A case of water

I did not know where to put this but since it has to do with flying, transportation it is.

Does anyone know how much a 24 pack of 16.9 ounce bottles of water weighs? What are the rules about packing a case of water for Southwest airlines travel?

I am sure a lot of people might want to know since it is the hot season in FL.

My guess would be around 25 pounds? Your bags can't be heavier than 50lbs before they charge you extra.

This is another reason why we rent a car. Easy to get places to stock up on water and snacks.

I do this too. I put 3 bottles in a one gal ziploc bag.

The water alone is 12 liters, which weighs 12 kg, or about 26 1/2 pounds. Add in the bottles, packaging etc and you are probably talking 30 lbs.

I do this too. I put 3 bottles in a one gal ziploc bag.

We do this too. My mom and I take the bottles out of the case, split them between us, and put the bottels in ziplock baggies in our suitcases. We have never had a problem.

Seriously, though, it's time for me to go into retirement from the Transportation board again - all these water threads are raising my blood pressure.

There is water available at WDW. If you don't want to pay for small bottles, stock up on larger bottles at the hotel gift shop. Consider an online grocery service like netgrocer.com or gardengrocer.com. Or buy your water from one of the Hess gas stations on site.

Please save yourself the hassle and save your fellow travellers the risk of your water bursting and flooding their items.

I have read that lots of people have staples ship a case of water to their resort. When you get check in it is there waiting for you. I will be trying this in 2 weeks, it beats taking a case to the airport!
