so you aren't missing out on much.

Love and hugs to you all! :grouphug:

Good because i can't wait to see the pictures from your trip!!!

I so want to meet your Dad! Next time we come out there, we are taking a trip up. I keep watching the weather and I feel so bad for my friends out in the Midwest! It has been cold here, but we haven't had a ton of snow. I just feel bad for you all!
And I must tell you, after your sweater dress pictures....I went to Kohls and bought two. They actually look decent on me too :)
