Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday.

I'm glad to hear the Conferences went well even if one of the girls haven't done all their work.

The first dress you posted yesterday looks nice on you.

Thanks Lillian... I was very relieved about the girls' conferences - especially Allison's because she has been so busy.

Thank you - I am very excited to wear it for Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

We had a nice day yesterday...

Everyone slept in - except for me. :confused3

Josh went to the MOA to find a Christmas gift for Brian... He invited me along, but there is NO way I am going to the MOA between Halloween and Christmas - unless it's a week day and I am there before opening. It's just way too crazy! So, I sent him on his merry way, alone. ::yes::

While he was there - I ran to Target to get a few things... You know how those Target trips go... :rolleyes1 You never walk out with just what you went in for...

Came home, napped - or tried to...

Made spaghetti for dinner...

Gus came over.

We all went to Matt's game... His team won - it was a fantastic game!

I had 2 hot chocolates there... Bad, bad idea. I'd had 1 the night before - and my stomach was "off" all night long. Didn't think much of it. Had 2 hot chocolates last night, and I was doubled over in pain all night long... It was horrible. Not sure what was in it (or as Chiara pointed out on FB this morning - how clean the machine was... Eeeew!) - but from now on, if I want something warm to drink at the games, I will make it at home and bring a thermos or something. I never want to repeat last night - I have never had pain like that.

I am all better this morning though - I promise. :thumbsup2

Today... Well, I am bringing Allison up to church with Gus. I am dropping her off, then they are going out for lunch after with Gus' grandmother and her friend. Gus will bring her home after.

Victoria is going to church with the neighbors.

Josh and I will be home cleaning and getting ready for our Winter Storm Warning that is predicted to hit tonight. Sooo not ready. Josh needs to still get the mower deck off of his lawnmower and put the snow blower on it. Then he needs to run all of our plugs to the driveways, so we can plug all of our vehicles in this winter. Shouldn't take too long to do all of this - but it has to be done today, as we are supposed to get up to 8" tonight. :headache:

Also, Myrthe's parents and Josh's Dad and Step-mother are coming for dinner tonight... Should be interesting. Depending on what time Gus brings Allison home - they might get to meet him. That's a big deal...

Anyways, so I have a bit of cleaning to do today, as well.

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you. :grouphug:

It is amazing how certain foods no longer agree with our bodies once you cut out so many different foods.

I hope he weather reports are wrong and you don't get snow it is way to early for snow.

This is much too early for 8 inches of snow. :crazy2: I sure hope we don't have as cold a winter as it was last year. Do you have a garage for your cars?

We had a busy weekend with the carpet cleaners coming in yesterday. It is always nice to get the carpets cleaned before the holidays but it is also a lot of work to prep the house and then put it all back together again.

It's way to early for snow, especially 8 inches.
I'm glad you're feeling better today. I hope you and Josh get every done today.
We still have to move things around in the garage so we can park the Jeep inside.
My neighbor still has my gas can so it better not snow soon. He said he'll bring it back after he fills it.
I hope you have a good day.
Liz

Yes, I was so shocked. Learned my lesson though.

Thanks... As of last night - we are predicted to get 10"-16" of snow between last night and tomorrow night... However, we just got a dusting last night, so hopefully they are wrong. Not looking forward to my drive home tonight.

I agree - it is way too early. We used to have a garage, but we took it down about 3 years ago, because it was in very poor shape. We do have plans to put an addition on to our house, which includes a garage, but we have yet to even begin on that - I think we are very nervous to put that much work and $$ into our house when the housing market is just so unsure. We purchased our house at the tippy top of the highest market - so we are really upside down, and always will be, I am afraid... So, to add that much "value" on to a house that we may never see, well, it's a little frightening. So, to answer your question - no we don't have a garage. :/

I love having my carpets cleaned too!!! Its' always so nice!

I agree - but it looks like we are supposed to get more than 8" now... We will see... We are kind of on a line where we could just get 3" or up to 16". We just got a dusting last night, so I am hopeful it is closer to the 3" mark. :thumbsup2

Josh never did get the snow blower on to the lawn mower yesterday - and the shovels are still way down by the shed... So, it's going to be a rough snow fall for us, expecially if it's big.

We had a nice day yesterday...

I brought Alli up to go to church with Gus... He brough her home later in the day, he did not stay.

I cleaned the house a little bit.

Josh made dinner of wild rice soup and butternut squash - it was very good and very Minnesotan.

His dad wasn't feeling well, so he didn't stay.

But Myrthe's parents seemed to enjoy themselves... It's always nice to see them, the girls love them!

Today, I work at Target. I am very nervous for my drive - it could be very difficult and dangerous after I get off of work, if we get as much snow as they are predicting. Not looking forward to it at all.

I hope you all have a great day! Prayers and good thoughts to all of you! :grouphug:

Drive safe!!!

have a great day at Target! Went to target yesterday for dog food walked out 129.00 later...

Oh my, all this talk about snow…I know people haven't recovered from last winter's snowfall!

