As many of you have heard, no doubt, the parks have been especially crowded this week. It seems the likely explanation is that both Utah and AZ public schools are on fall break and nearly every single family that benefits directly has poured into Anaheim. I approached the park gates this morning around 7:20. The line was easily twice as long as I expected. And when we waited for rope drop, that crowd was two to three times thicker than it is usually. So: be prepared to navigate the challenges of the crowds and deal with longer lines. It doesn't help that all of the Tomorrowland construction narrows the entrance from the hub markedly. It's a bit of a bottleneck. Pics below.

Incidentally, I have park maps if anyone would like a set. Simply send me a direct message.

The new fencing runs from Plaza Inn all the way to the Tomorrowland entrance, which also does little to help crowd flows. Hopefully it'll come down soon.

The part near the bathroom is especially narrow. For some reason, people step into this minuscule opening and decide to throw impromptu board meetings.

The limited edition Oogie Boogie Bash pins now seem to be for sale to the general public. No more party-only restrictions.

I was first in line for PP this morning. However, there was a young girl behind me, aged 7 or 8, I imagine, once the queue began to form. I offered her and her grandmother the front-row spot, which they took. They didn't seem especially appreciative but, well, sometimes people are like that.

I did very well on Buzz today. At one point I broke 2M two games in a row! That's something I've never done before. Here's the obligatory pic ;-).

I haven’t been on these boards for a while, but now I’m back since we’re coming next summer. :)
What is the construction that’s happening at Tomorrowland? I feel out of the loop with what’s currently happening in the parks!

How long is all the construction supposed to last at the park? After spending 2 weeks this past summer at the Most Under Construction Place on Earth (WDW), we were really looking forward to not dealing with another resort under top to bottom construction for next April.

I'm here now and I had to scale back my expectations. Holy cow there are people!!!!

Utah schools are not on break this week. (Most have the 17-18 as break.)

More than 600,000 students in Los Angeles had yesterday off, however.

The Tomorrowland construction is at the entrance from the hub. They are removing the artificial rocks (“French fry rocks”) and opening up this area. I’m not sure when it’s supposed to be done but I’d guess it will be mostly done before Holiday time starts in mid November. There’s no way they could do the holiday parade with the current construction walls so they will need to be gone or at least scaled way back by then.

As far as other construction, the only other major area is the Marvel campus in DCA. They are starting on the new coaster in Toontown but pretty much all of that is backstage.

Hard to know what projects will be underway by next April though.

Thanks for the info!

@WonkaKid I thought you only visited on Sundays! I’m so bummed to have missed you- our last day is tomorrow.
I was telling my son (almost 13) about you and your Buzz scores. His eyes got huge!

So sorry! Didn’t know anyone was watching out for me :-(. About once a month I’ll go during the week, usually a Wednesday. I’ll be there again tomorrow (Sunday).

Oh bummer I missed you too! Oh well! Maybe next time! Yeah this week was really busy. Thankfully it was just my husband and myself. I of course did terrible on Buzz Lightyear. :lmao:

I love seeing your pics but they also make me 'homesick'.

I have to admit the pics of the TL/fry rocks walls really disorient me! I have to really look at them to figure out what angle they're taken from! I can't wait til the walls come down, I just hope it's not ALL concrete!

Ha, no worries at all. Some day perhaps I'll see you. We aren't usually there on Sundays because I work Sunday nights and it's a long (6 hour) drive back.
