~~ A Celebration of Life-long friendship ~~ Sew Sweet 16 ~~ Now N' Thens 3/11

Ugh, dislike the new dis boards. I do not like change, especially this kind of change. Plus the fact I can't get this to work on my phone. :crazy2:
:jumping1: So excited for Alli!!! :jumping1:

LOVE the new sweatshirt. I will have to look at our store when I head back to the outlets to return that VB bag.

Today was a snow day for us. Even the company that I work with closed down for the day. Now the fun begins with digging out the cars. :scared1: I am totally a hot weather girl. The only one in this house that loves the snow is our big dog Tuck.

Have a great day. Thoughts and prayers to all!

Hi D!
Remember me? Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Work was insane when I got back from WDW. I was pleasantly surprised that my work didn't go unnoticed by my boss's boss so I got a nice bonus. We are going to try again to hire a new analyst. I don't know when my next Disney trip will be. For the past few years I've gone in the fall but since my pass expired in August & I won't be going this spring it didn't make sense to go last fall. I do have a "just in case" bounce back for free DDP for August but I don't know if I will keep it. Lizzy really doesn't want to go and I'm not sure Gene will want me to go with Joe & Emma. I've been spending most of my online time reading about my European trip this April with my friend. I'm so used to knowing everything about WDW it's a bit daunting to be going to so many new places.

I was sorry to read about V's allergic reaction & bus troubles. And sorry to hear about A's mono-nice to hear she's doing better. Congrats on her drivers permit! Lizzy is anxious to get hers. In MA you can get your permit at 16, test for license after 6 months with drivers ed (parents also have to do a 2 hour class). For the first 6 months you can't drive with anyone under 18 unless it is a sibling. Until age 18 you can't drive midnight til 5am. Until 21 yrs old your license is vertical instead of horizontal so it can't be altered for drinking. I'm not sure I'm ready for a driver in the house!

Your photos are great! All your hard work is paying off!

I haven't got an e-mail that a new post was here. And when I come to the DIS it doesn't look like it used to. It's going to take some time getting used to this new look. Sounds like you had a nice weekend and a nice visit to your dad.

Drivers licensing requirements are different in each state - although they are similar in many regards. In PA you have to be 16 to take the written test to get a learner's permit. Then you have to have your permit for at least 6 months, with at least 50 hours behind the wheel, although that requirement has changed since Shannon got her permit - you have to have some hours at night, etc. and I'm not familiar with the newer regulations. Once you get your license - its called a "Cinderella" license here, you can't drive between 11 pm and 6 am - unless you are driving home from work. Licenses are vertical here too until age 21.

We would have problems when the kids were in band and at a competition, which meant we didn't get back to school until after 11 pm. The school district made arrangements with the local police department to give the kids that drove a letter/exemption from the 11 pm rule.

Funny story - I was driving Shannon home from band one night. I had long hair and was wearing my dd Kate's school letterman jacket. I dropped Shannon at home so she could get her overnight stuff - she was going to a sleepover at a friend's house, Shan ran out and got in the car and I drove off. Got stopped by the local police in the next block. The officer did a double take when she saw me, since I obviously was not a teenager! It was so funny! - she stammered and said that I had a tail light out...

Looking good, Girl! I love the new hoodie -was thinking of ordering one myself.

:dogdance: I just discovered my new favorite emoticon.

Finally got caught up, I was way behind. I'm going to be at Disney in early March if you still need someone to shop for you.

I am so lost on here It keeps jumping to other pages. I am NOT liking this yet as i have no idea what i am doing.. Like just posting a reply without quoting? Where did my picture go?!
This is going to take me all day to figure out...

I know - it's strange - it will take some getting used to. But it's really not all that different than how the boards were done before... Everything is done exactly the same - it just looks different. :)

That's about how I feel right now with the new boards. I know that change is necessary but so far I don't like it! Oh and this is Ariana by the way, I lost my old Avatar and had to replace it. I'm glad you figured out the multi-quote because I need to go do an update on one of my TRs and now I don't have to search for it.