I know what you mean about putting money into a house you're already upside down on. So many people were put in such a difficult situation when that bubble burst, including one of our sons. But they rented that place out and built another one and are doing okay from it now.

Josh was so brave to go to the mall alone…and on a weekend!! Did he find what he was looking for? Then he made dinner too?? That is awesome. You've trained him well.

As part of my on-going birthday celebration, on Saturday we went to Cleveland to see the Broadway play Newsies. It's a Disney production and it was fantastic!! And for my birthday, Dan bought tickets to see White Christmas the first week in December. I'm sure it wouldn't have been his first choice, but he knew I really wanted to see it. It's one of my all time favorite Christmas movies.

I hope you had a great day at Target. I went to get one of our cars E-checked this morning and then to get the license plates renewed. Fortunately while I was there I discovered my driver's license was expired, so got that too. I'm going to be babysitting our little Easton (our neighbor's little guy) in about 20 minutes, so I need to go. Have a wonderful evening!

ETA: Ruth, so glad everything worked out for you and your daughter and that you are recovering. Don't rush it. Get rested up. Thanks for updating us!

Please be safe driving in the snow! Wasn't it just snowing a couple of months ago there?!

Definitely liked the first dress best, good choice.

I see everyone posting all of their cute winter clothes and i'm kind of jealous. Okay maybe just a little jealous, well heck I had to break out a long-sleeve T-shirt last week!!:lmao:

You should see everyone down here, when it gets to about 65 they all break out their puffy jackets, gloves, scarves and hats! And there me in my carpis, flip flops and a t-shirt, it has to get into the 50's for long sleeves.

Hope your drive was safe. I saw some of those predictions from Cale's Illinois family.

You know, they say if you want something done give it to a busy person. Sounds like Allison is following in your footsteps, working, school, etc. And keeping it all done. I hope V is like I was...my work was so -so, but I tested really well and had a very quick understanding of material (not math, so much, but other stuff) so my grades never dipped below a B. Except for one memorable occasion when I got a D. That made me get more work in, but still not all of it. And this was my major. :rolleyes1

Everyone north, be safe & warm. Everyone not 100%, be better. To everyone, happy thoughts and pixie dust!

Snow?! That nasty four letter word. Drive Safe!!! Hope you just get a dusting. My daughter just informed me we might get some this Friday. I am not ready.
I like the first dress the best.
Did Josh survived the MOA? Glad conferences went well. Oh how I miss those days.
We had the family over for dinner since my nephew came home. It was nice with all of us together.
Have a great day!

Drive safe

Thank you. :thumbsup2

Yes - I am still sick of snow from last year (and the year before, and the year before that... :rotfl2:) Thankfully we didn't get the worst of it... We missed that by a good 60 miles. We did get more snow last night - it's hard to tell because it's still dark out - but maybe 3"... For a total of 5", but the first 2" melted right away.

Well, we are happy to live here, and at the moment - no desire to move - so we are ok with keepin' on keepin' on. I would love to do our addition in the worst way - but no matter how we work the #s, we'll never see our $$ back out of it - so it becomes a matter of doing it for our own enjoyment, and we just cannot justify it at this time. In 3 years, the girls will be on their own, and this house will be much too big for just Josh and I - we'll probably stay here because of the housing market, but who knows?

Hahaha... Yes, he found what he was looking for. He said he walked in and walked out... I could nEVER do that. LOL

Oooh sounds like a wonderful birthday Lois! I love it! Sadly - I have never seen White Christmas, every year, I say I am going to, and I never do. This year...

Yikes! My DL expires this coming year too... I am kind of excited to get a new one this time around... I get to put a MUCH lower weight on it - and (hopefully) have a much better picture taken too. :thumbsup2

I hope your day at Target goes well today. Drive safely.

Thank you - It did. Driving was much better than I expected.

Yes, yes it was. :confused3 Have I told you all that I hate winter yet? I truly do.

Thanks!!! I am super excited to wear it for Thanksgiving!

Hahaha... Well, we are all jealous of you - I guarantee it.

LOL... That's still short and flip-flop weather for me. Heavens, I even tan in weather like that all the time... :thumbsup2

I did have a good drive - it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought.

Hahaha... Yes, it does sound like ALlison is following in my footsteps a little bit. :scratchin Yes, V doesn't do too well turning in work - but she does test pretty well, most of the time, sometimes her tests really reflect the work that she has done... She is working hard at turning in all of her missing work - some of it she won't get credit for, but we make her do it and turn it in anyways.

Thank you - you too Ruth! :lovestruc

Thanks! We got a litlte more than a dusting, but MUCH less than our northern neighbors. I think our snow total was about 4-5"... but 60 miles north of us, they got between 14-18"... So, we were lucky.

Thanks - I am very excited to wear that dress for Thanksgiving.

LOL - yes Josh survived the MOA... I was rather surprised.

Glad you had a great day with your family!!! I am so happy your nephew is safely home. :thumbsup2

**********************************************************

Well, I worked at Target yesterday... It went fairly quickly.