Hahaha... Always happy to help out. It's so nice to see everyone here this morning!

This new dis will take a while to get use to, lucky im working from home today since my girls don't have school due to weather. Not sure why though..

Yes, it will take some getting used to - that's for sure.

I am not sure about the new DIS. Will take some getting used to. Glad that Alli got her permit and your visit with your dad sounds like it was a good time. I ate some off whole30 foods yesterday. I had some hummus and pita chips and meatballs that weren't compliant. No side effects, so I am happy about that.

Yes, I agree. And yes - I am so proud of All for getting her permit... She's already put in quite a few hours... The benefits to living in the country. LOL

Yay for some good food reintro... I've done a bit of dairy and that meal of Chinese (which didn't agree with me)... Otherwise, I am doing Ok - still trying to limit the dairy though.

Ugh, dislike the new dis boards. I do not like change, especially this kind of change. Plus the fact I can't get this to work on my phone.

I know - it's so weird getitng used to.

Oooh - I hope you find something good at the VB outlet... I need to make it to ours soon... I really want that Flower Power Weekender to go with the rest of my Disney stuff.

The snow is crazy in your area! I sure hope all goes well today.

Bernadette!!!!! Thanks so much for stopping in!!! I have not seen you or talked to you since we met up in August! So glad to see that you are just busy - I was starting to worry! I wish I could join you in Aug for your FD LOL. Please pass on my hellos to the kids and Gene! I still feel badly that we were all out of sorts that night we met up... I hope you'll accept my apologies for that. :lovestruc

LOL - Yah - it's interesting how different states do it differently. I don't think ours are vertical? Well, they never used to be - they could be now? I have no idea. LOL It's not that bad having a driver in the house - it's a little nerve wracking - but she is doing really well. I took her into the "city" yesterday and she did a great job!

Thanks agian for stopping in.

Yah - it's a lot different, isn't it? Not sure if I like it or hate it. It will definitely take some getting used to.

Hahaha... that is a funny story. :D It's very interesting to see how different states do it differently. I know - when I had my permit, it was just a paper permit... Now they give out hard cards - but I am not sure if they are vertical or horizontal?

Looking good, Girl! I love the new hoodie -was thinking of ordering one myself.

:dogdance: I just discovered my new favorite emoticon.

Lissette

LOL - thanks! Yah - I think the hoodie runs small... It has a *little bit* of stretch, but not much. I ordered a large, but debated on a medium... Glad I ordered the large. Most of my large shirts are a bit big on me, and I've been mostly wearing mediums lately - if that's any indication of what you should order for size? But I love it - I think it's cute, and I am dying to wear it with a pair of pink shorts this summer. :) On the chilly nights - that is. LOL

This is a great trip report!

Thanks! And welcome! I am very glad to have you here!

Finally got caught up, I was way behind. I'm going to be at Disney in early March if you still need someone to shop for you.

Jodi

Hahaha... I always need someone to shop for me!!! Hehehe... In all seriousness though - I was able to get the Hipster I wanted through a Dis friend... But more towards this summer- I think I will need another one of the Perfect Petals hipsters, because mine is starting to look pretty dingy. I am going to have to Scotch Guard this new one I just got, because it's such a light color. Thanks so much though - for the offer... I will try to let you know before you go if I think of anything else I need. :lovestruc

*******************************************************************************************************

Well, I didn't quite get everything done in my sewing room yesterday...

I got a call from Alli from school - she was feeling very tired... So, I had to drive to town right after breakfast to pick her up. She came home and napped, and I went to work.

I had to run to Joann's after lunch yesterday... And after Alli's nap - she was feeling better... So she drove into the "city" - which really isn't the city - but it's as close as we ever get. She did a great job driving... Lots of parking practice and stop lights, lots of traffic... She did great!