I was expecting the roads to be bad when I got off of work, but it was just warm enough to keep them from freezing - so they were just wet. Any snow we'd received earlier in the day was melted. What a relief! We did get 2-3" sometime during the night last night, but we were very lucky. Just north of us - they received much more.

Gus came over last night and had dinner here.

I had almost my last City Council meeting last night... Only one more meeting left. It's kind of sad now... As much as I am looking forward to being done, I really enjoyed my work there and I feel that we really did some awesome things to set our city up for success in the future. It will be bitter sweet for sure - and who knows... Maybe I'll run again one day in the future? :confused3

Today, I am starting on my next custom order... Still not sure on the theme... Can't go into too much detail, but I get to choose from a few themes, and I just can't decide... I'll go upstairs later to see if any of my fabric speaks to me... And I'll go from there.

I also have a hair appointment today... I am in desperate need! I am trying to go 3 appointments (so, 18 weeks) with out coloring my hair, so I can have it nice for Christmas... but I am at my witts end with it, and might just cave and have it done anyways? :confused3 We'll see? Hopefully my stylist will work a miracle for me...

Josh is home from work today for Vetran's day... So, I am not sure if we will do anything? Probably not, because I do have to work.

Nothing else exciting...

I hope you all have a great day!!! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

Glad the snow missed you for the most part. It's too soon to have to worry about that!::yes::

Well, if they vote some bozos into office, you just may have to run for city council again! I remember what a fiasco it was when some well meaning um, idiots started reinventing the wheel. You've served your community well and should be proud of what you've accomplished!:thumbsup2

I would definitely have Josh do a TG meal! Best leftovers ever. I just ordered our fresh turkeys. Dan will do one in the smoker and I'll do one with stuffing in the oven. One will be 12 - 14 lbs and one will be 22 - 24 lbs. We'll probably be freezing some of that and will send some home with people too.

Your new license photo will be awesome!! They didn't ask me about my weight this time, so I didn't have to lie. HaHa!:rotfl: They also didn't ask me if I was doing drugs. Guess I look like an upright citizen…or really old!! :faint:

I know the fabric is going to "speak" to you and you will be on your way to sewing more fabulousness!! Hope you have a great day!:goodvibes

And just because I WANT to use this::santa::santa::santa:

Glad you didn't get too much snow so the drive home was ok.

Here we have a little over 3 inch of snow now and today the temperature has been around freezing point.

I know - I am sick of it already... Sigh. It does put me in the Christmas spirit though. Love Christmas!

Thank you - I did enjoy most of my time on the City Council. I will be watching carefully over the coming months to see how it goes. I definitely need a break though.

Hehehe... I did ask Josh last night if he would make a TG meal for us... I told him I would eat everything, but the stuffing. I mostly just want his cranberries. :lovestruc We'll see... He might?

LOL - I hope my new license photo will be awesome? It better be. :thumbsup2 I don't think they ask about drugs in our state either... I think they just assume. :confused3

Thankfully - not the fabric, but an idea spoke to me... So that's what I am going with. :lovestruc

Glad you didn't get too much snow so the drive home was ok.

Yes, I was very thankful. Sounds like your weather is much like ours.

**********************************************************

I had a nice day yesterday, but sadly, I didn't get anything done... by "anything" - I mean, I didn't get done what I would have liked to get done.

I was able to cut out my next order and get started on my quilting...

But then Josh's dad and step-mom stopped by to pick up the trailer they'd dropped off on Sunday... And they stayed and chatted for quite some time. Which was fine.

By that time, it was time for me to shower and get ready to go to my hair appt... I decided to get "the works" done... I hadn't had my hair colored since right before our Disney trip in Aug - and I was due. Sadly, this means I will have to have the works done again right before Christmas, because I need "fresh" hair for Christmas. Oh well... It's really dark - it's the exact color I've done the last 3 times, but because mine was soooo faded, it looks pretty drastic. But I like it - it's cute.

Came home, made pizzas, Gus came over...

After dinner, Alli stepped on a piece of glass from when I broke a plate the other day, Gus was so sweet and "patched her up" (Mm helped)...

20141111_194758.jpg

Today...

I am bringing Allison into school, she needs cough drops - she isn't feeling well again. She has a field trip today, so she is trying to push through it.

Then I will be working all day... Hoping to finish quilting this bag and finish the applique too.

I need to squish my 30 Day Shred in here somewhere too...

I hope you all have a great day today, prayers and Pixie Dust goes out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Glad you didn't get too much snow. We have a cold front moving in and I'm not too happy about it. I do not like the cold.
Hope Alli isn't getting sick again and I hope her foot is ok
Cannot wait to see the bag. Everyone is beautiful.
This morning I was informed by a friend of mine that it's 37 days till Christmas!! I need to finish my shopping before Thanksgiving.
Have a fantastic day!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO On snow.

ahhh to see such a cute couple... i was talking about Gus and MM by the way... :lmao:

just kidding...