Then we went to pick up V at school - so Alli got to practice in the High School parking lot - which if any of you have ever driven in a high school parking lot after school has been dismissed - it's like putting your life into your own hands - I was a lot nervous. But she did great!

We came home and I went back to work for a little bit... I still didn't finish, but I was close.

We hung out last night and were lazy - it was nice.

Today is a Target day for me.

Otherwise - nothing else exciting.

Still getting used to this "new Dis"... It's strange... Not bad, but it just doesn't feel like my "old friend" - ya know?

OK - I hope you all have a marvelous day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to everyone! :grouphug:

D~

How great that Alli got some driving practice..
I hope you have a great day at Target.

HA HA old friend! I totally can relate..
I believe i have it all figured out again. maybe... there are new faces tooo_O <--- I do like this guy.
Good Job DRIVING! :drive: Giver her a big ol hug from us ok?!?!

I'm glad Alli got some driving practice.
It sounds like you had a good visit with your dad. My mom does the same thing with gcs. She takes them out of the envelopes and we have no idea who gave her what.
We had a huge snow storm on Sunday. I spent most of Sunday clearing the driveway. I didn't succeed. Yesterday while we were at work one of the neighbors came over and used his snowblower to clean it. I think I know who did it but I'm not sure.
About 30 people called off work yesterday and not that many people work at our store.
Hope you have a good day at work.
Liz

Hello D~!!! I have been gone from the Disboards for a long time...and now everyting this so different! Guess we will get used to it eventually. I am happy that we can download pictures directly onto this now, though. I am not going to try to catch up on threads, just pick up from here. I plan to try to pick up on my TR after I learn how to navigate on here a little better. Missed my Disfriends, I am glad to be back!

Yes - it's been fun teaching her! And she is doing really well.

I did - thank you. :)

Yes - it's just odd... I used to be able to do my replies half-asleep... Now I need my full concentration and a cup of coffee first. LOL

I will - she is doing great!

I did - thank you.

HOw nice of your neighbors - I love when our neighbors do that. :) Hopefully you won't get too much more snow... Only a few more weeks of really hard winter are left - I cannot wait for spring!

Thank you - you too Liz!

Connie!!!! I've missed you! I think of you often! Yes - it is super different here, but it just happened, so you aren't missing out on anything - we are all still learning too.

I will probably continue to do my pictures the same way - I am not sure how The Dis is hosting them, but I would be super annoyed if I lost all of my TR pictures because something on their site went down. So, I think I will just continue to use Photobucket. :)

We've missed you and happy to have you back too!! :lovestruc

********************************************************************************************

I worked at Target all day yesterday.

I was planning to have Alli drive home, but when I walked out of the store - we had about 5" of fresh snow... So, I drove most of the way home and then when we got on the back roads, I pulled over and let her drive. She did really well, and we even kept going past our house, so she could get a little more snow prcactice. As much as I don't want her to drive in the snow, it's something she must learn, and we only have a few more weeks of the worst of it - so this may be her only practice until next year, and by then - she'll be on her own. I'd rather be safe than sorry here. She did great though - and thankfully it was just snowy and not slippery.

Otherwise - we just hung out last night... We were all lazy and I went to bed early.

Today, I am back to work in my sewing room... I have a teeny tiny bit of last week's order to complete - then the remainder of the week, I will be working on this week's order. I am pretty excited about it - I finally recieved my big order of new interior fabrics, and they are a lot of fun. Very excited to have something new to work with.

My eating is going very well these last few days. I found some Half n' Half at Trader Joe's when I was there last week with nothing in it but cream and milk - so that's what I've been having in my coffee - and I continue to add cinnamon too. I've been trying to stick to the Whole30 rules as much as possible, especially the "not snacking between meals" rule. That's really helped me a lot, I think. And I am still trying to avoid dairy - I am not as strict on it as I was before... but not as lenient as I was when doing Primal either. Eventually - I would like to revert back to my Primal ways, but I'd really like to get the last of my size off first - or at least, closer to my goal. I am getting there. :)

Allison is really wanting to go Paleo (I think she'll be better off with Primal - it might be easier on her)... I know she sees my success and it's been a motivator for her. Which is good. And watching how the girls are eating - even though we have mostly healthy things in the house... Some of the stuff they eat... Well - there is no nutrition in it - I don't buy any of it anymore, but they are free to with their own $$. I talked to both of them yesterday and have decided to start making their breakfasts for them... Ever since they started school, they have always been in charge of their own breakfast - but lately, I've noticed that they are either skipping it all together or what they are eating is really poor nutritionally. So, if I can at least get a good breakfast into them - that might help both of them with their hunger later in the day. I know, for me, eating a big breakfast is key to the rest of my day. Not a clue what I am going to make today - but I'll find something. LOL And, of course - I'd like to avoid processed foods for this... So, toast and that sort of thing is out.

Otherwise - nothing else exciting is going on here.

I hope to do an update in the next day or two... I have all of my pictures uploaded to Photobucket (I had to clean off my phone the other day)... So, it's just a matter of getting it written up. :)

I hope you all have a marvelous day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug:

Before I did the whole 30, i was using Trader joe's half and half in my coffee as well. I did find one or 2 other brands that are just milk and cream.
DH convinced me to do a whole60. Or as he is calling a second whole30 since we weighed in on day 31. Would help if I remembered my weight from day 1. I think I lost close to 10 pounds from January 1st, just not sure how much i had lost between the 1st and the 4th when I started. We came home from vacation on the 30th.

Good to know! I never know what sizes to order with Disney stuff! They used to run huge a few years ago but they've changed in recent years.

BTW, we just got our "Incredibles" brochure from Disney for our May trip and I'm so excited! DH is pretty much done with all the treatments (other than a maintence pill which we're hoping has minimal to zero side effects on him) so we thought a trip is loooong overdue! I'm thinking of doing a PTR but don't think it can compare to yours! :worship:

I'm actually liking the new DisBoards because it makes using them on my iPad way easier! I need to re-upload a photo of my dog for my avatar, though - it's so grainy now!

This is the first time I've used the new boards. It is going to take some getting used to! So far I haven't been able to get it on my Ipad, or my phone?!

I know - it's really frustrating, their sizes vary so much - it's hard to know what size to order in anything.

Yay!!! YOu soooo deserve this trip! I am so happy to hear that DH is doing better and he is at the very end of his treatments - what a relief to all of you! What a wonderful, answered prayer!

I don't mind the new Dis... It's just weird... I'll get used to it eventually.

This is the first time I've used the new boards. It is going to take some getting used to! So far I haven't been able to get it on my Ipad, or my phone?!

Yes - it does take some getting used to... I am still working on that part. From what I know, none of the Dis apps are working - not the apple one or the android one... They've been down for months. Anytime I access the Dis from any of my devices - I have to do it through the browswer - which is super annoying, so I don't do it often.

Hopefully you can get used to the new Dis soon. :thumbsup2

**************************************************************************************

I had a great sewing room day yesterday... I worked hard, and I was able to get a lot done. I am *almost* caught up.

I did nothing else all day long... Except for picking up the girls from school. Allison was supposed to make up a test from the other day, but the teacher wasn't there, so now she needs to stay after again today. Which is fine... Gives me an excuse to give V a ride home.

I made an interesting dinner last night... Almond flour crusted chicken strips - they were really good, I thought... But of course - Josh turned his nose up at them, and left a pile of breading on his plate. Sometimes he is worse than a 3 year old. I hate even telling him that anything I am serving is "healthy" because he wont' touch it. Sigh. He'd rather eat the chemical infused stuff. Whatever- more for the rest of us.

Otherwise - nothing else is exciting.

Today should be a mirror image of yesterday...

I'll lift weights right away this morning.

Then I will applique all day long.

I'll pick the girls up from school.

Make dinner... Not sure what that is yet.

Then be lazy.

Then bed.

:D

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Pryaers and Pixie Dust to all! :grouphug:

D~ <------ Who cannot wait for spring!

We woke up to another 4" of snow this morning.:headache: It is beautiful to look at, but I done cleaning it up. Plus the fact they are looking at another HUGE storm to hit us from Sunday into Tuesday :scared: . Whatever happens, happens. As long as everyone is safe.
Glad Alli got some snow driving time. It was fun when my daughter had her permit, she would drive us on our errands, park the car and I would run in do what I needed and off we go. It was like having my personal chauffeur.

Glad you had a nice visit with your dad.

Shipment of new fabric. I cannot wait to see what you make. I love every one of your bags.

The other day we got some Mickey Mail!!! For some reason they sent us our luggage tags, but nothing else. I have to remember where I put them when the time comes. We are still in triple digits before our trip. Either way, it is still exciting and I am patiently counting down the days.

My mom and I went down to the VB outlet last night. Returned the bag I bought for my daughter and bought nothing else. I couldn't believe I walked out with nothing. :confused3 We didn't stay too long. The walkways were getting slick and I didn't need my mother or myself to fall.

Other news my brothers house is coming together. The wiring is in and they should be putting up new sheet rock the next few days; weather pending.
Hopefully, by next week they should be able to move back in. :cool1:

Have a fabulous day. Thoughts and prayers to all!

We had another 1 1/2 (after getting 9") this weekend. We're supposed to get more snow again this weekend...Ugh. I'm so over winter and it's actually been pretty mild this year....

Stay warm!

Hahaha... I am finding the same thing... I love that she is driving me everywhere. It's quite nice. And next year - I'll have V to do it. :lovestruc

Yes, I am very happy about my new fabric - I was really starting to get sick of the fabric I have.

That is very unusual to go in to the VB outlet and come out empty handed... Although - I do it all the time. Maybe if some of my sister prints were there, it would be different?

I am so happy to hear that things are moving right along with your brother's house.. Praying they are all back in it soon!

Stay warm out there!

We had another 1 1/2 (after getting 9") this weekend. We're supposed to get more snow again this weekend...Ugh. I'm so over winter and it's actually been pretty mild this year....

Stay warm!

Yikes!!! That is just crazy! Stay warm and safe out there!

I was able to get a lot of work done again yesterday... I am so close to being caught up - but not quite there yet.

Josh came home from work last night... And he was standing out on the porch forever... So, I got up on my tippy-toes and looked... There was a dog out there with him. So, we brought it in... Poor thing was frozen, I couldn't even tell you what the temp was yesterday, but it was cold. It's belly was just full of ice - it had to have been out there for quite some time. :( So, we brought it in, warmed it up, fed it, watered it... Josh went around to all the neighbors and to the local bars... No one knows who it belongs to. :( Hopefully we find it's rightful owners soon - I know how devistated I would be if we lost MM. But - on the bright side - it's a VERY well behaved animal (nothing like MM) - It loves to cuddle... and we wouldn't mind adding it to our family. So, we'll see. Going to do up some posters today to hang in the bar this weekend.

Today... Nothing exciting is going on...

I'll be working out this morning... My eating is going well... Still adhering to the Whole30 mentality, with exception to my morning Half n' Half in my coffee. So, I am feeling pretty good about that. I've ordered a few pairs of shorts for summer, I received them the other day, and I am excited to look cute. :lovestruc

Otherwise, I will be in my sewing room all day.

Victoria gets to take home her robot baby for her life skills class this weekend... Not sure if I am looking forward to it or not? It wasn't bad last year when Allison brought it home... But V's bedroom is right next to ours...

That's about all...

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Prayers and Pixie Dust go out to all! :grouphug:
